John, you truly are a contemporary Saint. In an age of post-truths and information overload, you constantly remind us to slow down, and appreciate the current moment. Lots of love from Norway 🇳🇴

Yes dear John the heart lifts us up, myself too had an encounter with a red fox, i lived in a rural area close to Ontario's Lake Simco , The fox would cross our land to get to a little tract that was made by cows going to drink From the lake , the fox would stop an gaze at my husband who was very ill, my husband sat on A raised deck area, an he never moved when fox came by, then-one morning I was up early to Go for a bicycle ride up the country lane , the fox I knew lived by the barn of a country house, As I came to see his tract while often seeing fox , who would stop and stare at me. So this morning , the fox crossed my path three times , stopped an looked an then trotted off on it's way. I always felt so privileged an like John could weep thinking of this . How I love to listen to the words and lessons that John brings to our awareness, he is such a humble man. God Bless you. John for your wisdoms amen 🙏🌹

I feel like meditation actually can hurt us in a way. When we focus only on meditating for our own inner peace, without acknowledging that usually, actual actions and choices need to be taken and made for our own growth and for the purpose of helping others. It's okay to find that stillness John refers to, to empty our mind of anxious worrying thoughts. But if that's all we do, we are missing the point of our real purpose of loving others in spite of our personal burdens. We should also meditate on God's word, and accept that we must carry our cross as Jesus did. Any thoughts?
@randybackgammon890
@randybackgammon890 2 года назад
Totally agree.Johns got a nice voice but I find his and others 'non duality doctrine' asks more questions than it answers.At least that's how if feel.And that after 39 years of meditation....twice a day,every day.
@spencer1854
@spencer1854 2 года назад
@@randybackgammon890 Yeah, I think meditation is a tool that touches on some biblical ideas of surrender, forgiveness, peace, awareness, but leaves out other important ideas of responsibility, long-suffering, our total reliance on Jesus in regards to our unavoidable sin nature, etc.
@randybackgammon890
@randybackgammon890 2 года назад
Interesting you and John talk about carrying the cross. I don't think life on earth should be eternally a struggle.I think it's a flawed but(with our efforts and loves grace) slowly improving situation.'Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven' is a reality we must hope and work for otherwise there be sureley no point praying for it.Individualy no one on an earthly level can save the world.The greatest among men( and of course women)hasn't achieved it yet.But collectively if we all do our bit life will go in the right direction despite setbacks of wars and stuff.I think it's a question of balence.Some times we need a kick in the pants but we shouldn't be too hard on ourselves all the time because that's demoraliseing and it's a collective responsibility anyway I feel.As you say the break meditation provides is valuable.But so is action, responsibility and,where necessary,front line involvement....common sense really. Just my opinion....Best wishes✌️
@spencer1854
@spencer1854 2 года назад
@@randybackgammon890 Agreed. To me, carrying my cross means to love and forgive others despite all the burdens that stack up on me throughout this life. Like, we don't have to be perfectly enlightened or at peace in order to love others or tip the scale in this fallen world of sin. We can act right despite what the world throws at us! :) Yeah, everything is about balance it seems, you're right :)

JOHN. In an interview you were asked..WHY DOES GOD LET BAD THINGS HAPPEN ? I thought about that years ago and what came to me is this - If God stepped in and put things right every time we humans did bad things, what would we learn ? NOTHING. We would carry on making the same mistakes knowing God would put things right. It is only by making mistakes and learning by them, can we possibly grow in understanding and spiritually. It is like having a bad dream. We can wake up afraid and maybe keep having the same nightmare over and over again, or we can try and understand why we are having the nightmare, and correct its root cause.

@dereklords9688

@@SpiritualUnfoldment Question: what happens when I forgetful of discipline in my inner work? whether it be sitting regularly, being kinder, allowing everything to be as is and paying attention. none of which I am making any progress with without asking constantly for help to do it: that js, to open, to surrender and to grow spiritually. It seems as if in my case, I become less without more discipline, whereas in general less IS more. Thank you!!

John has many beautifull insights that you can feel being transmitted. But his own logic on the matter often just doesnt add up for me. Particularly his quoting of nature as being a perfect expression of order and oneness.. Animals rip each other to peices!Lions,will kill and eat the young of a rival,cirtain rodents will only mate with a male that can beat them in a bloody fight,the list of merciless competition is endless and hardly needs repeating by me.And all this long before 'sinfull' man came upon the scene. One could,in fact, reverse the viewpoint and argue that compassion is a man made invention(or occurrence) and,far from evil, interference.Im sure somebody will argue otherwise but all these things existed long before man chose the fall from grace. And why would a being created created in God's image make that inferior choice in the first place. Either he or God couldn't be perfect.Obviously not by the process of logic.Which religion will always denounce when it contradicts it,thereby rendering every claim unfalseifyable! Don't get me wrong I believe the great ocean of peace exists and I think most of us have glimpsed it.But since it passeth all understanding what we need is access to it and get on with life in the light.Not endless books and seminars ruminating on its nature and urging us to imagine(by own admission)the incomprehensible

@kittieconvoy interesting. But why set yourself up beyond anyone's grasp if you disire that they know you better. That dosn't make any sense.Your'e probably going to tell me it's because I simply don't understand.But I understand that sentence perfectly and it doesn't make sense. I stand(or fall)by what I say for now

I struggle with this a lot. I know oneness is true. I wonder if the creation has fallen into a sense of separation from God, hence such behavior? I have no answers for this, other than one time, I was given the knowledge that creatures like spiders and wasps are symbolic, representing concepts in life.

I love John´s teachings but nevertheless I really want thank you for writing what you wrote. Somebody had to say it. Sadly as a biologist I also know much too much of the endless cruelty of nature. (Ignorance is really bliss here). Millions of parasites devouring their victims like e.g. the larvae of the ichneumon fly that feed on caterpillars, eating them from the inside out while they are still alive. Unimaginable cruelty. Nearly 500.000 people dying of malaria each year, mostly children - the organism responsible for it another of nature´s horrible creatures. The list is endless. The question how a loving and good God could have created such a horror troubled me for many years. But then I found an answer for me that really gives me peace: I heard a pastor saying that not only man has fallen but also nature and its creatures fell. That at the time when creation still was like God wanted it to be e.g. mosquitos only sucked nectar from plants and now parasitic worms just fed on mud. So we live now in a fallen world with equally fallen creatures around us. I then found this idea also represented in the bible: St. Paul , Romans 8:21-22 (King James Version of the Bible which in my eyes has got the best translation) 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. Whenever I now see or read something of nature´s cruelty I think of this and it really gives me peace.
