@@laaylowww2 I was very blessed!! My Mother has 3 saying!! I’ll only do one of them. It’s not how much you make, but it’s how you handle it!! Wise woman. I was not in debit, had good savings, and 401k I was able to drawing in at 59 1/2. Now that I got my lump sum my saving is replenished. My attorney I didn’t hire till the last 75 days before my hearing and good thing I did. She found 65 pages and my 2 MRI disk has not been included from the additional information I summited. She brought thus to the Judge and he follow her and saw what she brought to his attention. He was the vocational person To hypothetical questions. She answered no to both. Then I knew I have on my case. But my attorney called me after we all disconnected from the call told me I have one. Lump sum only took about six weeks which included the COLA raises from the past years also. Was immediately signed up for Medicare also. Good luck with your case!! 🙏🏻
I went to a attorney in Salem, Oregon and he told me SSDI will send me in to have my legs amputated, put me in a wheelchair and say “there you go, now wheel yourself into work. I went to another attorney and had my SSDI in less than six months. Don’t get discouraged.
I'm 26 I work 3 hours a day due to pain flares a CT scan, x-ray of my joint shows degenerative arthritis, joint disease. Rheumatologist diagnosed me. He said the kind I have usually seen in people three times my age.
I don't think Arthritis alone qualifies a person. I have Osteoarthritis, but, I have like 6 other disabilities as well on top of that. Actually Osteoarthritis is pretty low on my scale for disabilities as far as seriousness goes. It took me three years to get mine. You have to have pretty serious disabilities anymore to be approved.
I was born with a learning disorder and doctors said I can be qualified for SSDI in the past . It does sound nice to get around 1500 a month . But I have been avoiding the idea . Because I want to work hard to get my paycheck . But a friend of mine told me I should take the opportunity . Now I don't have a job and all the jobs I have been seeing are commission jobs . And I will have to pay for the class for me to work in there company.
Why I didn't get to be approved from my claim for my disability vyou know I can't even work anymore I been disabled since October2017until now I haven't been getting any thing and I feel like I been cheated come on icantbarely walk and use my left arm andhandihope that someone could help me out
I filed and had a horrible attorney. She called the night before talked for 20-30 minutes and I was suppose to know and remember everything we spoke about I forgot.the question before from the next question. She was no help during the trial. Didn't appeal. She told me as we left, I told you not to forget. I politely said maybe next time call way ahead of time and act like the person who you are representing isn't messing your day up just by looking at them and I walked away. She is from a big law firm here in Jackson Ms too. My problem is i can't make doctor appt cause I don't have a car or money nor family no friends nothing. My boyfriend is so controlling he is no help either. I have chiari malformation and my health is going down hill.
hi marie based on the information you provided, you dont have enough or continuous medical treatment, your lawyer should at least help you find a low cost clinic, and its much easier to defend you, continuous doctor visits or prescribed medications is one of the main eligibility to got approved
I was denied 3 times. And hired a lawyer to help my case and I'm still waiting. I suffer from paranoia schitzerphrania. And it makes it very hard to work. But I've heard of people in wheelchairs get denied and I feel hopeless to social security benefits. Hopefully they can help my case and I can get as little as 300 every month. Anything helps. But living off my parents for now.
@Demetrius Jenkins Here is my situation I file for unemployment in 03 2020. Received unemployment from 04-2020 to 06-24-2021. I became disabled on 05-2020. I filed my SSDI application on 09-28-2021. Do I have any issues with SSA due to my unemployment? Also, should I be awarded SSDI benefits do you think this will affect my back pay? 64 years old. Thanks.
If you're planning on applying for SSI or SSDI benefits anytime within the next year and a half and expect to get a quick answer and qualify.. YOU WOULD BE BETTER SERVED BY PANHANDLING IN THE CITY WHERE YOU LIVE YOU'LL BE MAKING SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 50 AND $60 A DAY FROM HANDOUTS.. RATHER THAN THE 30 TO $35 A DAY YOU'D RECEIVE ON SSI OR SSDI IF YOUR WORK RECORD IS LESS THAN 10 YEARS AT 40 HOURS A WEEK AT MORE THAN $12 PER HOUR.. REMEMBER SSI SSDI ARE CALCULATED ON THE AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU'VE EARNED OVER YOUR LIFETIME AND IF YOU ARE MAKING LESS THAN 10 BUCKS AN HOUR EVEN FOR A PERIOD OF 10 YEARS YOUR BENEFIT WILL BE ABSOLUTELY MINOR MEAGER LESS THAN SUBSEQUENT MONIES TO SURVIVE ON..
@@roxannemua9350 in the United States it is not illegal.. and anyway if you were homeless had no money no food no friends no family no matter your situation it's your only option so who cares whether it's illegal or not they can take that illegality and shove it up their sphincter
WHAT PEOPLE WANT IS NOT DISABILITY WELFARE BENEFITS FOR THEY WANT EMPLOYMENT, JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! They want to be able to contribute to society and not become dependent on it. They wanted JOBS!
