I dunno. You do fielding drills to prepare for the game. Ohtani isn’t pitching, but he is doing just as much work in rehabbing. So he isn’t like a typical DH who doesn’t have to work on anything other than hitting

Shohei has got the edge right now. If Harper gets his avg up a few ticks...he'll get the nod

I would argue Harper has the slight lead, seeing as he is valuable defensively as well. if he can match some of the offensive stats, it wouldn’t be a conversation

He's cooled down a bit. He had a crazy start to the season though and is probably top 5 in the MVP race as of today. He's also a DH however... so he doesn't have to play the field. Curious to see if Ozuna keeps this up. He's on pace for 50+ home runs.

Harper is good, yeah, but a hothead who takes advantage of the game to rage against anything that in the outside World would get the little guy dropped in a second. But he's carved out his own safe area on the field. I find that crusty, and he can't be named in the same sentence with the honorable Ohtani.
