Most Man Utd fans who've watched his Ajax side would take him at Old Trafford instantly, problem is our board and CEO are slow and have little to no understanding of football. Ten Haag and Van Der Sar as DOF would have been a dream combination especially if we judge by their track record so far.
Exactly like people saying Conte but I would rather have a Ten Haag as he 1. Plays good football 2. Improves youngsters 3. Hasn't had a huge budget so could improve further with better players 4. Would play Van De Beek more often 😂
Going to Manchester United would elevate him to the levels of Pep, Tuchel, Klopp, considering the quality of players they have he would be an instant success won't even need to rebuild only to just stamp his style of play like Tuchel did at Chelsea... But Ole is at the wheel who knows till when, if it happens he gets sacked I prefer ten Hag over Zidane and Conte!
He makes Ajax fun to watch and one of the best teams in the world to follow as a "neutral". Then you end up loving their stadium, the atmosphere there, their sharp kits and the 3 Little Birds song too...and you become more than a neutral, lol
@@olivermorrison2342 I admit to not watching Ajax much before him, but with their illustrious footballing history I believe you 100%. That Ajax team we faced in the UCL in 2019 was scary talented and before that I was pulling for them to beat ManUnited in the Europa League final in 2017. I did watch Ajax v Besitkas last week so yes, it's the more recent coaching regime.
I can actually see him becoming united manager in the future, some of his philosophies such as playing youth players, playing attacking footballs also fit uniteds philosophy.
@@KiD2x2 Jokes aside, I believe Ten Hag is destined for something bigger and something that suits his style more. United isn't that destination in my opinion. Like someone else said on this post. The fans need chaotic football at Old Trafford not his tiki taka esque approach, and I doubt it would work out in the PL.
Trust me that's what United need in terms of leveling up. I see it suits the rigid formation started by Solskjaer he must learn to adapt his games to the concepts used by Ten Hag.
Just stay at Ajax. One of the only clubs which will permit a process into a fluid attacking style. Most other clubs will sack their trainers before they got things going. Besides, what bigger glory then to try to win the CL with a young Ajax side?
Erik Ten Hag would be beautiful at Manchester united, as a united fan. It's about time that the club get a proper manager that plays an attractive style of football, especially with the talent and squad that we have now. Players like Bruno, Sancho and donny would flourish under the management of Ten Hag. Because they play the one touch pass and go football. Ten Hag would suit Man United perfectly and take us to the heights Ole can't.
Dave back at it again with another amazing vid 🙌🏾 Would love him at United & i think we’d be able to compete and i believe he would be able to adapt his methods to fit our players and the premier league.
As an Ajax fan, I can give some extra insight to this because what no one outside the Netherlands knows is the type of man he is. Ten Hag started off pretty bad at Ajax to the point that the directors of the club, Ten Hag and Tadic sat around the table and discussed what had to happen to change things around, and sure enough they did. From that point on it's been going very well for Ajax and Ten Hag. Major European clubs do not always give you this respect and time. Also, at Ajax, he has his authority because he's earned it. No one is above the team and everyone knows that Ten Hag decides what happens, we do not have the types of players who think they're above everyone else, do not need to defend and should always play. For example, Pogba, Ronaldo, Messi and basically all the other top tier players with massive salaries. I don't know if Ten Hag is the type of dude that is good at managing a bunch of those players in his team. Right now, everyone at ajax has to play for team results and if you don't, you don't play. But at clubs like united, where Ten Hag is the smallest name of the whole team, I don't think he is the type to make them all fall in line and make them work for each other. Also a big part of Ajax success has always been the youth academy, Barca has given up on theirs for years, with no money to spend there and dirty football politics, he will surely end up as the new scapegoat. Basically, Ten Hag has earned his authority at Ajax, but it took him a very long time and he wasn't always taken seriously by both the press and fans. His results ended up speaking for him, but those took a while too. He's not very funny or charming that doesn't speak impressive English either, which could help with the media, he's just very smart when it comes to football. Given the time and the confidence he will succeed, but confidence and time are the two things lacking in basically all top tier teams who are in search of a coach right now.
I don't have an exact source, so I might be wrong, but I recall Ten Hag saying he wasn't interested in many teams abroad, only Bayern Munich would tickle his fancy. He seems a man who enjoys trust, calm, stability and a long term vision.
As a Cule, Ten Hag is an absolute dream since Valverde left. I hope we really go for him next summer. About time we had a decent manager since Enrique.
