Early in the vid I meant Bittersteel when I said Breakspear. If even one person points out my Freudian slip I swear to the seven I'll delete the channel and myself
Bloodraven using a boar to kill the man who almost made the Targaryens go extinct while also manipulating events so he would end up as an omnipotent king is the ultimate 4d chess move
Honestly would not suprise me. Given how he just said "Just give me milk of the poppy and let me die" it seemed like he just wanted to peace out anyway.
We never actually see Robert’s dead body. Varys spirited him away to Essos, faked his death, and shaved his hair and beard. Robert is actually Strong Belwas, he’s a chadly fat warrior and he always lets his opponents give him a scar before he kills them which is the only way the boar got a hit in. He and Barristan are old homies because he spared his life. Robert Belwas is also the Harpy of Meereen, he’s the one killing Daenerys’ subjects to sew discord in her government so he can overthrow her and usurp the throne again just to prove he can.
Boaros Boaratheon - 1st of his name, slayer of Robert, stretcher of breastplates, lord of the pork chops and protector of Tyrion while he sleeps in the pigstay at Winter-fail 🐖 👑 🔥
Not directly related but think this is a good place to say it. Cersei's plan wasn't to get Robert drunk & have him die hunting. The plan was to keep him drunk all the time so that he'd do risky things. This was so when eventually he died, accident or otherwise, no one would look into it. Ex.- If Robert had been pushed down some stairs one night most people would just assume he stumbled because "well he's always drunk".
Its a crime against humanity that we never got to see Robert drinking with Thoros of Myr and Tyrion. I'd bet money that they were absolute bros during the years of peace.
List pf the Best Targaryens. 1. Aegon II „Dragon Cock“ first of his name. 2. Aerion Brightflame 3. Viserys III 4. Brynden Rivers (minus points for being a Blackwood) 5. Aemond one eye (minus points for attempting to kill our Golden Boy)
I find it interesting that most people connected to the weirwood magic only have one eye. In the show continuity, Alys Rivers is definitely connected to the Weirwood magic, so it's possible Aemond also is going to be, and he's Aemond "One-Eye", plus Bloodraven is "one-thousand eyes in one" and Euron, who's most likely a failed student of Bloodraven, is called Euron "Crow's-Eye" and has one glowing eye, reminiscent of Aemond's fake eye.
There actually is an example of warging into a person in the books- Varamyr Six Skins wargs into a woman in one of the prologue chapters (probably aDwD)
@@OurHiltsHurt He is quite successful in warging, it's just a) It's his "second life" so he can't return to his original body b) She is not a warg so he is stuck. I think it was a plot point that he was trying to father another warg so he could enter his child after death while keeping his abilities.
I always really appreciate how ASOIAF has some magical elements but they’re not the centerpiece of the story and we’re not dealing with wizards, wands and elves the whole time.
I am wholeheartedly convinced, that oftem, these books are way too overanalyzed. This is sick. Who killed Robert Baratheon? A fucking boar. GRRM is smart, he understands symbolism. He likes mysteries. But sometimes a dude is just a dude and not another dude dressed as a dude that pretends to be a different dude. Its absurd. Also, making this boar anyone in disguise, takes away a lot of the meaning of that entire incident. Whonkilled the mighty usurper king? Just some animal, he didn't react quickly enough to, due to being too drunk. And who made sure he got so drunk? The awful woman he treated badly for all the wrong reasons. It makes sense. It completes his character. Cersei killing him, is dumb, but in character for her. Robert dieing to a boar, is dumb, but in character for him. Its also pretty realistic. You can be the most badass knight ever, if you just slip and fall in your tub and hit your head badly enough, you'll be a vegetable. Thats not fate fucking you over due to some evil mage doing something, it's just you having bad luck one time and it changes your life forever or maybe even ends it. Sometimes, a guy just gets kicked by his horse, falls from a wall, stumbles off a cliff or otherwise dies stupidly.
Yeah my taste for bloodraven has soured mostly due to community expanding his role to some deity of destiny by trying to have him be behind every single little thing. It's supposed to be more realistic and unpredictable setting. If you put a puppetmaster there, it ruins the whole thing. besides as far as I can tell Bloodraven is not this multiconcious being that could arrange this kind of shit.
We are overlooking the fact that the warg responsible for the boar attack could be someone who hides their warging. So it must be Mace Tyrell because no one else has ever beaten Bobby B in a fight. He found out Renly was trying to marry Margery to Robert and he had to intervene.
Cersei was for sure trying to get Robert too drunk to function 24/7, but honestly… imo no one did. The best thing about ASOIAF is that sometimes… shit just happens.
Another banger, keep it up y'all. Honestly feel as if Aerys the First, is a little bit of a wildcard for a lot of the theories/actions that spring from Bloodraven. Personally think it was him that rediscovered the framework idea of what the Song of Ice and Fire was.
