As a Twins fan I am jealous. This Cleveland team is everything I wish the Twins were. I was blaming my team for losing so much until I started realizing how special of a team Cleveland has. I will be rooting for you to go all the way! Francona rocks, Rocco is the worst.
I’m a White Sox fan and anyone that plays Cleveland BETTER bring their A game . Because the Guardians play hard every inning of every game and play SMART baseball ! Good Luck Cleveland
Hopefully they'll lose against the Yankees or Astros in the ALCS. I think they'll make it at least that far. Or who know? Maybe they'll go to the World Series & lose to the Dodgers or Braves like they did vs. the Cubs 6 years ago. 😂🤣🤣🚫🏆
It's been so great to have a team that's legitimately fun to watch! Sure, it was great having such a great team in 2016, but it was just pitchers duals every single day and honestly it got old. Small ball never gets old.
I’ve grown up in NE Ohio for years and saw the Indians at the time have some runs but this is the most improbable and exhilarating run I’ve ever seen. Most people, including myself, believed “young roster, building for next couple of years”, etc. No way did I think they’d play this well. And oh by the way, they’re showing the kind of toughness and grit teams, sports teams don’t show typically. This….this is what we’ve been waiting for with our farm clubs producing GEMS, diamonds in the rough literally-youngest team in Major Leagues, fewest home runs total. What?! How does that add up. Well, most stolen bases, most contact plays, one of top teams walked, most strikeouts with our INSANE bullpen seems like we always have a great bullpen. 😮. I think our turning point of the season was when Josè Ramirez signed that massive contract back in the summer. Only THEN, along with management did other players on team get motivated to see something like this. Only NOW, are we witnessing possibly the youngest team winning the pennant possibly? Go GUARDIANS! Wish they were still Indians.
I am a guardians fan from New Jersey. This is impressive. They put a lot of pressure on pitchers and the whole defense. They steal bases, don't strike out. They don't chase pitches out the strike zone. That is rare for a team this young to play like that. This team is going to be a problem in the playoffs. Because this team loves to play close games.
The Guardians benefitted greatly from playing 76 divisional games against the not-so-good KC, Detroit, Minnesota, and Chicago and they rode it into the playoffs. Cleveland was 47-29 against the AL Central, 45-41 against everyone else. Against the other AL playoff teams: Seattle: 1-6 Yankees: 1-5 Houston: 3-4 Toronto: 5-2 Tampa Bay: 4-2 ...but now that my Guardians have dispatched the Rays in the WC round, and they're so hot....I don;t think ANYONE wants to take them on.
Screw this team they just got hot at the right time... I'm still mad at you guys for 2016 that was the squad that was special. And we shoulda won it. I'm only half way joking congrats to you guys.
Hello Cubs fan yeah that 2016 World Series hurt as a Indians fan but congratulations that was a great World Series you guys were most definitely do for championship now the tribe is in your guys' position well was your position Cleveland now has the longest drought but this playoff run has a lot of great potential we have the number one bullpen in MLB and a top five starting rotation they have what it takes to win a championship let's see if they get deep in the playoffs this year but congratulations Cubs fans
@@330wiz7 haha no worries I totally understand and felt bad for y’all after we celebrated. I’ve rooted for y’all to get yours since we got ours and especially this year with how exciting your team is. P.S. thanks for silencing those loud mouths on the South side 😉
The Yankees and Dodgers are those trust fund kids who had their college tuition paid for while they were in diapers. The Guardians are that 18 year old rolling burritos at Taco Bell and buying the old edition of the textbook just taking it a semester at a time.
@@poshko41 Have to come up with something for the Padres too. The kids that want to hang with the rich kids but are new money instead of old, so they aren't accepted.
It's been an amazing team to watch, especially in our own division. They just little-ball the hell out of pitchers and make them work more. As i type this, Kwan hit ANOTHER triple. And watching Naylor man-handle CHI has been fun as hell. You would think the Sox fans would stop running their mouths.... but keep doing it, and Josh will keep the RBI parade going 😄
Mmmmhmmm.. little ball... little ability to score too against many of the playoff teams. They managed an "impressive"(snicker) 1.66 runs against Seattle this year... WOOOOOO
I hope the Mets or Cleveland or the Mariners wins it all. They all have championship droughts and the Mariners have never even played in a world series.
