I’ve been following your coverage of VNL 2024 and this Olympic games and have really been enjoying your writing and analysis, as well as timely uploads. Your dedication and hard work does not go unnoticed and I greatly appreciate your content - I have felt much more closely connected to professional volleyball this Summer than ever before thanks to channels like yours and Volleyball Source. I can’t speak to the larger geopolitical climate but beyond that I hope Russia will be able to return to the world stage in 2025’s VNL. Will be very interesting to see what some of these older teams will look like next year also.
Stellar performance for French reception on this game. Poland did a good job, but Ngapeth and Grebennikov were sooo consistent, and they're defense were outsanding. Impressive.
I think Gianelli played a terrible semi final and bronze medal match. Watching the match his sets to the middle were in bad moments and then badly placed, completely tanking their usually good efficiency. I agree with the criticism of Fefe. You have a world class setter on the bench with Sbertolli but you are too afraid to use him to not hurt Gianelli's ego and that lost you two important matches in a row now.
Personally I thought Grebennikov or Brizard deserved the mvp more but I liked Averill and Kochanowski being on the team of the tournament, I thought both had outstanding olympics
I think it was really bad coaching decision by Grbic to not substitute Fornal for Sliwka or Semeniuk. Fornal was not in his best offensively and could really use a break after a bad 2nd set.
My future prediction: we will never see France playing in unbeatable mode and winning tournaments at the same time again and again .Yeah,so so risky but it's my feeling.Last but not least I can't wait to see playing Russian national volleyball team VNL and other major national team tournaments🤩
Correction : N'Gapeth is the MVP of the OG, Brizard is VNL's MVP. In addition to the wonderful work at blocking from the French team (won't talk about the two consecutive 1v1 block of Brizard on Fornal), N'Gapeth did an amazing job of defense at the back of the court to defend Leon spikes. Poland is an amazing team bu volleyball is 50% mental and the French couldn't lose here...
Ngapeth was amazing in reception and defense in the last two games. I don't know why polish team focused on him from the service line, maybe to limit his offensive impact... And the real leader of the team. But obviously, Clevenot and Grebennikov are so good too. When they're playnig at their best, I can't see a better team in reception right now....