SSDI is for those who are disabled & do not have the physical or mental ability to work. The program is not to be used as income replacement for those who can work. It's not an unemployment solution.
Social security disability is a freaking joke. I was disabled by the VA, and social security denied my claim 3 times. One federal agency disables a person and the other denies it.
When that happens you can take it to Federal Court which is higher than the Disability Courts. But, you have file as soon as you get your third denial. No one tells you that. I learned through tons and tons of research. My son now has a case pending in Federal Court because his judge did not follow the guide lines laid down by the Social Security Administration. But, it is a lot of work and it is just wrong when they refuse to accept documentation from doctors and specialist. We live in Kansas. Kansas i rated #49 in getting an approval. Only Hawaii is worse than us. My son has been fighting for his for 6 years now. But, it is in Federal Court and he will get all of his backpay. His is actually SSI, not SSDI, but, you can still fight it in Federal Court if you don't let any time lapse between your denial and your filing with Federal Court. SSI they cannot deny back pay, but, with SSDI they can, so you have to fight for that as well. Also the VA should help you with your case. My experience from people I know, like my brother, got his within 3 months with the VA helping him.
My VA Disability was at 70 percent (non-service connected, in others words I couldn't prove my injury occured during time of service despite having all documentation). Both my nephews were in the Air Force and were in Afghanistan and Iraq. They both got 70 percent Disability in service (PTSD). They only get $600.00 a month more than me. When I went in for my Social Security hearing the judge and I bumped heads. I told him what was on my mind (not nicely either). He enter a court ordered (Not Eligible Until age 72 years old). My words upon that were (Go Pack Sand Where The Sun Don't Shine). I was threaten with contempt of court and I said go ahead I don't have any money anyways. I walked out and have not dealt with Social Security.
My health is not to well..Even though its not that bad.I have gotten fired from my jobs because of my depression anxiety and bladder probelms.I dont qualify for Disability.I was fired from my last job because of my issues..I missed my hearing because My mom had passed away in 2016.Now after all this time Social security is reopening my case ...The problem is is that i cant life off of what SSD wants to give me.
I understand that. I struggle every single month because my check is not enough to pay my bills and buy food and pay co-pays for my medicine. But, I don't have any choice because I can't work. So, I struggle and get by the best I can. Good luck to you. The amount you get is determined by the amount you paid into Social Security. People with higher paying jobs get higher Social Security checks.
I am a 70 old woman , I had wrong birthday record so I want to change my birthday , I was in a PTSD envoriment , if your phone No with chinese mandaring help , my complex situiation to say clear but I could not by English , only on the phone talk, I already called all chinese lawyer who all afraid to help me.
Way too many people collect SSD because welfare doesn't pay as well. Unless your crippled get a job. If you can drive raise kids sit in front of a computer or play video games go on vacation you can get a damn job.
@@SandfordSmythePa assistance $ 250 a month for each child. No cash payments for adults unless under special circumstances. Last time I read about it. Could be more now. I think SSD is $500 a child $1600 for an adult a month. So better off on SSD. Free healthcare. Can understand why people just go on it. Poverty paying jobs are not worth it. But if I can work with a bad back hip and knee at 56 as a nurses aid so can someone half my age. Now have to do this till I am 70. Could never just sit at home all day. Alot of Advil and get use to the pain.
@@mojojeinxs9960 I stay away from moral judgements of unknown people. If someone goes through the difficult process of disability determination, I will consider them legally disabled. People paid into SS Disability Insurance for this protection. If someone choses to work through pain issues and has enough financial resources for them and their families to weather long periods of not being hired or retained, then they are free to do so.
Well I'm judgemental and there's too many people sponging off society. Maybe it was the way I was raised. My mother had polio as a child. She raised children kept clean immaculate house. She definitely could have been on SSD but wasn't. No one is guaranteed a life without inconvenience or suffering. I take care of a gentleman who was born blind worked all his adult life till retirement. Just do not agree for someone not to have a job if they can work.
i worked on disability claims, if you have a diagnosis of alcohol addiction, youre not qualified, its not a disability, as this is something that you can control, disability refers to body systems, if you stopped drinking you need to be sober at least 7 years, eligibility is very strict
And it just makes it harder for legit cases to get through. My niece is autistic, has BPD and confirmed high functioning anxiety. She’s had twenty eight jobs since she was fifteen years old. She’s 31, now. Holding down a job for more than a year is a fucking STRUGGLE for her. She’s only NOW trying to get on disability for the first time. But the system is only getting more gatekept and less user friendly every year and the sheer confusion of it all is enough to discourage her from trying. Now she’ll just go back to torturing herself with an underpaying job because she couldn’t handle college to get the degree for the jobs she COULD do without one but that nobody will train her for. Oh, and she’s bloody smart. But that doesn’t matter