Excellent analysis and clips to buttress arguments. Not a false word spoken in this breakdown and I know because I've followed them intimately all year. Cleveland has been sensational at execution from many directiona. Let's go Guardiac Kids! 🔥
16 rookies, most rookie debuts since 1922, plus a few more players who are in their first year with Cleveland, all but 3 have not played in Cleveland before 2020, a shortened season. Youngest team amongst all MLB *and* AAA rosters, second youngest MLB team in 30 years. This is not a Cleveland Indians roster. These are the Cleveland Guardians.
Everyone talking about Dodgers, but didn't they have best record last year? And didn't a "Hot, Young Atlanta team" dismantle them in the playoffs? Guardians are indeed dangerous, because they don't have any pressure on them to win!
That Atlanta squad was LOADED with talent and young stars. That's not what's going on here. We put this together on accident and management has no intention on building on this at all. They won't spend a dime.
@@330wiz7 Guardians have youngest team in majors! Mckenzie, Bieber, Quantrill are in their prime! And we got at least 2-3 young arms ready to come up from minors next year! Not to mention guys like Benson, Jones, Freeman, Naylor and Arias ready for action! I'm not even naming guys like Roccio and Valera killing the minors! How is Atlanta doing better than that?
Cleveland has the least pressure out of all the playoff teams in both leagues. They can just go out and have fun, play there game, and see what happens.
I’m a Cleveland fan as well! Go Browns! I didn’t see this one coming. No team wants to see us in playoffs. Period. But I have to say, we may have alittle pressure on us now in a short time I’m writing this-they had scored again-we have turned into one of the greatest stories in baseball.
That's my fear. Going to have to go up against three outstanding starters in McClannahan, Springs and Rasmussen. I love the Indians/Guardians but I can't see them getting out of the first round. The Rays are a extremely difficult team to beat. It doesn't matter who they pitch they all do well. I expect the Rays to win in 2 or 3.
@@michaelshaffer3393 It’s a tough test no matter if it’s TB or Sea. TB is built just like Cle. Hopefully, they sell out and Cle will play well no matter the outcome. I still don’t have any expectations being an all Cleveland fan.
Their Culture is very good in their clubhouse, they genuinely believe in each other's talent and abilities. They are the youngest Baseball team in the MLB and they have a good coaching staff.
The Orioles say hold my beer.. Baltimore might not make playoffs this season but the birds went from 100+ losses last year to 80 wins so far this season and will the lowest payroll in baseball and top ranked minor league system in mlb the future is bright for the O's
You couldn’t be more wrong …Yankees without judge fight with Boston for last place there’s no one on the Yankees outside of Judge that can hit at all. Worst hitting Yankee lineup since 1969
@@jayclarke9611 with all due respect and good will I disagree...the Guardians have almost no veterans 17 players debuted this season...how many did the Yankees have debut ?....
@@ricshaffer6723 rather have rookies than bad Baseball iq guys like Donaldson Gleybor Hicks and Cole....DJ s done also... I'd release or trade ALL but Judge&Nestor Very very poorly constructed 250 mill team ....NYY... Closer? Ace starter? Set up relievers Hitters batting over .270???
It's SO weird being from Seattle and getting to actually pay attention right now. I get two glorious days of blind optimism until that sweet sweet anxiety makes me train wreck! God I missed this!
Theyre not winning the "whole thing". Be lucky to make it past one round. Better hope they dont play Seattle. Ms only gave up one game to em all year... a 4-3 win for Cleveland. Ms pitching have a 1.66 ERA against Cleveland in 2022. Guardians aint goin anywhere.
Really shocked by this team this year. These guys are having fun and playing great ball. My only problem is this was all on accident. Management had no intention on this team being good and they have no intention on spending ANY money or trying to improve on this year. And that sucks.
