I really don't like how it seems someone has to apologize for being a defensive defenseman. You need to keep them out just as much as make them go in as a team. So, what is so wrong with having a brick wall chewing up minutes on the backend?

Although hes physically ready for the NHL, there’s no guarantee he’s ready to defend against NHL competition. This could be another guy who would benefit playing at least in the AHL for development rather than going back to junior even though he’s not eligible (which proves yet again there has to be a rule change)

As a rangers fan I hoped for Zary or Lapierre but I'm ok with this pick he could be a really good top 4 guy could be a potiential guy with Nils Lundkvist

Should a qualifying team win one of the top three picks, but then the powers that be prevent the NHL from ever starting this season up again, how will the winner of that pick be determined if qualifying teams are never eliminated?

I get the feeling his rank is being artificially inflated even if it's only by a few due to the severe lack of top end defensemen this year.

He feels like one of those players that will fall to Nashville. Seriously how many times has another team fallen in love with a player because of size or something else and they fell to Nashville and became a solid defenseman. See: Ellis, Ryan It would allow him to stay in the WHL another year or two, he could partner up with Josi, Ellis, Fabbro, or even Ekholm when he comes up. And Nashville is probably one of those teams that can get him in the 35 point range regularly.

This kid will be the best shutdown defenseman in the league, within the next 5 years. The fact that he is also a right shot is bonus.

Future leafs Dubas don't trade the pick. I also feel like Sanderson or Quinn have a chance to fall to the leafs .

You wanna discuss it a bit? I read also different reports about him and now its getting funny. Atleast 2 of 4 Draftsites you mention noted Schneider, as Player not with high speed and slow first step. Also that his skateing will not reach High End. But they say he has a good stride step what allows him to keep his postion and can hold on faster Players. Now here comes my Problem long and good strides, has nothing to do with Speed and accleration. I read another Reports thats written he is good joining the rush, but he has slow first Steps. Also that his Upper Body "Strength" is more Build, then his lower Body. Another Reports, i found 3 who said. He has a good outlet pass and a good Eye, but in junior Level he get a lot of time for those Passes. That he must adopt this to the more speedy NHL Level. Otherwise he face the same Problem we have with Matheson, that the Panic mode come in. I´m really doubt this Kid why, speed is weak point i found this on more as one Report. Yes that he is build for the right now play. But also his biggest weakness will be, if he cant transfer a lot of his current Game into the NHL Level you get a Brown/Gudbranson Type Player.
