Who is Briar? (Lore Explained)

Let's not forget that Briar is the first champion to have a positive interactions towards Talon ever! Let's gooo

i like the implications that briar herself has formed her own version of humanity because she didnt want to become a single minded monster like other ones in prison

LeBlanc and the Black Rose might actually be the worst evil mastermind ever. Not worst as in “she’s so malicious and devious”, worst as in actually just bad at it. Literally every plan she’s made has blown up in her face.

I want Briar and Gwen to travel the world together. Nothing grand, just two unlikely friends travelling around.

the artist behind the splash art put all of the sketches for it on their twitter and basically with little descriptions of what they are, it seems she's now residing near Vladimir's castle since that's where all of the sketches were made and basically working as a "guard dog" for him at the moment

We actually already knew about Swain's knowledge of Sion. It's mentionned in Sion's bio that Swain uses him to scare parts of the Empire that are tempted to secede into compliance.

If i had a dollar for every child that was experimented on by the black rose, only to escape and wreak havoc amongst noxus i would have 2$ Which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice

She could've went to Demacia after escaping which would explain her splash art and could change the balances in Demacia's current state with Sylas.

briar did actually talk to sion in her prison teaser. he shouted something, and briar answered by calling him by his name

I hope her "escape buddy" becomes a recurring character. He is the first person she convinced herself not to hurt, at least that we have seen.

For Sion : in her interactive teaser, there's also a voiceline where we hear Sion yells that he is hungry, and Briar telling him "yes, I know, me too u_u"

I could imagine Briar in Project L, that'd be cool.

So darkwill wanted to make a being that didn't rely on food or energy to keep alive And then made a being that only thinks about sustinance 10/10 would do again

It would be cool to see Briar meet Rell, because Rell was raised to be a weapon and Briar was made to be a weapon.

By the way she was actually created by Vladimirs blood! Since Vladimir is one of the oldests hemomancers and a vampire himself the black rose used this to their advantage and made Briar the failed fighter.

I love this character concept. Simple, lovable, yet with some basic depth to make them interesting.

I mean her voiceline with Vlad might imply it was his blood she was made out of, I mean if you were going to make a hemomancy bio weapon why not have the base material come from one of the most powerful hemomancers.

One of the things that I'm still thinking it's about Thresh that he's also on Noxus since he got free from the Shadow Isles, if we talk about expanding or develop the lore more it's not that Riot doesn't have stories to continue, I'm hopeful that Riot is doing something and they are not telling us... yet.

Her actually using the pillories power for her own benefit is really really cool. I thought the design of her running around in shackles, which she keeps breaking and reforming instead of just taking it off was stupid, but now im sold!

Doesn't Swain willingly keep Sion locked up until he needs a living weapon? Then he orders Sion to be dragged on to a battlefield and released killing friend and foe alike? That's how I read Sion's story, but I'm also taking LOR lore into account.

The only thing that doesn't convince me is calling Briar a vampire. Maybe they did start with a vampire concept but Briar ended up becoming what she is now. The thing is, they advertised Briar would be a real vampire, unlike Vladimir. But no, she ended up very similar to Sion, ironically. But since she isn't a zombie and she very clearly isn't a vampire either, considering the way she was created, that would make her a homunculus.

The coolest part to me is just how in some aspects she’s really mature and understands, but in others she’s completely new to. She wants to go out and explore the world and learn about cultures, and that’s just an awesome part of her. But she also still understands about how to control herself, balance, and that there’s more to life then simply blood. It’s awesome the balance they struck with her lore

briar is the type of person that sees wilbur soots jokes and ask "is anyone gonna eat that?" and not wait for an answer

So, I was thinking about "escape buddy". It is made to look like a goofy mistake on Briar's part. "Ha, she took a Janitor for an escapee, she ain't the smartest". I want to argue with that. I think he was escaping. Briar confirms herself that she hears other cellmates. Would she just assume first person she meets is escaping? Its more likely she knew he was one of the people she heard. Whats more is the fact, he was 'strolling' right outside of the cells. I highly doubt Swain's guards allows just normal janitors without training to go there, since, as we see just a bit of blood can send Briar into frenzy. Of course someone must be cleaning around, but its probably either one of guards or trainded staff, not a random nobody. Even if somehow this was the getup of that trained staff - Briar must have seen them already and knew that it was just a janitor. There was no reason for her to think he is another escapee if he seen him or other staff before. He either saw Briar attack the guard and wanted to use her as distraction for his escape OR was there as secret agent to make sure Briar escapes. One more thing that got my attention is ominous whistling at the beginning of the launcher interactions. We all probably assumed its either the guard or one of the prisoners. However. Once Briar escapes andis outside - we hear it again. It cant be the guard, as she killed him. It can't be one of the prisoners, since they are still in thier cells - not outside. Who was whistling?

No worries, they promised new Lore with the Teemo ASU late 2024

I know the Vladimir voice line is mostly for fun, but... If we take that route of "dad" (even indirectly), it would make it that Briar is now somewhat family related to Gwen (Vlad is Viego's uncle, and Gwen is sort of Viego's child (More like Isolde's child, but if we say Briar is Vlad's kid, we can say Gwen is Viego's kid xDDD))

I thought that voiceline where sion ends up with her was one of noxus's attempts to take her down.

Demacia has Sylas while Noxus has Briar both giving their respective kingdoms a hard time for throwing them into the pit after their services were no longer needed.

Fact that I thought is importamt to mention In some clients (Latam, LAS in my case), many times during the second and third phases, a lot of subtitles popped up, with no corresponding voice whatsoever. One of them was sion (THIS WAS AUDIBLE) loudly groaning, to which the subtitles responded something along the lines of "I know sion we're both hungry you don't have to complain that much" so it's basically guaranteed that sion was also in there
