In that beginning interview part where Alex is making eye contact with the camera, you can see her eyes making tiny movements in a very realistic way. Absolute props to the animators who went out of their way to do that
@@olympichoopss that's very cool. A team of animators likely would've still checked to make sure it all moved naturally and fixed up any issues, motion tracking still isn't perfect enough to just get the motion data and leave it at that.
@@olympichoopss it's very exciting to see that technical limitations aren't getting in the way of devs making the game as much as they did when the first LIS game cam out. Really allows their artistic vision to shine through
@@booboobye-gone7040 yes I know. But a lot of the time, the asians they depict are usually on the light skin tone spectrum. And it was cool finally seeing asians who were more dark like myself. For example someone like Jesse from TLOU part 2. But thank you for trying to bring new information to me
Just finished LIS: True Colors for the second time, and I was delighted to find this video with Erika Mori! I loved her acting. I can totally hear Alex in the way she pronounces certain words.
I’m so hyped for this game!! I really hope Johnny comes back to stream True Colors with Aoife. I don’t think a LiS stream would be the same without Johnny.
Like the setting and characters not been so exciting since first game, liked the followups but this one sparks the same feelings as first one,for me atleast. I would love too see this studio tackle a modern story set in a native american community one day if it is one studio that can do it well it is probably this one.
I actually missed the initial trailer release vid on EG but after watching this and remembering the emotion that LIS and BTS evoked from me (and just Chloe) I found myself so excited for this game now and not - for once - for the gameplay mechanics, but for the emotional storytelling that this incredible Company can produce. Thank you for the great interview Aoife and looking forwards to enjoying the journey with you all here at EG
Aha! I knew something weird was going on here but couldn't put my finger on it. Now I realise that Aoife is flipping when she moves to the big pane. I wonder how they arranged things for the voice work, whether linearly through each branch or grouping lines with similar emotions together.. This is, I think, an under-explored area of game development when it comes to how the machinery works behind the scenes.
I haven't been this excited for a game in ages if you don't count the disaster that was cyberpunk 2077. My one friends who isn't big on videogames saw me playing LIS BTS, next thing you know she's finished her own playthrough and made it to the last chapter in LIS. It really gave us a new medium to bond over. We're both ecstatic to see deck nine behind the wheel again, and if it's half as amazing as BTS it'll give us enjoyment for years to come. I'm ready to feel again. (Can't believe I made it through the whole comment without expressing my excitement to see Steph again)
@Zara Basantez it was such a vividly wholesome experience, it gave us an entirely new platform to connect upon. I learned a lot about her through the process, too. I'd like to think it brought us closer together, and watching her experience emotion through a new medium really put a smile on my face. I don't think I have the heart to let her finish the last chapter in LIS though. The 4th chapter was really rough in hindsight.
It is amazing how I empathized with the character so fast. It is kind of like this fictitious character's fictitious super-power broke the fourth wall and affected me IRL.
Who else has come back knowing the game is a 5 days away. It only feels like yesterday I was watching the trailer for the first time in March. I can't wait to play this game, look at fanart, watch playthroughs, looking at fanfiction, everything!!! Can't wait to see Alex's Character I think she'll probably be my favorite LIS character next to Max!!!
Life is strange because at the height of BLM protests last Summer in the U.S., they announced Spider-Man: Miles Morales, as a launch title for PS5. Then, at the height of Stop Asian Hate campaigh (again, the U.S.), they announced LiS: True Colors, starring an Asian protagonist. Alex being an Empath is also timely because this what many claim is sorely missing in the world right now, and why there is so much hate going around. Yes, the timing is pure coincidence for both games, but it still proves... Life is Strange in quirky, unique ways.
Oh my god. Alex looks a bit like me and Gabe looks like my brother. That is WAY too freaky. I'm going to HAVE to play this one. To be fair I would've anyway! Lol!