@@ramonfrancois9306 He won't join mid-season, that's for sure. Doing amazing at Ajax right now, but i'm hopeful about the next season, cuz this is an opportunity he wouldn't pass.
@@shailovchauhan958 Why is it an opportunity he wouldn't pass? Barca is a graveyard for coaches atm. The club is suffering from expectations that are way too high compared to the quality of their players. A bit like AC Milan between 2010-2020.
The only manager I want to see at United. Has tactical and technical know-how. Shows tactical and formation adaption based off opponents and gets the best out of a team year in year out that basically sells their best players at the end of each season. If he can do it with Ajax he can definitely do it with united.
haha ''if he can do it with Ajax he can definitely do it with united'' naah mate, Ajax over united any day! You really think Mctominay, Fred, Dalot and Teles, lindelof and matic can handle this style? ..ten Hag is no fool and will give united a big pass. United destroys managers. The fans think they have amazing players, but honestly its all kinda mediocre.
@@elzinga87 look at how Fred’s performed in the last 3 games when we press high, he’s been a much much better player. Dalot and Telles last night also played well? And you think Ten Hag couldn’t improve them over a much longer period of time 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Crazy how players improve when the team is managed differently isn’t it?!!!?🤣🤣
@@elzinga87 completely wrong. Second place last season in the premier league and a European cup final. They can perform to a high level and have proved so before, without doubt they will improve under a better manager and structure.
Before we got Tuchel I wanted him at Chelsea main reason being that the whole possession with a purpose type of play. Chelsea were always the team that would have a lot of possession but do nothing with the ball, we still even do that now at times.
@TheHammerofsarcasm pep nowadays is a fraud. One bad game for a player, buy 2 more to fill that gap. Erik doesn't do that. Instead he finds solution. And listen to Dave's words carefully..his playing style is slightly different to Tiki-taka. He himself created his own version of Tiki-taka, which is contemporary to modern football. Tiki-taka is too slow for modern football. That's why Pep had been exposed in big matches sometimes. Fortunately, City's money can cover that up somehow. And whatever Erik is doing, there are only upgrades to come...
If ten hag signed for United, would it be similar to lvg era Dave? United traditionally don't play that style of football, crowd enjoys chaos, klopp would of been perfect.
LVG never had a squad anywhere near as good as Ole’s. Plus his total football style would be perfect for Ronaldo, just create chances for him to tap in from a cutback. The guy would score like 40 goals a season and the football will be brilliant. We have enough highly technical players to do it.
It took Ten Hag years to get the appreciation he deserves by Ajax fans. Now, he's loved and appreciated by pretty much all of us. He won't get that time at United or Barcelona. + His appearance in the media is often quite bad, and his English is worse than Van Gaal's. He's literally perfect to stay at Ajax for yeaaars.
What are you talking bout bruv? We immediately loved the way he made our club play. The so called experts said he wouldn't fit at the club and took it personally. We Ajax fans love Erik for his typical Ajax and Dutch way on how to play football.
@@TheGympert Well some of us Ajax fans were a little pissed at the way Keizer was fired. Keizer was fired in the season that Nouri, one of Ajax's biggest talents, collasped on the field during a preseason match. That incident had an enomous impact at the even younger squad than the one that would steal the hearts of fans around world one year later. But after his first full season, i would said 90 percent of Ajax fans got on board and supported Ten Hag and have ever since.
@@TheGympert Looool. Even the season after the UCL semi finals some fans wanted Ten Hag to leave and simply said his assistent was responsible for all tactical masterplans.
Would love to see him in the EPL with the current managers it would be incredible. United or spurs would be perfect. That style of football would be great to see going head to head against Pep. Very tactically well set up, just unsure if he would be able to adjust to the pace and strength.
Congratulations on creating a narrative and stereotype based off nothing. What makes you think I'm a united fan or think pep is a fraud? Considering I just stated it would be great to see the managers play against eachother in such a good league with one of two teams but somehow you turn and flip that into a non existent agenda.
When Statman Dave talks about a good coach after Oles lucky run is about to set off, u just know he's Ole out but respectful enough to be vague about it. I see u Statman Dave
Eik ten Hag has strong Cruyff DNA, so the perfect club he should manage next is definitely Barcelona, and he would do wonders with all those talented La Masia young players.
I dont think they can even appointed him but also it doesnt help him reach the level of tuchel and hansi flick if he go to barcelona it just the same as ajax but he doesnt win title because there a madrid if he want to step up his level he need to go to united he can make good use of united player they even have many talented young player thet need to be develop also playing van de beek and matic instead of that rubbish mcfred
@@KEN-tf9sr There's a story that he already agreed in principle to join Barca who has a great relationship with Ajax, besides his contract only runs through 2022, so let's see what happens.
