It's no surprise that Johann Sebastian Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor is thought to be iconic Vampire music [audio: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7JQXgn-cubQ.html], even though Bram Stoker never incorporated anything like it in his classic Dracula movie. But the connection between Orchestral music (a pipe Organ specifically) and Vampires alone wouldn't necessarily explain why a string orchestra composer would be a vampire. But we can go deeper. One of the most influential and popular Vampire games in Japan was 1997's Castelvania: Symphony of the Night for the Playstation 1. This was a reboot of the classic NES and SNES Castlevania franchise, and reinvented the mechanics, taking it from its roots as a traditional action sidescrolling platformer to a new genre, one which would later be known as "Metroidvania". Yes, it was *this* game specifically which led to the portable Castlevania games to entail exploring a large, open map and collecting various abilities to progress through specific areas, and which led to Castlevania being the second half of that genre name. I bring up this game because of its music, which was composed by Michiru Yamane and featured a mix of classical gothic Victorian and modern rock - and which, in the opinion of the writter of this script, DjinnFor, has quite possibly one of the best video game OSTs of all time (seriously, listen to it on youtube some time). Anyways, in a 2013 interview with the website Gamasutra, Yamane cited [as per this interview: www.gamasutra.com/view/news/207767/A_classic_interview_with_Castlevania_composer_Michiru_Yamane.php] Bach as her primary influence, though you can also see broad similarities between her work and that of the 1984 musical Phantom of the Opera, composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It too involved a combination of classical orchestra and modern rock (specifically during the song Overture - Phantom of the Opera), and the musical was based on a book about a gothic horror-style monster along the same lines as Count Dracula and Frankenstein's Monster. Speaking of which, the 1962 film adapatation of Phantom of the Opera actually used Bach's Toccata and Fugue as well, as well as the horror films Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide (1931) and Black Cat (1934), further reinforcing the association between the piece and sinister villains or horror. In any case, perhaps thanks to the popularity of this game specifically and the franchise generally, the association between gothic, victorian-era vampires and gothic, victorian-era string and organ orchestra music is pretty iconic amongst both Japanese and Western gamers, and so in my final shot-in-the-dark theory, perhaps the composer of the Erich String Orchestra is a regal, pale-faced vampire whose Doppelgangers regularly feed him ritual sacrifices which he feasts on to drain them of their power.

Mare isn't revolted by kyouhukou, they are friends I believe. Aura push insect-related tasks unto Mare several times in the LN, which Mare doesn't seem to mind at all. That is how I remember it at least.

Ainz really meant it when he said "Death is a mercy that frees you from suffering in Nazarick" I mean judging from what happened to all the workers except Arche... each one of those poor idiots are still suffering within the tomb and i don't think they are dead up to the current volume of the novel.

Pretty sure Imina's and Hekkaren's minds broke within the bare minimum of the first or second occurrence of their torture. So don't expect them to even register what is happening to them. When it comes to internal trauma ripping open the stomach is the absolute worst pain that could kill you just from the shock alone.

Man I only watch the anime since I like the series. But man the Light Novel is totally different. It was so dark and detailed that I even question myself for loving this series. Especially when the scene of Arche's twin younger sisters, where they are waiting for her and talks about living together with her naively.

I still find it funny that Kyouhukou, the Prince of Fear, told Cocytusin the LN that Entoma was the scariest in insectoid in Nazarick.

I believe Touch Me did have the Exoskeleton racial ability, but he would also wear armor (giving him double defense) because he managed to exploit a bug in the game to do so. It's mostly thanks to that exploit that he won the World Champion class and armor. The devs later on patched the bug, making it impossible for new players to exploit it, but Touch Me still maintained that little armor stacking ability as a pre-existing exception.

I got to admit I really like this series and how Overlord has such a large variety of creatures and personalities. Even the most minor of creatures has a given spotlight to show itself and what they can do. I can't wait till a season 4 comes out.

Hi AniNews if you ever read this: Would you consider doing a power scaling video so we can a see a side by side power/level comparison? I only ask because unlike the countless others that post Overlord manga and character RU-vid videos you are one of the few that gives stats. However, what does that mean when we don't know the level for say, an average human? An average monster or demon (that exist outside and is NOT part of Ainz's guild)? The average knight? The average adventure? Etc... That way when you do a video or just mention how Sebas single-handedly destroyed the strongest members of the crime syndicate in the kingdom in seconds... How Shalltear with her pinky-finger stopped Brian's most powerful move-someone who is the second strongest/greatest warrior in the kingdom (as well as being one of the strongest known humans in that entire world according to Clementine )... How Cocytus could just stand there when the lizard-men brothers used both magical and physical attacks against him. You get the point a power/level comparison not between guild member but between them and the various people they fight in the new world outside of The Great Tomb. Yes we know they are all OverPowered but how much? How big is the Gap? I ask you because while most would just give a number you have shown yourself to be eloquent enough to help the viewer see this difference in simple yet clear terms with analogies.