En: When I played LIS: True colors, sometimes I really wanted to hug Alex and not give it to anyone. =) Ru: Когда играл в LIS: True Colors, порой хотелось обнять Алекс и никому не отдавать. =)
My gosh I'm so hyped! I remember having played Life is Strange only one back in 2015 and loved it so much, I never replayed it or played any of the other games when they came out, but recently, like a month ago or something, I was searching for games that I had played years ago so that I could replay them, and I remembered Life is Strange! I then google it, and find that there's a new game coming, and that the original and BTS are getting remastered! So freaking hyped honestly. Good thing I googled Life is Strange to catch up with it, or else I would've played the originals even though the remasters are coming in like 4 months! And also, I really hope the next game they make is a continuation of Max and Chloe's story Btw, watch how they named it "Life is Strange: True Colors" instead of "Life is Strange 3". Wanna know my theory? Well, they're remastering LiS 1 and Before the Storm because Life is Strange 3 will actually be a sequel to Life is Strange 1, it will be a continuation of Max and Chloe's story. And a month a two ago, before True Colors was revealed, a reddit user leaked some stuff about True Colors and a 4th LiS game. Here's what he said: (Also for it to be less confusing, I'll add an @ when I'm the one speaking) *"Hey all, heard some info down the grapevine about upcoming Life is Strange games so I figured I'd share it with you folks. First off, Life is Strange 3 is being developed right now by Deck Nine (devs of LiS: Before the Storm.) It's being developed on Unreal Engine 4 rather than Unity. It's a full-fledged 5-episode sequel. I've heard that it's been referred to as "Life is Strange: True Colors" in development, but I'm not 100% sure if that's the final title. The game takes place in the US, but not in the Pacific Northwest (I don't remember where for sure, but it either takes place in the Midwest or the South.) The game will be a return to a grounded, small-town setting (similar to the first game.) The main character is an Asian-American woman named Alex. The main superpower this game revolves around is the ability to read minds. Different characters will have colors surrounding them representing their emotions (hence the name True Colors.) Music is also a really heavy focus in this game, moreso than LiS 1. The game should be announced pretty soon. Afaik it was supposed to be announced last year, but COVID-19 must've messed things up."* @ End quote. Alright, so we know this guy was legit and his info was solid, but this info ain't the interestin' part, this is: *"There is also another Life is Strange game that I've heard is in preproduction, although I'm not 100% sure about the details on this one as it's still a long ways off. It's supposed to be a direct sequel to the first game and it'll feature the same protagonists (Max/Chloe). I haven't heard about this in months so keep in mind it might be cancelled at this point. As for other Life Is Strange news, Life is Strange 1 is being ported to the Switch. I'm not sure if the second one and BtS will be ported as well, but I'd imagine that they'd be doing that. The ports should be announced whenever LiS 3 is announced. If you have any questions or anything feel free to ask! Edit: Just wanted to emphasize that I'm not sure if the fourth Life is Strange game I mentioned would canonize any ending to the first game. I just know that if it exists, it involves Max and Chloe in some way."* @End quote. So, what do y'all think? I know some people are gonna say that this "another LiS game which is in preproduction" is actually LiS 1 and BTS remastered, which might be true, but if it was, why would Deck Nine say the remastered versions were gonna release at the same date as True Colors (if you buy the ultimate edition) if it's in preproduction?? Y'all know what pre-production means right? IT MEANS PRODUCTION HASN'T EVEN STARTED YET. But maybe, just like the leaker said, it might be cancelled at this point... But I hope not! We need a sequel to LiS 1, Max and Chloe's story needs a continuation!!
Gravitate torwards Alex? Understatememt of the centuary XD. I love this woman and I will do all in my power to get a happy ending for her!!! I will not stop until she rides with Steph into the sunset 😆
I dunno, I really liked LIS and the Before the Storm spinoff, but the second game just didnt work for me and I lost interest halfway through.. I'll probably give this a go if it appears on Gamepass.
I liked the second cause it was more "real life" in a way that Sean didn't have any powers so like every choice u did actually had consequences and u couldn't go back in time. But i agree it is bit slower pace
I'll say this it won't come close to Max and Chloe, but it should be a good game hopefully with no woke crap like number 2 had. Personally they should of release a sequel with Max And Chloe but yh,
I don’t knows. As much as I love Max and Chloe, this might actually surpass the first two because the powers hits closer to home than telekinesis both time travel. Alex also seems like a deeper character due to having to relate to numerous characters. Her power alone allows for deeper narratives-imagine how trippy if we get to explore people’s inner world and nightmares. The facial expressions are also promising. I would have my expectation too high but let’s give this a chance
@@charleskulvet4911 fair dues but in opinion nothing will, beat Max and Chloe I related to them so much also the other characters Kate, David Rachel amber. And the Voice actresses 🔥 were brilliant.
@@Borderlines maybe wait to see how the empathy powers work before u make a decision. The game creators are so innovative it’s hard to imagine what they can make!
@@Borderlines This one allows for deeper narrative though. More psychological and triply. Imagine traveling through peoples inner worlds and nightmares. Already better than telekinesis .
Alex's power to detect emotions helped uncovered a mystery and saved an entire community from a greater evil. Max could time travel, but in the end she still couldn't save everyone. Try drawing some new conclusions😑
