Here's something to ponder. God told Abraham that his offspring would be in captivity for 400 years. There are 360 days in a Jewish year. 400 × 360 = 144,000. I believe the 144,000 is a symbolic number representing the antetypical people who will live through the tribulation and be delivered by Jesus at His coming.

I think the question about ignoring or denying the Holy Spirit’s warning, then repenting later may have been in reference to the “unpardonable sin” in Matthew 12:31-32. I used to believe this meant ignoring the Holy Spirit, because it’s true that if you ignore the Spirit long enough, you can become numb and deaf to His guidance, and then Romans 1:18-32 happens - which is a terrifying thought! But in Matthew 12, the Pharisees had just accused Jesus of casting out demons by the power of Satan. Jesus responded by calmly pointing out that a house divided can’t stand and if Satan went around casting out his own minions, he would be sabotaging his own operation. But then Jesus said that “blasphemy against the Spirit” and “speaking against the Holy Spirit” would not be forgiven. This is more active and aggressive than just not listening. They had taken something the Spirit was doing through Jesus and assigned it to the Devil. Why is this so critical? Because for the next 2,000 years after Jesus ascended to Heaven, God would work with individuals, leading them “into all truth” through the Holy Spirit. (John 16:13) If you deny or blaspheme the Holy Spirit, you’re speaking out against the way God reaches you and others, which has not been by might or power (dividing seas, raining fire from the sky, etc.), but by His Spirit. Zechariah 4:6, John 16:8 So it’s important to listen to the Holy Spirit and a God Who is all-knowing AND has your best interests at heart (why wouldn’t we, except our sinful nature wants its own way), but Jesus was referring to something a little different in Matthew 12. See Mark 3:30

@indrajfonseka8293you are so completely wrong that there isn’t enough time to answer each point you have completely misunderstood. I can only assume that you have never studied the Bible for yourself and are just regurgitating some vomit you licked up by someone else or you have read parts of the Bible with no help from the Holy Spirit. For the sake of your own salvation and that of those who actually listen to you please pray for guidance and study the Bible for yourself. Please.

@indrajfonseka8293 You’re referring to the “veil” mentioned in Isaiah 25:7, which is the separation between humans with a sinful nature and their holy Creator. But in 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 we see that the Holy Spirit is actually the One Who can begin to pull that veil aside so we can begin to see and understand spiritual truth. Until that happens, spiritual things seem foolish to us. (1 Corinthians 2:14) Proof? God gives us evidence, not proof. But He gives us more than enough evidence to have faith. You don’t need faith if you have proof, and faith in Jesus is the only way we can be saved according to the Bible. Acts 16:31, Hebrews 11. Example: I experienced one time thoughts in my head of how I wanted to respond to my boss firing me, but different words came out of my mouth. I believe that was the Holy Spirit but I can’t prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt. I just read this: “…do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” Luke 12:11-12 You’re right we don’t have access to the Tree of Life now, ‘And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,” Hebrews 9:27. We all die the first death, and sleep in our graves until Jesus comes and resurrects His people. But the 1000 year reign you’re referring to from Revelation 20 is not on Earth. 1 Thessalonians 4:17, we meet Jesus in the air, Jesus Himself said the place He was going to prepare for His people was in His Father’s house (that’s Heaven, not Earth). “I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:2-3. According to Revelation 20 and 21, AFTER the 1000 years pass, Satan and his demons, and the wicked, will be judged and destroyed, and the Earth will be recreated. Then Jesus earthly reign, prophesied all through the Bible, will begin. Jesus should be King of our hearts now, but He doesn’t have the allegiance of most in this world now. He will then.

@indrajfonseka8293 Regarding your very last statement: so, John 3:16, for example, only applies to males? 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂ Or better yet, please provide the Bible text that says that Jesus saves males 1st, then after 1000 years He saves females! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️️

Even if you've made it clear to someone that you disapprove of something and then "like" the post to "be nice", it may eventually convey that you've changed your mind. Better to "like" a post that doesn't conflict with your principles.

Pr. John Bradshaw and Pr. Eric Flickinger, could you please explain to me how you could answer that man's question about forgiveness and not base your answer on the shed blood of Jesus on the cross where he forgave the sins of the whole world? 2 Corinthiians 5:21 is at the very heart of what it cost Jesus on the cross to gain our forgiveness. Jesus, who knew no sin was made to be sin for us. Sadly, many sincere Christians miss the the power of this verse. In Christ we are forgiven saints and this grand truth is grounded rock solid in the sacrifice for sin made by Jesus on the cross. This is what willl break the human heart like nothing else when we deliberately choose to sin as in this man's story.

