Except Simon and Richter. They can technically crouch walk as well, even if they’re not fully prone, and yet can’t make it. It mostly comes down to how long can they keep their smallest possible hitbox.

This is a fascinating demonstration of not just character size, but hurtbox size as well. Also, characters that can crawl. But what's really surprising is that some character, like Lucario, that can just sprint under the lava even while their head is IN IT.

It's like shoot 'em up games where the hurt box is just a pixel in the middle of the spaceship model. Unless an active hitbox interacts with it they're golden. Almost all the pokemon, for example, have tiny hurtboxes.
