What quarterback has had to score more than 24pts a game to win cause his defense has been bottom 5 his entire career? What quarterback has had cracked ribs and broken fingers and still been more productive than most his peers? Name any quarterback in the league that could have succeeded as a Charger under those circumstances? You prolly thought Mahomes and no one else. This dude IS elite, easily top 5 and every team that passed on him in the draft is kicking themselves cause this dude made his team competitive despite no run game and a bottom rung defense. Herberts W/L record is proof that defense is key to winning games cause if he had at minimum a top 15 defense (that’s a 7 point swing on average in favor of the Chargers) then all these knuckleheads would be jumping out their seats to compare him to Mahomes week after week.
