The irony of the detail she put the runs on the notes for singing "detail" is just another reason why she was so unique. There will never be another 🙏😇💯
This would be around the time a vacationing Billy Joel met Christie Brinkley, a youngish Elle MacPherson, and a very young Whitney Houston in a Carribean bar. Sitting at the piano to entertain himself, he was soon accompanied by 3 young models on a shoot there. He was particularly enamoured by Elle and went on to date her. Then a year or so later, date then marry Christie Brinkley. Both models asked him to let young Whitney sing along. To which he did and was very impressed. However, looking back he now realises that he missed a major talent in the making.
It's hard to believe she was only 17 yrs. old when this was recorded . She was modeling on the side around this time as well. She had a whole grown persons career and she wasn't even out of high school.
I’m so happy someone unearthed this! I used to argue with ppl that I know she sang a song for that restaurant. My family would eat there on VERY VERY SPECIAL OCCASIONS! You know back when food was real
+turntable1985 several seats to Ariana Grande Miley Cyrus and any other youngster today who think they can sing. Whitney out sang them all with a jingle. the queen y'all.
One! Holy wow how have I not heard this, but also, a reminder that they were packaging and saleing her gift from a young age. She was a cash cow for everyone. Period.
You can see Whitney say many many times, that when she was 13, she made up her mind and wanted to sing professionally. Her mother even asked if she was sure, and Whitney knew. I know by the time I was 17, I was well aware of my actions and what I was doing. Of course people profited, but…this is what SHE wanted
I remember a steak restaurant commercial on television back in the late 1970s. It may have been Steak and Ale, but I can't remember for certain. The commercial is set in the late 18th century. It shows a mid-to-late 30s white man dressed in 18th century period clothing with a white powdered wig. It is obvious he is wealthy and from the upper social classes. It looks like he is sitting in a posh, warm, cozy tavern restaurant. Someone is carving a thick slice of prime rib off the main portion in front of him. The man is a good actor. He is looking down at the prime rib being cut and his face clearly shows the mixed emotions of pleasure, hunger, and appetite. He moves his facial expressions and lip movements as if he is about to lick his lips, but he stops short of doing that, conveying classiness in the commercial. The thick slice of prime rib is laid on a large platter in front of him and he stares down at it with such discernable appetite that you start to feel the same appetited for that steaming slice of beef prime rib. It was a highly effective commercial because it conveyed hunger, appetite, taste, and pleasure from the actor into the person watching the commercial. You would have to be over age 60 to remember this late 70s tv commercial.
She did a long (about a minute) Diet Coke commercial that I believe was for the super bowl in the mid 80s. It’s great and you can find it easily on RU-vid.