I disagree about intention. You look at the Lindor trade and we got two for one (plus prospects). The book Bieber and Ramirez. You get Straw for superior defense. We got lucky with rookies - that puts them in first place this year ahead of schedule. But - there is definitely intention in this design. Not a lot of money. But also not a lot of fans twisting turnstiles. So...you build with what you have.
Very exciting team going forward -- even though next year Minnesota & Chicago will be healed up. It's the youngest team in the majors! The payroll is ridiculously cheap; no excuse for the Dolans not to grab a few decently priced (PITCHING) free agents to get us a few more wins, and better odds against the Yankees & Astros.
I'm an Astro fan. Cleveland is dangerous. The Tanks win by the long ball. They can't play small ball when the homers aren't coming. Cleveland like Houston can manufacture runs like the Stros. The Jays match up with Houston also. Yankees I don't worry about. Houston owns them.
The only thing that scares me is if they are peaking at the wrong time. There's a lot of young guys, can they keep their egos in check with the all the attention being thrown at them lately?
I was thinking the same thing earlier today, but if they didn't get hot for the Twins and White Sox series then who knows how much closer the race for the A.L central would be right now. Hopefully they can keep hustling and keep winning.
When should they peak? There’s only 11 games left in the regular season. Cleveland does have a hard time against pretty much all of the projected playoff teams. We’ll see, I hope they do well, its be a really good season as they overachieved expectations. Out of all the playoff teams, Cleveland has the least pressure to win which makes them real dangerous.
@@joshuaferrell384 I would guess starting to peak a week or so before playoffs would be ideal. But like I mentioned they needed to be playing good against their division rivals.
There’s another team in the A.L. Head and shoulders the best team in all of the A.L. October is when they step it up, I won’t say the team as it should be obvious.
Would be interesting to see Cleveland actually win the AL pennant although I don't think they will. I did think they have a solid team when they played the Dodgers.
LMAO... Theyre not winning the pennant. Astros unfortunately are far too strong, and the only team thats likely to be able to take them down are the Yankees. The Mariners have the pitching staff but not the offense, and before you or anyone attempts to suggest the Ms are nothing compared to the Guardians.. lol Ms hold a 6-1 record against Cleveland this season. Seattle owned them. That one win was a 4-3 victory... Seattle outscored them 30-10... not even close. Shut them out twice and held em to one run twice.
You mean *if you manage to beat the Mariners*, who whooped you for 6 out of 7 games last month and would've had a season sweep if it weren't for one inning with some questionable umpiring and uncharacteristic pitching
@@matthewvetrick276 yeah but that's where we swept y'all 😂 all kidding aside, you've got a great young team that's gonna be fun to watch for years, and anything can happen come October! Best of luck!!
@@matthewvetrick276 they got shut out twice and held to 1 run twice. Managed an AMAZING 1.66 RUNS A GAME against Seattle. Right... look right past Seattle smfh lol
You haven't said one damn thing that doesn't also apply to Seattle, and Seattle has a better bullpen and a deeper rotation than Cleveland, and also beat them in the season series. But sure, they are the "really dangerous" team.
@@henrybiggs3113 Do you have a problem with what I said, like is any of it demonstrably wrong? If so, say so and actually demonstrate precisely WHY it is wrong.
@@heinleinreader / You said all of that, just like you made the first comment... Why I got to be the one with a problem because you're going off about them not mentioning Seattle...🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽 Just gonna attack me the same way huh...??
@@henrybiggs3113 I believe it was you attacking me dinkus. And my critique was very pointed. They commented that Cmeveland was the most dangerous team in the playoffs, and then gave a picture perfect description of Seattle as a description of Cleveland. When you add in that Seattle actually won the season series against Cleveland, one has to wonder what a braindead prat is doing commenting about the viability of the Indians at all. And one has to wonder why you want to go Republican and say I attacked you by not letting you get away with insulting me and attacking me. Call me stupid again and I will really defend myself from your blather. And I commented on your statements. You assaulted my personality and intellect. If you cannot see the difference, then you should certainly not be here commenting at all.
No disrespect to A judge but the Yankees do better without him the Guardians do without J Ramirez. Ramirez is the MVP if most valuable is what it means