@@Treeesmith I'm with you smudger. These 'fans' need to show some loyalty to a club legend. Ten Hag has absolutely no connection to man utd or our fans.
I love Ole but I dont think he can handle this United squad effectively. I think Ten Hag is so perfect for the united Job. At the moment Barca need someone like Xavi who can do the Job Ole did at United for them. We need a Ten Hag who can lead us to the titles we deserve. At the moment I think Ole should be sacked. We are just not playing well enough for the personnel we have at United.
you know he got a lot of hate in the dutch media even after his champions league campaign. Being said that the players in that team were just good and nothing to do with ten Hag. And only since this year they are actually praising him as a coach. His carreer as a trainer is just perfect, instead of Frank Lampard or van Basten who both started their trainers carreer at a big club with high expectations. He instead perfected his coaching over the years by coaching youth teams and lower clubs before joining ajax and who knows what comes after.
@René van der Gijp which is exactly why he should go there. He's got the perfect project. To bring a club that is founded on attacking football and utilising the youth academy back to where it belongs.
Truth is he should be United’s replacement. For 3 years I’ve seen the same football tactic, formation as lucky escapes from 18/19 season, even with new signings, tired of this
He learnt that from Fergie.. Where were you 10 years ago mate?.. This “Dutch” style takes years to learn and implement, he’d come in and flop, would you give him the time needed to get things right? You want Ole out after two years, 7 games into a season and 2 points from top, why the fuck would you wanna replace him with someone who would need a good 3/4 years just to get his style implemented?
@@Primitive01 Because he has a clear style of play not afraid to take risks and tactically Shrewd and will improve our current squad more proven unlike the clown we have in charge! And do you have the patients for Months? Cos his teams can't play that type of football in a few weeks. That took a lot of time with Ajax too. But he will not leave Ajax yet....so keep searching.
Biggest problem: time ... with ajax he has the time to develop his team and to develop players in the Top there is no time for development or time no result you just get fired Second problem DNA its in the AJAX DNA to play this footbal no team except Barcelona maybe plays like this from youth to top
Been wanting the Man United board to get him since that champions league run of Ajax in 2019!! This is the time for the board to get him. Might be tough to expect him to leave now especially when Ajax is doing well again in CL this season. So best bet for United is to find the best interim solution till summer and get him for next season!!
@@Treeesmith nothing wrong with wanting to win a title. You people are the real plastics here or maybe ur just rival fans the majority ole ins are rest of the teams in premier league teams. We are just playing very bad footbal.l we are Manchester united not some mid table team. And yet we are struggling to win against mid table team even with worldclass players.
I like it when you say vertical tiki taka with a purpose. Pep's football bores me to tears but Ajax play like a 5 a side team with pace. Would love to see what he could do at United with our attacking talent
Hi Dave, I was watching this video, and felt like ,it's about Arsenal, both Arteta and Ten hag are disciples of Pep and adapt from Johan cryuff. But yeah at some point arsenal wanted to sack Arteta and go for ten hag, but now I see Arteta is making Arsenal evolve over time with right players. Seems useful video and try comparing manager tactics too in your next video. 🔥🔥
Ten Hag till 2025 or 2026 as a coach would be great. He is a great coach indeed and created his experiance at the youth level. Every coach should follow that path. Its a great way to develope your skills as a coach (mentally, technical and much more). Enjoying the game is the most important key.
There are too many fans here who think Erik Ten Hag will improve the current Manchester United. In fact he will be disastrous for Manchester United. Erik Ten Hag is schooled in the total football system which Johan Cruyff and Pep Guardiola has further refined. Implementing such a style will only work with teams like Ajax or Barcelona, who train their players from their academy to play in this system or purchase players who are capable of similar skills. Total football works best when your players are intelligent with their decisions on and off the ball (see Messi, Frankie De Jong etc). If Erik Ten Hag comes to Manchester United, he only has Juan Mata, Donny Van De Beek, Sancho and Matic who fit such a profile. The rest of the team are more direct and incisive with their play where they tend to take a lot of risks. This is also the reason why Donny Van De Beek does not play often for Manchester United. Eventually he will overhaul the entire team leading to at least 2 to 3 seasons of rebuild. If Manchester United ever require a new manager, the best choice will probably be Zidane as he has the ability to adapt tactics that work well with the squad rather than forcing the squad to adapt to a ineffective tactic.
