Another thing to note is that Spider-Man 3 got the Star Wars prequels treatment. It was panned by critics at the time but is now loved by those who enjoyed the film as kids. However since Billy maguire is as old as Spider-Man 3 itself, the meme hasn’t died or changed even though the views of the people who make the memes have. The meme slowly went from a negative to a positive connotation yet the actual meme itself didn’t change.

People love the jagged edges on this character, you could never capture the same feeling again if you tried to recreate it, he's so goofy and alpha at the same time, with cringe levels over 9000 that come full circle into alpha energy, like he has zero control over his intrusive thoughts and just lets them out with no filter or standards. I'm glad that this part of SM3 is being understood a bit better. The film overall wasn't great but the vitriol directed towards this sequence at the time completely baffled me because it felt like I was the only one in on the joke sometimes. Definitely one of the high points of a fairly uneven experience and I'm glad that people are memeing on it
