As a native of the Thousand Islands, I take the side of the restaurant owner. Let George have Heart Island. "He and his wife loved to vacation in the Thousand Islands." Doesn't even scratch the surface... THAT is a great big story... He was building a massive vacation home. Had it's own pool, bowling alley, elevator, separate boat house for their collection... even a power station. In the early 1900's... His wife passed before it was completed though. I grew up watching it come back to life and being rebuilt. Here's another Great Big Story from another town in the county: Little Trees Air Freshener from Watertown, NY.
New York state! Hello? Many of the Thousand Islands are in Ontario. IMO, a better way to describe the location of the Thousand Islands is within the St. Lawrence River.
Well carbon dating has lab costs and has staff cost. Also, noone said that was the first piece of paper where the recepie was written on. Also, carbon dating might not be the precise to destinguish a couple of decades
@@BJGvideos why would they, one of them will lose and consequently lose a big selling point of their business. Also this hardly will clear the doubts. These are just claims made by both sides.
“Part of,“ it is the McDonald’s secret sauce. Just because they balance it a little bit differently means absolutely nothing. And I believe they add a little mustard powder as well.
So, is there any actual dated menu or media evidence to support the claims of being first? I expect there would be archival evidence of any popular new dish being originated at a top internationally famous hotel like the Waldorf-Astoria, such as newspapers, magazines, or restaurant ephemera. But even for the Thousand Island Inn evidence may exist such as an old printed menu or a mention of their popular dish in a local newspaper. When a little restaurant invents something popular, usually there's an article about them and they cut it out and hang it on their wall. The creation is something they're proud of that they don't forget.
I can't stand it my mom likes it on her salads with cottage cheese along with boiled eggs, pickles, and ham. I didn't know it was on a big Mac. I just started liking those lol
What is the purpose of the word 'actually' in your title? What is the difference between: "Who Actually Created Thousand Island Dressing?" and "Who Created Thousand Island Dressing?"
So the thousand island dressing is created by the people of thousand island, while two businessmen argued which one of them bring it first to new york. Right.
It's nice to know all the history about the sauce and all, but the way the video presents at first few seconds looks like there's a bird shitting on top of burgers at the public patio.