Great video man, even one of your best tbh. Maybe you could do a video about how exactly ten Haag could line up Barca, f.e. a revival of Coutinho in the nr.10 spot?? I think Agüero could function similar to Tadić as a sort of creating striker/false 9
As an ajax and united fan, i would be dissapointed if he moved to united or some other team. I think it wouldnt work out as he depends on the ajax academy to produce the type of player to fit in the ajax philosophy. The only club I couod see work out for him is perhaps barcelona as they have the same philosphy in their academy, but I think the best is if he stays at Ajax for the time being.
Man United don’t deserve Ten Hag… Barcelona don’t deserve Ten Hag. When he leaves Ajax, he will go to Bayern…He coached there before and his style will suit Bayern (and vice versa)…Hopefully he will stay with Ajax a few more years and take them to the CL final.
One small detail that I think you got wrong. Ajax does not play with a box to box 10 that plays reserved. But with a shadow striker. This one plays there close to the striker and puts pressure on the central defense with him.
He does not play in a 4-2-3-1. Here in The Netherlands it is called ‘4-3-3 with the point forwards’ , ‘the point’ is basically the number 10 and the two other midfielders are more in a defensive holding style
He is a unity coach knows how to unite the players an make players players there best an become better .just the perfect coach for united .I pray that you choose united .just to become the next greatest coach .
The guy is unquestionably good, putting him at the biggest clubs might be a mistake, in the same way that it is for players not ready for the move. Going to a BVB, Tottenham or a similar type club because move to a top class club would be a much smarter move for him.
I agree. The pressure might get to him. Someone like Zidane, Enrique, Flick are more suitable for United. They have had experience with players with big personalities and can handle their ego quite well. They have also won all the biggest trophies with them while playing a more stabile compact football.
United should consider this guy. Pundits and clueless fans are throwing names like Conte and Zidane, while some say "those are not United managers but who else is available?"... these people have such limited scope of knowledge. The problem is with how slow, tentative and even more clueless the United board are. I have a suspicious feeling either Pep will line him up as his replacement (each manager's contract will expire at the same time in 2023), or Barca will go for him if they don't think Xavi is ready. There's also the contractual mess within the squad at United, with players constantly getting rewarded with higher salaries for being shit or just warming the bench - that's something a manager would not want to walk into and get paralysed in the transfer market for being unable to sell.
No, I definitely want him at Arsenal, he will be perfect fit for us bcuz we have youthful team who need someone who can develop them properly and play entertaining football. Is incredible how he developed youngsters who are global stars now.
Could you do a video comparing Arsenals potential striker signings and who would be the best fit for us? Would love to learn more about Osimhen, Isak and En Nesyri
Davo, can you do the one of these but on who would be the perfect replacement for Ole at Man utd (given realistic availability) The fan base is crying out for you.. but till then a vid will have to do!
It would be incredibly stupid to go to Barcelona. Doing great at Ajax, winning the competition, Cup and playing the CL. Then why would he go to Barcelona where he may not even play CL and no chance of champions or cup winners. Not even to mention that he will get the blame for Barcelona's mess and mismanagement. Not a good step for his career.
as a barca fan, his football has always been a joy to watch. i would like to seem him coach us but with our state of club rn, i don’t see it. also i don’t believe he would leave ajax so early in the season.
The man that can save Barca would be none other than Arsene Wenger, his philosophy fits perfectly with tiki taka and favours playing youth. He’ll be perfect for Barcelona to recover financially and stay at top with modest budget.
He should have a go at the cl with ajax before he leaves. If this year or the next he cant reach the finals he should go to a club that already knows how to defend, but want to link that to a more total football style. Defense is the backbone on which you build your attacking play.
Ten Hag is good coach, If Barca doesn't get him, they should seriously look at Graham Potter. He clearly knows to play beautiful football, at minimum budget (which Barca need right now)
I am a man utd fan and I would agree he would be an excellent choice to take over from Solskjaer, he has a proven pedigree and has the ability to control and bring stability to the players and have their respect, he will not be afraid to put a few in their place , yes he would do well.
The problem with Ten Hag at Barca is, that at Ajax they are relatively vulnerable in the counter, this isnt that big of an issue because of the fast centre backs, but barca's centre backs are really slow, so that wont be compensated
Koeman is not the problem at Barcelona.. Ten Hag is a great coach I'm an Ajax fan of 25 years old and it's the best football I've seen from Ajax. We have a well rounded team again this year maybe a bit less individual talent but a much better bench. Hope that we impress again!
