The arms: Whitney is the conductor of her band. They follow her. Not many artists do this. She even found band members who know how to improvise with her. This is why many have said Whitney was a musician as much as she was a singer.

Whitney's arm movements is Her directing or setting the pace of her musicians. Im sure in rehearsals on certain songs she's told them at this particular part of the song make sure you keep your eyes on me!

Whitney is and forever will be the greatest vocalist of all time. This version is great but for me the best version (again I said FOR ME) is when she sang it in Wembley Stadium. She was just on fire that night. To answer your question it’s not a Whitneyism lol, it’s her controlling the band and making them follow her lead. A lot of people don’t know how to have the band follow them but Whitney had total control of not just her instrument but she just controlled everything on her stage. The woman had impeccable stage presence as well.

Thank you, yet again for a great reaction to Whitney! Please keep the live reactions of Whitney coming! Also, I have noticed with Whitney Houston in some songs when she holds the mic in her right hand that seems to be her "beat hand" I guess; she will be tapping her fingers as if with the beat of the song. Maybe, I don't know but that is what it looks like. J
