dont forget that this isnt all of it, in a professional environment you will need to know npm, docker, git, deployment, same for backend. along with the backend frameworks.
I am a software engineer with 8 YOE. I work in Data and AI in medical field in one of the biggest med companies in the world. I am a tech lead. CS is my second degree. This video started it all.
I love how general this is, it can definitely interest someone thinking about joining this type of field. I hope to get stronger and more proficient this these areas as an IT major ☺️
you can make webapps and port them to iOS and Android: By using cordova, or phonegap(build on cordova) or Ionic-framework Where you use Html, Css & javascript
They are not as good as native development. For simple static apps Phonegap or Titanium is fine. For anything complicated that has client server communication, it's actually better to use Swift or Java. Tell me about one startup that used PhoneGap and is successful? Phonegap is for people who are bad at programming. And well, if you are bad at programming, your app is not gonna be successful. Better spend that time improving your Java or Swift skills than learning PhonGap, which BTW has extensive API and documentation that you have to read and undestand.
Thanks for telling me about this, i am a hong kong high school student who use web technology fluently and is helping remaking school website. I am currently learning Java as well, but that's a bit complex and i am being quite confused with it... i will keep learning Java and try to be good at programming... Maahd Shahzad
jackendy cherenfant The funny thin is you gotta use your skills to what you can make, using phonegap is not a drag and drop, its building webapp's and porting them to iOS & Android because we got knowledge about webapp's, html, css & javascript maybe even, some nodejs or ruby or php - so why learn java and Objective C when we can make the same as you can by porting our code to your code - its just compiling code - like facebook compiling code from php to c++ Dont work harder work smarter - its plain logics which is whats the web / code are all about
Maahd Shahzad Dude - i agree it ain't as good but if you can't afford to pay developers to build for both and you need a basic app this is the way - you can build a webapp you can do most of that stuff just build a REST api from a nodejs backend if you like use angular or backbone or a similar frontend framework to do routing and all that stuff you got the same output as your talking about Hmm popcorntime the biggest streaming movie services (code is on github) is a webapp compiled to native code with node-webkit facebook compile their code from php to c++
This looks amazing! Everytime I see something about tehnology on your website, I really get exited to start and try to build a mobile gaming app! Can't wait to start
Kudos to your presentation and explanation, it helped a 24 year old tech aspirant choose a field without fear or doubt and grow in the career. Can’t thank more.
You should put on blue light blocking glasses whenever you are working on a screen, even during the day. They will help to prevent you from straining too much, or sitting too close to your computer in order to see, and thus exposing yourself to more blue light. When night falls, ensure you put them on to filter out unnatural blue light from both screens and LED lighting. Quite simply, if you are in front of any screen, pop your glasses on! Wow! This is awesome! The world of technology is moving SO fast that it is simply amazing all of the things there are to learn! Kids today have it so much better and easier to learn a usable skill *and* make money...all from the comfort of a computer and never have to break a sweat OR get their precious hands dirty! I sound jealous? You bet I am!
iOS - Swift Android - Kotlin/JAVA Web App - There’s plenty, but I’ve been seeing JavaScript rise to popularity especially with the development of Node.js
This is THE only video on youtube which fully explains what languages to do for what and how things are done quickly thank you. And do you have to pay a subscription for treehouse?
This really helped debunked those terms for me and now I understand that I would be a great Back End Developer. Thanks for helping shape my future endeavors.
Wow! Thanks for breaking this down for those of us who want to know how this all works. I can't tell you how many people in this field I've asked this question and have not received a clear answer. Today, I finally understand. Thank you!
You make it sound like FE development is the easiest thing since someone who is a designer can also do it. Yeah sure maybe html and css but when you get to javascript you get in a world of angular, react, vue and bunch of other javascript frameworks and libraries that a designer won't know anything about. The point of this rant is that people who are getting into designing know that FE development is not as easy as this video makes it look.
I am 14 years old and I know the basics of html, css and c#, so which field should I go in? like mobile apps, web apps or websites? plus, which languages should I learn? I am very confused, please help me, anyone..?
If you preferred C#, you might wanted to start to develop games over web applications. But if you enjoyed HTML/CSS, you also needed to learn JavaScript for client side development. I also recommend you to learn a server side language like python , ruby on or PHP.
i have qus .i am having a hard time learning core java.coz my teacher didnt taught me c and c++ before that. i have heared before java people should learn c first is that true. if i join your site will it help me to learn java from the deep. and i have have qus to ask ?
when he said, hi.. I am from TreeHouse. Immediately thought it was another youtube advertisement.. lol. Was looking for Skip button. The word 'Treehouse' has become synonymous to youtube advertisement for me.. haha
one thing that turns me off an prob allot of others that too start your free trial you have to give ur credit card details which allot of people don't like to do unless they have tried the site first
tell me any other way to make sure one doesn't just make a new e-mail account everytime the trial runs out. the threehouse trial is actually giving you full access to everything the site has to offer so its not like the trial only includes some basics videos , no, you can actually watch any video that exists on treehouse in the trial version. Asking for the credit card is just a way for them to make sure they don't get scammed as often. You're able to cancel your subscritption within the trial period without ever spending a cent. They don't even check your balance when you sign up for a trial. I singed up for a trial with my credit card (pre-paid) not having enough on it to cover the basic monthly fee of 25$ and it worked. After the trial week i decided i liked it charged my credit card with some money and got charged the fee after the week had ended.
For someone without prior knowledge to Programming, what language would you guys recommend to start with? I was thinking JS, but it seems JS is mostly for simple websites. Idk. Things I'll like to use my programming skills for include, but not limited to the following: - PWA (Progressive Web Apps) - Mobile Apps - Interactive Websites - IoT devices
Wow!!! this guy is awesome, i learn alot about software development in 6 minutes, more than i learnt in a year, now i feel highly motivated ... #GoTeamTreehouse
I can't wait to finish my tech degree i wonder what happens if I finish all the tech degrees im trying to become an indispensable fullstack developer at the equivalent of a Ph.D I am very grateful to someday be a part of a team I don't know what to expect but I'm keeping my head down and working my butt off Thanks Team Treehouse
