The show in general is better in most ways. They were smart enough to realize that a lot of comic book stuff does not translate well into TV and movies. A lot of the silliness from the source material would not work on the screen.
That's in the comics... The comics and the show are super different. Storm front was a guy in the comics. And soldier boy wasn't one person. He was 3 different people
Like most of the characters, the show takes what was essentially just Garth Ennis whining about superhero comics and turns it into a far more sophisticated and meaningful satire.
All I know is that in the show Soldier Boy is the realest. He kept his word to Billy and tried take out Homelander. He fought through two betrayals and I hope he comes back with a vengeance!
He was. He was the original homelander, virtually unstoppable and more. And tbh I believe that they’re saving Soldier Boy for the series finale. Why? Because he’s the only supe that can actually, ACTUALLY kill Homelander. They need his radiation burst in order to kill Homelander.
In the comics, there was the original soldier boy wasn't a coward, but the newer second one was. The first one was injured and unconscious after being wounded and 9ne 9f his own killed h8m off. Later on there was a second soldier boy that took the original deceased one, the second one was a coward. Not the first one.
There are different characters named Soldier Boy in The Boys comics. The scardey cat version and the original WWII Soldier Boy. Jensen Ackles is playing the WWII OG Soldier Boy.
Soldier boy in the comic: STR +10 Soldier boy in the film: STR +1000 and able to shoot an unstable and powerful beam that can kill and/or neutralize other sups
I love the Soldier Boy in the show. Big fan of Jensen Ackles too so I may be biased. But Soldier Boy my favorite character. I can't wait until he returns 🔥
Between being a super hero he lived a double life where he helped (and gave his life) helping his brother find their father and save the world....soldier boy is the best hero this world could ever deserve
