If jamie Foxx is gonna be the new Spawn then Michael J White should play the Redeemer.

The Redeemer is such a cool and unique concept to me. Usually, when it comes to rival/evil twin characters in fiction, it's typically a dark, brooding character to contrast the bright and colorful design most other main characters have; that isn't the case here. Since Spawn, the protagonist, is *already* dark and brooding, his counterpart is made to be bright and golden. The contrast is used a lot, but the way it's applied here is... I dunno, it just appeals to me.

Anti-Spawn would be a good match for Ghost Rider because he has divinity on his side lol.

Anti-Spawn was a great concept. What’s even more cool. He was trapped in Hell for years RELATIVELY UNTOUCHED. Every where he went in Hell... Monsters cower and hid when he flew by. Being that Spawn killed Malebogia And vacated the throne. Hell was without its Manager.

I always loved this character.

Personally, I liked the Redeemer more than Spawn (yes I'm Christian but BEAR WITH ME and READ THE WHOLE THING BEFORE YOU JUDGE). I liked the whole Spawn universe in general and found the many different Spawn's (Medieval Spawn, etc) interesting. The idea of Earth being a harvesting ground for soldiers/warriors for Heaven and Hell, while an artistic take to say the least, was actually quite cool. The idea of the dead and spirits walking amongst us in the forms of Spawns/Demons and Angels/Redeemer style creatures with limited time, was interesting as well. Making the conflict between Heaven and Hell a guerrilla warfare with elements of espionage, assassination and psychological warfare was well done and the art was great. However, when first reading it, God seemed quite distant and the Devil seemed quite the manipulator, hard to tell what he was or wasnt' doing. Hell taking all the dark souls to make Hellspawn and but able to make a select few bodies with necroplasma was interesting. The same as Heaven sending Angels down to counter the influence and selecting chosen souls to be "Redeemer"s. I think keeping God as a distant figure only heard of but never directly interacting (that one can tell) was good because for anyone of Abrahamic religion (Christian, Islamic, Jewish, etc....which make up the majority of the North American continent and the British Isles), they can relate to that. But instead of a preachy way, this was filled with dark themes like adultry, torture, cruelty, violence, fighting. All the dark, good stuff that make a great comic story like Spawn. It hit emotions, hard times and moral conflictions whilst also delivering super powers, fights, all kinds of stuff. I thought the stage was set for Al Simmons to eventually prove himself to have some good and with an angel guardian eventually find his way to be converted into a Redeemer and through that painful process, redeem himself by proving his worthiness and dedication to righteousness by using Elemental Fire, which hurts, but maintaining control of his anger and focusing on fighting Hell's influence. Then being allowed to ascend into Heaven, end comic. But at some point, mid way it went...I dunno. I HEARD that Todd McFarlane got removed from the creative process, but I don't know. At some point, it was like I was reading something else and I had no idea what the hell was going on. The storyline went to something awful, the characters didn't know what roles they were playing and the end result was just awful. I couldn't stand it. It started out GREAT. It ended sloppy and lame. I'd like the idea of the Redeemer role being both for the good-hearted and disciplined or for a former hellspawn trying to redeem himself to make amends for what he did. Al Simmons was interesting in that aspect. I was hoping he was eventually going to do that. But, he didn't. I'd love to have the story start back to what it used to be.

Yo the redeemer looks absolutely sick! I'm here cause of mk11. Hopefully they give this skin to scorpion or something. although I'm very surprised jason wen was chosen to be the redeemer cause I saw the animated series and well he's a mob boss a bad guy not really the best representative of heaven I'd say but I might be missing something. Correct me if I'm wrong.
