WHO IS EILEEN?! HOW WE KNOW EACH OTHER :: HOW WE MET 

HEY LOVES! so I am way behind on the Philippines vlogs -- but am uploading a video Eileen and I made talking about how we know each other. It was filmed the last day of the trip BUT there are still tons of travel vlogs to come. xxo

This reminds me of a Swiss girl who had started at my granny's place for an exchange program and I got very close to her and when she left (1998), I missed her so much. She did visit a couple of more times but I have no idea where she is and what she's doing. Don't have any contact information. But she got me a set of colour pencils which I still have and cherish as a souvenir.

I love your story of how you two met, kept in touch over the years and how you fell in love with the culture and cuisine. There's a lot of story like yours. Even the kids go and visit the Philippines after all years past, to find their nanny just because they miss them and they've learned so much from their nanny. And what touched me the most is when you said she is family. You are a humble, grateful and very nice person and I like that about you. Take care and always be safe.

Always good to see these kind of relationships. Often time when women takes care of other family’s kids. They care for them like their own. And that bond carries through their lifetime.

As a Filipino who was born in Manila and is now living in Kansas City, MO, I am always excited to see any Americans or other non-Filipinos discover and promote the positive side of culture and life in the Philippines. In the past it was not explored in the media but these days with social media it’s great that the Philippines is getting this kind of exposure. I love your videos and keep up the good work.

There's also a part of in episode where a Filipino family welcomes Bourdain to their home. And the mom was a nanny of Bourdain's directors... and the story is just soooo heartwarming... 😭😭😭
