Seanie's perspective is just world apart from Therm's. Seanie is over here giga-braining and theorising while Therm is just running around, winging it.
i spent one day in the skull cavern just farming prismatic shards, and being the NOOB I am I went round and gave them all to villagers, as well as not having gone into town much other than to complete quests for villagers the next day I went to town I was just bombarded with cutscenes, I had to reenter Judi's house 4 times because it kept triggering cutscenes

Not really, it's part of sleeping you just hear a sound. By that standard everytime you level up or see your profits for the day it's a 'cutscene'. They said it's any time you lose control to watch an event or see dialogue. If text came up, then it would've probably counted.