Nothing wrong with being sponsored but I’ll wxplain about how real bdo is with the bad side. It’s extreemly microtransacting, Korean (which means its heavy influences on grinding mechanics above everything else), and a literally an rng end game that sometimes even throws you behind more often than ahead in the gambling system trying to upgrade your gear, with no level cap (no seriously) you literally won’t ever be able to catch up with people in a pvp based game that gambled for years to get where they are. Not only can you not compete you will be kicked out of high level grinding area to attempt to catch up. It’s such a bad system lol! Not to mention the in game store is priced 20$ per outfit.. and each outfit gives you stats for professions that is almost required to do. It’s... yeah.. pay to win.. even with a new item that is used to try to stop the gambling system of the gear grind sold on the store! Almost like they want you to buy it because the chance of actually doing it normally will take years to get a full set (if you can sense random!). It’s a great game with content but I would strongly advise this warning or others off youtube before even buying to know what you’re into. Look for angry peon videos of 2018. He will explain everything good and bad.

"The Worst Appearance" is giving me a big feeling similar to The Thing. Using humans and animals as hosts and morphing their biology while keeping them alive to a malformed version of themselves. I think Maré or Aura allowed Hilma to convince her fellow conscripts to heal like she did or face it & join her tortured servitude.

I really enjoy these videos ^^ one series of videos I'd find interesting is how someone would go about successfully invading Nazarick. Maybe detailing each step the invaders would need to take and preparations they'd need.

Just the thought of being eaten alive from the inside by cockroaches terrifies me. It reminds me of an old B-horror film I watched as a kid a long time ago "They nest". In that movie a new species of carnivores cockroaches eat people in the exact same way. It also gave me a very realistic perspective of what that kind of torture must look like from an outsiders perspective. And it's horrific. It makes me lose my appetite just thinking about it.

There is a lot of evil races in classical fantasy or dark SF (lot of them are based on devils, dark elves or typical decadents creatures) that use living being as basis for musical instruments, distording vocal cords, bodies and mixing actual instrument parts to enslaved creatures to change their shouts of pain in what they call music. For exemple dark eldars had been mentionned enjoying music from customized pipe organs made by stitching slaves and war captives that are finely chirugically modified for their scream to reach a prefect tune... So maybe Chacmool is based on this kind of concept ?

Chacmol who has worst personality and has connection with sacrifice. I came up with an idea how that would work. His job would be to get closer to his victim and gain his trust. After that, victim have to choose if sacrifice himself or his new best friend. Victim whould choose to sacrifice himself but after that Chacmol would transform back and show him how everything was just a lie.

I think this anime is crap! We as viewers are lead to this world through the eyes of Ainz as he transitions from one online game into another. He's a bad guy, necromancer, with unlimited power and cares nothing about the people around him, if they don't directly benefit his own self determined goals. One huge mistake the writers make with this show, is that he's no better then the other inhabitants he encounters in this world. Meaning, although he's an online player in a game, he's a cartoon character in a world of other cartoon characters and although this world isn't real to him, he's not very real to us. So we watch how one cartoon character manipulates, abuses, and terrorize other cartoon characters. Who should we root for? You could say that he behavior towards other doesn't matter because they're just NPC's that don't truly exist to him. However, we're not familiar with his real world (offline) and thus the realm he lives in becomes the only world we're aware of. This is where the writers gets it wrong. This realm becomes more valid then the world we never see. His offline world. His behavior toward others are as unjust as it would be in any world , anime or not.. Although he might know the difference we do not. So he's just a bad guy doing bad things to people who have no power to fight back.. As a viewer, why should his life matter but there's do not?

Might be too late to say this, but isn't Arche alive? Maruyama gave in when he was requested by fans to change Arche's destiny. I believe she's currently staying at the 6th floor of the Tomb, living with her sisters. She was Shaltear's... "Love" slave on Chapter 7's additional chapter. Later on, Ainz gave her the option to be happy after serving Shaltear, which is to say spend the rest of her life in the 6th floor with the druids and other residents.

If Black Desert didn't have the character constantly scream when fighting, and dedicated more time to making terrain a part of combat and allowed you to legit take over places and slowly add powerful NPC'S and create custom loot based off the location rather than a set list of items, I'd be more interested.

I’d imagine Gasho would probably be a gigantic Mongolian Death Worm considering how hideous (the mouth actually looks like a swollen anus with fangs), deadly (extremely potent venom) and powerful (some accounts say they can enter dreams) the myth describes them. It also is mentioned that when the larvae hatch the victim’s (mainly camels) stomach will burst open. Of course the tapeworm infection could be explained easily since he’s probably powerful enough to have multiple kinds of spawns.