Thank you for your excellent comment. You are correct. Without an understanding of the matchless sacrifice of Christ on the cross, there would be no real hope for anyone. A number is always called a figure, a representation or the quantity of the figure or figures it represents. For example, as the context is prophecy or prophetic symbolism, the 10 horns of Dan 7. The horns is symbolic, but the quantity is an exact count. You can’t say the number of that horn is symbolic so it can represent any quantity. The 144,000 is the quantity of the symbolic Israel. In prophecy, quantitative number always represents an exact figure. It’s in the context of numbering of God’s people who will represent the save, the sealed people. In Numbers 1, the numbered and the unnumbered. The numbered are the representation of the people or families or clans or of the matured people. The practice of not counting women and children must be considered. The 5k were given as a figure but those are the counted men in Jesus time which He fed miraculously. But it doesn’t mean that they are the only ones which been fed. They are the representing quantity of all who ate. The same principle applies to the numbering of 144k, they represent all the people who have received the seal. Rev 7 have 2 parts , the numbered and the unnumbered, an indication that the numbered are the representatives of the unnumbered but together they are all the saved people. Conclusion: a number or a quantity is not to be interpreted as vague unaccountable quantity. 7 is 7 literally even it’s attached to a symbolic entity. 144k is a quantity of a symbolic people representing the unnumbered saved.

The first question really interested me. I find it difficult to be happy about a child being born without marriage vows first. When this happens to a sibling it's hard to accept. Our parents brought us up with a very good Christian background. Church every Sunday, etc. I don't know how to react with my sibling. 🙁

Ask yourself the following question: Does God Love that person? My belief is that there is only one answer to the question as God loves every single person. Your goal then should be to treat them as Christ would treat them and to remind yourself in those moments when you’re struggling that they are a child of God and that He loves them. They are precious to Him, regardless of the choices they make or the circumstances surrounding their birth.

@@robinschwartz6977I had a child without being married. God forgave me. I found it was church people who didn't forgive me and my child. It was never my child's fault. I was told to have an abortion. I didn't feel that two wrongs made a right. I know others who had the abortion and the church members excepted them. That was over 40 years ago. I'm still a member of the church. I know that Jesus loves me. I went on to treat the next young single mother with love. She and her family are in to church. It's wrong to not love the person. Just hate the sin.

Coming from a former Sunday keeper what makes you think that "Church every Sunday" has anything to do with your question. I hope that you found a way out of the sunday keeping and follow Jesus Christ instead...

@@gpl422sda “Church every Sunday” was a legitimate explanation of the poster’s regular Christian experience. They were just trying to explain that they grew up in a church environment, but they are still struggling with this issue. We all struggle in some aspect of our Christian experience and we are all at different stages in our Christian journey.

Do you have to be specific when you confess your sin? There are sins you can remember and then there are sins you cannot. What i am saying is, is it possible to be lost because some sins are not confessed becsuse they are not remembered?

Psalms 139:23, 23 “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” If we pray this like David did the Holy Spirit will point out our unknown/hidden sins. I need to do this as my mind goes blank when I pray for forgiveness.
@itiswritten
@itiswritten Месяц назад
Your question is very important. However, it reveals something in your thinking that you need to address. Should we believe that God would tell a sincere Christian that they may not be saved because they couldn't remember a certain sin to confess? No. To look at God in that way is to portray God as very unjust and unfair. You can only confess that which you remember, and you should. I would encourage you to remember that God is gracious. As you pray, you can at any time ask God to forgive you for the things that you cannot remember, knowing that He will certainly do so. In Psalm 139:23-24, David prayed, "“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” We can expect God answered that prayer. Pray in faith, confess your sins, and worry not that you might forget something. If God wants you to remember something, He will bring it to your mind.
@itiswritten
@itiswritten Месяц назад
No doubt God will bring to your mind the things that you need to be aware of. You need not worry about forgetting things you want to remember when it comes to confessing sin. Ask God to bring to mind what He wants you to remember, and He will. If you are worried about forgetting, make a list and talk to God specifically about what you have written on your list. Praying as David prayed will certainly help. He prayed that God would point out his sin, and no doubt God did that.

Do you think the 144.000 are part of the catholic priests ?
@itiswritten
@itiswritten Месяц назад
Thank you for your question. A faithful Catholic priest who follows the light of the Bible and accepts Jesus as his Lord and Savior could become part of the 144,000. However, if you are asking if the 144,000 is a group of Catholic priests, the answer to that question is no. The 144,000 are those people who are alive and ready to meet Jesus when He returns. They "keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus" (Revelation 14:12). Be faithful in following the Lord Jesus, surrender your life fully to Him, and you, too, may be in that number.
