How does someone own a public block wall on a street? The irony of how ppl want to own things in the name of protecting them im sure isn't lost on banksy
He traveled to Palestine so obviously he had to have passport stamped. The customs and border people have to know but I don't think it would be cool to out him even if we knew who he was. Did Gunningham go to Palestine? I personally hope he never gets outted though. If I was him Id go to 10 or 20 of the poorest places on earth and paint the locals houses and enrich some poverty stricken.
Brilliant, there is many other ways to trace him besides that, my friend was a private detective and could find out anything about anybody with enough money, its who you know in sensitive places, the governments know who those banksy is, if he is a real person, it seems to be a group of ppl
I don't know anything about art personally mainly because I have no interest in it. But having said that I can appreciate the immense skill, scope and vision Banksy has. I don't think many people have the ability to convey a message in their work as effectively as Banksy does. He/she or whatever Banksy is is clearly a gifted individual who transcends across all spectrum's of society and ultimately is able to connect with a wide range of people and brings happiness to a large portion who view his work.
The shroud of anonymity is great publicity, it gives a mystique to his persona almost like that of a super hero giving a deeper meaning to his works. Banksy is more than one person
I don’t like how the host was cutting off the guests and how he was mostly talking to the art dealer and putting aside what the other guests had to say
Andres! Thanks for your comments. I'm so alarmed that I watched the show back and here's what I found: art dealer got twice the time of the others individually - but bear in mind the journalist's experience of Banksy was limited to her investigation into his identity and Darren the street artist did give very concise answers. As for interruptions... I counted perhaps 3 - and only to move things on rather than cut them off.
Banksy doesn't make millions of dollars off his artwork most of the time the artwork is removed from the wall and sold in auctions without his consent so the only time you really makes money is through art shows that he hosts and other small art pieces that he might sell
Investigative journalists should realise that outing an already bandied about name, could be consequential to that person. Banksy is clearly widely respected, while others see him as a vandal. As it goes, his work has been defacing property through art, which is illegal. So, his identity confirmed by someone who just wants to put their career on a higher rank isn't really a commendable thing, as it could be consequential in lawsuits, court, prison, public shaming, or on the other hand appraisal which he isn't seeking, as anonymity is also a huge part of his work for all the reasons stated and more. Fair enough, it's the role of the investigative journalist, to seek information and spread it but the point is to be anonymous, so it's a breach of trust in a sense. I don't know, has this comment meant anything? Whatever. Also, the art dealer who owns his Port Talbot piece just talks waffle. Money - you can't sleep on it, or eat it. Correct but it can buy you a bed and food. Also, talking about how the pollution and elements will destroy the work so he's had to remove it, in order to keep it in tact, is a juxtaposition in itself.
Bullsh__t moving his work it should be left were it is if painting gets destroyed by pollution that's the whole thing about the work , leave it alone ,
All this high production value on something that has already been discovered lol. everybody can know if they want to know. The only thing surprising me is that noone been able to get new pictures of him.
The shredder not working properly wasn’t part of the plan. Banksy posted a video explanation after the stunt showing that it worked when he tested it. The shredder was supposed to destroy the entire canvas.
Incorrect. Banksy's face is right here, hiding in plain sight on the 'net. Copy & search; Banksy Unmasked for Real Darren knows it's him, but loyalty would prevent him telling.
Destruction is a form of creation, from a Graham greene story very published. Also in donnie darko part of driving them. So...think a little more n listen to Aurora, was she at the auction
Yes, there are some detractors of Banksy. Seems to me they fall into two lines...One are the Hoity Toite ( folks with money, and or art critics), and the other is folks that are jelous, and stupid....but that could both. Anyone who doesn't like Banksy, is just jelous, and stupid. I don't care how much money a person has...If you cann't easily see and understand what he is saying in his work, you are just plain stupid.
It’s a nice thought and a good way to hide, but he’s in documentaries and has been filmed. He was shown making the stencils, putting them up, and painting them. Plenty of people know him in real life and have since his tagging days.
I did a art s degree. But I. No oil painter. Just stencil ..other artist will know who he is. An I'm Shaw he s mum know s who he iz. I was stenciling before the name ...got known .. like Manny utuber s do not show there face. An I follow Manny of them .
Didn't know he used stencils..... I though he showed up with just a spray can or a paint brush. Tbh I though Banksy was alot more than stencil art. A little disappointed but still impressed by his political messages and poking fun.
He plans the works, makes the stencils himself, and paints the shading, accents, and details by hand onsite. Anyone can stencil, but his imagination and talent is still beyond a simple stencil. If he didn’t use them, it would take too long and he’d be caught by police. He has to get in and get out very quickly.
Making stencils is harder than freehand you absolute buffoon. They are multilayered and even the simplest looking ones you personally couldn't reproduce
One s sume one. .cume s out. With. Who he is or who are thay. Or two people s .Manny say he s from a music group.......lol ..nuthing. New. About we not Sean he s face. It's all about the fun in it. Every thing elce i$ just a bonus ..cash card or Doller bill s it's like other artist bean spy s trying to find out who he or she is.
It's an interesting one this isn't it. So to the outside world Banksy is one person. But from their point of view I imagine that they work best when there is a team who all have signed NDA's and keep everyone guessing
