By now, it should come as no surprise to hear me preach about vulnerability. But how does one start the process of becoming vulnerable and being more transparent? Kevin & I sit down to discuss exactly that. We go over our individual timelines as to how & when the process started for us. Kevin is a therapist as well, so we discussed what it’s like to feel societal pressures from the ages of 25-35, which is primarily his clientele. This episode is loaded with great takeaways and I’m excited for you all to watch/listen! Honestly, from all the things I thought about after breaking up with my ex, I wished there was an Asian male therapist for him to talk to for him to process allllll the BS in his life. Thankful that this representation is out there. Still don’t know if he would have accepted it for himself, but it’s good to know there are people like this out there

JD, this podcast was amazing as always! I loved the insight Kevin brought to the conversation and the discussion about vulnerability. It’s one of the most courageous things a person can do is to be vulnerable. I’ve enjoyed spending the past months trying to do just that and my relationships in all departments have begun to flourish. I loved the relatability and real life experience of how unconditional love stood out to you and how you always try to do better to show up for your wife, so she can experience that unconditional love. Thanks for the content, keep it up!

Listened intently to every word in this interview. Thanks JD and guest for your transparency. JD, I too have been working on dealing (a work in progress) with rejection, people pleasing, better boundaries and letting people see my vulnerable side. Not being vulnerable was my go to in guarding and protecting my heart too for so long. Till it got to be exhausting. I lived with dominant males growing up. Which is prob why, interestingly, I am pretty outspoken. Yet I have trust issues and always on guard with males because of the males I grew up around. The part when you said, it was easy to be vulnerable around your daughter and dog totally resonated. Will be doing CBT work as well. Everyday is a new day. Here's to self renewal. No one is alone 🙏 I also agreed with Kevin, in therapy should be the norm. We all need the training in relationships, navigating through life and self development. It is self mind training. And yes, even when I think I have nothing to talk about in therapy, something always pops up or there's something to be celebrated. Great content. Thanks JD! I am glad there are guys doing the work too. Gives me hope. 😊

Wow I can relate good episode! I didn’t realize until he said it but I never said “I love you” to my parents or anyone in my family until senior year of undergrad either. We also weren’t a physically affectionate family so that something interesting I have to think about. I think the points y’all discussed towards the end right before the rapid fire finally has me seriously considering therapy 😊 got to start looking now

I feel like I can relate so much with loving your dog unconditionally..I also struggle with letting someone in completely because of that fear of rejection or them later leaving

If you feel comfortable it would be interesting hearing your experience going to therapy as a kid. I am going to graduate school to pursue therapy and what to work with families and young people. Would love more insight ! Thank you
