Whitney Houston performs "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" and accepts "International Artist Award" which was presented by Samuel L. Jackson at the American Music Awards 2009.
I love that woman unconditionally❤️🌹she was exceptional as a vocalist but especially as a human being with an amazing and beautiful soul ❤️🙏there will never be another Whitney🙏🙏❤️❤️🌹🌹
This is just a CLONE of Whitney Houston. That nose is not the same you see in the movie the bodyguard. That's why she don't have the same voice quality. It's not the same person. She was replaced, and his clone sacrifice in a ritual to the devil.
Her voice was definitely coming back. She sounded good here. So sad that the drugs kept calling her back. It ended really bad. I really miss my Whitney so badly.
Her voice here may not be her best as we knew, but her stage performance and the way she connected to her audience is singular and incomparable. Rest well THE VOICE.
I love the fact That Samuel L is not just reading the teleprompter, thats actually how he feels! Then at the end he doesnt just hand her the award, he reads it annunciating WHITNEY HOUSTON and takes his time reading then enscription giving her a moment to bask in the love everyone in that building had for her. Thats how you honor THE VOICE
This is one of my favourite performances of Whitney because she is really singing to herself and saying how proud she is that she overcame her addiction😭❤️💔
@@inegbenoseosose982 Cocaine, she used the drug heavily throughout her career. She died in 2012 after accidentally drowning in a bathtub after using cocaine and a mix of prescription medication
Absolutely. I love that she was so celebrated towards the end of her life. A lot of these artists don't get the recognition they deserve until after they've passed and it no longer matters.
I believe people can just stop attempting to compare Whitney Houston to other singers she had her own style her own voice and no one in my opinion can compare to Whitney Houston.
It was so raw and real . The late iconic legendary DIVA, Whitney Houston And even at her worst she gave it all live 100%. What an amazing performer she was
People mite want to sound and look like you Whitney but they'll NEVER come close. The Lord doesn't make duplicates THERE'S ONLY ONE WHITNEY. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU and Bobbi Christina. ✝️
one of the vocal trinity, they sang the highest, the loudest, the highest. The most impressive use of their voices, technique. Three women who dominated the power ballad genre to the point where no current singer or artist dares attempt to sing these types of songs anymore.
I was there. This was a jam packed award show. I feel so blessed to be able to have seen Whitney, Prince twice, Natalie Cole , and Chester Bennington w/ LP twice before they transitioned.
We have had many amazing artists come and go, but no one commands a stage and has that presence that Whitney has. Even has her voice declined, she knew how to make an audience feel whatever she was singing. She IS the greatest singer of all time. Miss you!
I was in tears when this was aired . Like she proved all them Haters wrong with this performance it was breath taking. Even doe i have the privilege of seeing her on her nothing but love tour in London and she was good but I think they should of waited a little longer untill she was ready stamina wise to sustain the amount of songs night to night , her management failed from that angle in my opinion.
In my opinion, they should have not done the concert in the first place. Whitney couldn't just pull it. The album was enough for us fans already. The wisest decision that they should have thought about was to hold a One Night Only mega concert. And that's it. It would have made us all happy and excited.
Even if her voice was no longer in perfect condition, she could still move an audience to tears. That magic sparkle and exuberance of old Whitney was evident here and she was absolutely glowing! Beautiful lady inside and out. Much missed and fondly remembered.
What's so moving about this performance is how regardless of the difficulties she faces in even getting air out of her lungs, she still "does it," and by "it" I mean that magical thing that only she can do and which she was born to do, and she knows that, and she fights for it ... she still shows joy in singing, she still carries herself with integrity, she still exudes confidence and magnetism, she still employs massive creativity in phrasing and pushes herself to her limits, she still shows grace and humility to the audience while at the same time commanding its respect, and most importantly, she still channels the song from her soul. She's quite literally singing for God, and the fact that she succeeds in eliciting anything more than pity -- that she actually succeeded in deserving a standing ovation on her own merits, even if just barely -- is a hugely powerful and beautiful thing.
She’s still “The Voice” I Love This Performance, every time she sang ,she touched everyone’s heart , We Love you and We miss You Whitney 😞😢 RIP Queen 👑
With all that's going on in the world, this makes me cry, I really don't think she really knew how much she was loved by her fan's, her music helped me on many nights
Babyface didn’t seem touched, then tried to play it off when the camera was on him. Carrie Underwood looked lost and annoyed, probably not the greatest person. But she’s a white country so I don’t expect her to relate or care. I love Reba, she’s one of the good ones. I started to tear up when I saw her face at the end. Whitney was a fighter, brave and courageous. A lot of people wouldn’t had the guts to handle half of what she did. A true inspiration, incredible black woman. May she Rest In Peace and I know she is!
Ms. Whitney was so cute and beautiful here!! The way her was cheering for her at the end of the song I love this song and I love her I really do!! They will always be missed and loved she was my favorite singer and idol but she with the lord and that’s why I love about her she always have that good spirit
Bobbi Kristina was so proud of her momma! 😢 It’s so sad how they died the same way. At least they’re together now like they were meant to be. May God bless their souls.
It really must have been difficult for the old Whitney to compete with the musical and vocal abilities of her younger self. But she showed up and did what she loved best, she was a true definition of a fighter and a person who has confidance in God above all else. God, She's beautiful..... God Bless Her Beautiful Soul indeed ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The people stood as soon as her name was mentioned, and they remained standing through out this beautiful moment in life, what a beautiful memories, ,"the Voice "
This is one of my very best Whitney Houston live performances, i remember watching it and feeling a big relief that she has finally beaten her demons! She looked healthy and back on track😥😥😥
Same. After she got dragged for her GMA performance, I was nervous about this performance, and I wanted her to win so badly, and show the people she still had it-and she SLAYED! When Reba cried, I cried.
Whitney still moves me to tears after all of these years. What a proud moment to show her peers, the fans and the world baby I’m still here and I’m still standing!!!! I miss that Nippy ❤
Very rarely does someone hear a voice that touches their heart, Whitney was that voice that touched our hearts. There will never be anyone like her again. Thank you, God, for giving her this gift and allowing her to touch us all with her voice. She was truly one of a kind. I hope she's with the other angels and still touching hearts in some way.
U know what whitney's wasnt her 100% self talented woman with the most anointed vocal here but this still my most favorite live from her. Sometimes, it's not what u hear at ur ears but at heart.