Bloodraven is the ultimate puppeteer. Bran, Euron, Boar King and god knows how many others. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if Bloodraven had been controlling Littlefinger to control everything.
I'm hoping that they make a Robert's rebellion spin off. I always thought that would be epic. We need Bobby B in his prime 😢. Also im here for all of the Matlida references 😂
Hello I love your guys episode personally I think Lancel getting Robert Drunker then normal stopped Robert from doing a bane, picking up the boar and breaking its spine with his knee. Additionally may I suggest a topic for a future episode, What if Eddard demanded a trial by combat and won aka what if ned lived I know their hundred of videos about this already but Id love to see your two thoughts on the matter.
Yeah in The Mystery Knight it is either Bloodraven as a face changer or someone in his service that saves Duncan from that assassination attempt with the well and makes sure he isn't implicated in bringing egg to the Blackfyre tournament
I really like the Benni'Jesserit comparison. The idea of Bloodraven and The Weirwood consciousness trying to create their savior is interesting. And if it goes like Dune they're going to find out that trying to make the ultimate being means you have something really, really fucking hard to control.
I have a Bloodraven theory - I believe he "pruned" House Targaryen from the time of the Great Spring Sickness up until his banishment, and then orchestrated Summerhall for revenge through planting dreams in Aegon V's and Jenny of Oldstones' heads.
If the Lannister’s hadn’t pumped him full of roofied wine then Blood Ravens boar wouldn’t have even got a hit on Robert. Robert was handicapped from being the chad king in peaceful times that he created for the realm + he was roofied.
Let’s be honest - Ned not putting out and being Robert’s paramour once he went to King’s Landing is the real culprit. As far as how much he weighs, at least 425 - 450. Thinking Vince Wilfork as a comp
Do a What If Cersei died before killing Margery and the Seven Kingdoms are ruled by her and Tommen before Dany or the Night King arrive and how all unfolds..
I genuinely believe the wraith of Lyanna Stark finally had enough Dark Magic to finally destroy the realms of men and bring about the end of all civilization, because she knew that Bobby B was her greatest obstacle to her horrific reign of power.
20 seconds in and I can already tell you who is behind it. It was clearly Stannis shadow magic baby. Stannis already knew of Joffrey… parentage and decided to speed along the process.
The three-eyed crow/weirwood/Bloodraven is pushing all of the Targaryens to be obsessed with fire and The Long Night, supposedly to prepare them for it. Instead they blunder and kill another and their dragons. You would think after centuries of this he would realise he is not being helpful. Maybe there is a second power influencing things in opposition. But also, it seems fitting for GRRM's politics this story is suppose to be about. Many characters wanting to do the right thing, but have different ideas on the method. Others thinking they are the chosen one. But they all act in self interest some more than others.
Another one for you guys to consider, what if Syrio Forel had his sword with him when the guards came to take Arya. The guy took down three guards with a wooden sword, do you think he could have killed Meryn Trant. If he did kill Trant, what would happen to Arya's storyline, or Barristan Selmy's since the kingsguard had a spot open for the Hound, meaning he didn't need to be dismissed. Dany would die, since she wouldn't be saved, etc etc.
I would say that Robert is between 350 - 400 lbs, based upon drawings. I knew guys in high school that were between 6 ft 6 inch and 6 ft 8 inch tall that were that heavy.
The boar. Duh. Honestly, it’s Lancel working on Cersei’s orders. Because she also had other attempts that failed. Bloodraven could easily have manipulated events for Robert to have died earlier. Even after involving The Starks. Why now? Fate certainly exists in this world but there’s also a more cynical and indecorous pattern of pure unfortunate, coincidence that happens sometimes.
My theory for why Bloodraven would kill Robert and set the Starks and Lannisters to war: To devastate the realm! He's either working with or the tool of the Children of the Forest Forest; they want men weakened so that they cannot stand against the white walkers, that they'll be even further devastated before eventually defeating the white walkers, leaving Bran (as their puppet) to rule over a broken land and lead them further down the road to ruin. Bran as king will make sure humans grow fewer and weaker, preparing for the Children to take back Westeros. If Bobby B lives then he'll keep the realm united and more likely to defeat the white walkers at the Wall, or at least the North leaving the rest of Westeros relatively intact, and too strong for the Children to hope to take back.
It was actually Borroq the Skinchanger who killed Robert he literally wargs a giant Boar 🐗 . He was intorduced in Dance with Dragons. It was so Stannis can come to the wall and let him through, now he is unleashed!
On Prophecy being "stupid". God is real in the ASoIaF universe and his name is George, he even writes some funny dialogue for his characters complaining about what cruel god would create this world. So the prophecyes are for us the reader not for the characters thats why it basically doesnt help them at all usually but it is really fun for us. So you will have some vague prophecy that the character could never understand like Danny fearing the Perfumed Seneschal and then in the next chapter Tyrion is on the ship "Stinky(Fragrant) Steward".
