200 motels is one of those "I have to be in the mood for it" movies. But once you start watching you automatically get in the mood. It's just pure genius in a bottle.
When I went to the local pawn/music/head shop her in 97 I was thrilled to find a plethora of Zappa CDs all of a sudden. He told me he’d give me a deal. 5 items for $20. But I was only limited to 5 items. I got to the counter and told me I could trade in item in for what’s behind the counter. I took my chances and got a sealed copy of 200 Motels on VHS. This was like 98 so I still had a VCR!
It's ok. Intellectual music often goes over the head of the uninformed. That's why Zappa is regarded as a genius composer and you are just another irrelevant internet mook.
