Henry changed the premier league. There was never a striker that would take the ball from any position on the pitch including his own half and score. He wouldn't stand in the box and wait for it. He would create his own chance and score.

Chelsea fan since 1995 here. There is no debate. It's Henry by a mile. The most destructive and devastating player as an opponent and a real team player as well.

Bergkamp is technically the best player. Capable of the truly inspirational. The goal he scored for Holland against Argentina was genius. Like many of Holland’s great players played the game in a way I truly admire. Spurs fan.

Bergkamp was close, CR7 aswell, Cantona was amazing, Zola was talented beyond belief and Torres for a few years at anfield was sensational . Of recent times, Suarez and Aguero have been incredible. But Henry, moment after moment, time and time and time again, literally RIPPED everyone up. He was faster, stronger, more powerful and almost created a position of his own. For years I always went with Eric Cantona as the greatest foreign player in Premier League history. For his influence to Manchester United, as he was the one who revolutionised and started their dominance in the 90s. Then I felt Bergkamp was the greatest foreign PL ever, for changing the whole ethos of Arsenal, on and off the field. But for me the GREATEST Foreign PL player ever has to be Thierry Henry. For his style, fashion, goalscoring, flamboyance and presence. And a lot of people started supporting Arsenal because of Henry and Bergkamp.

Theirry Henry most underrated thing was his creativity. He baged lots of assist. I remember when he got 20 league assist in one season the closest player was Ozil with 19.

Henry had golden boot 4 times. Crazy goals to games ratio. Scored 39 goals and 20 assists in one season. Still has the record for assists. Uefa team of the season 5 times. Can dribble through the whole team and score. Can hold it up, great passer. Phenomenal pace and power and skill. Link up play. Technique, finesse. As a pure goalscorer aguero is one of the greatest but henry is a far superior all round football player.

Coming from a Man City fan - Aguero - one of the greatest strikers yes, but player over a longer period - no - That has to go to Thierry Henry. TH wasn't just a great goalscorer, but he had an incredible rate of assists, at his peak he had the Golden Shoe and was highest assister in Europe - that's phenomenal! Also although Aguero is pretty fast and can go past the last man, Henry could pick the ball up from deep and glide past 2 or 3 defenders and did so most games. Henry also took set pieces and scored many free kicks. Also stats dont take into account moments of genius - Yes Aguero scored that famous goal to win City the Premier League, and a few standout moments in his Premier League career, but TH time in the Premier league was filled with mouth open moments of genius and magic, from his goal against Liverpool when the title and unbeaten run were in jeopardy, to his backheel vs Charlton, his goal vs Spurs picking the ball up from in his own half and driving past 4 players before scoring, to THAT goal vs Man U. I love Aguero and he would definitely be in my all time greatest Premier League squad, but TH was a class apart.

I’m not only saying this because i am a gunner. Henry was the king of PL when it came to scoring goals. However, for me... Bergkamp was the artist of all footballers. Bergkamp without a shadow of a doubt, the best foreign player to ever played the PL. he brought magic with flare, where even the opposition players would applaud his talent on the pitch. He was the master of all touches and passes. Ask Henry how he broke Wrights record at Arsenal? Obviously with the help of Bergkamp. Bergkamp helped wright to become Arsenal’s all time goalscorer, until Henry came and helped him to brake Wrights record. Such a phenomenal player he was. Believe me when i say this... PL will NEVER EVER see such another talented player as Bergkamp was!

I remember watching Man U vs Arsenal as a Man U fan, tied 1-1 deep in lost time Eboue crosses the ball, Henry heads the ball, scores, and jogs around the left corner up the pitch looking at the crowd with so much cool I forgot I was a Man U fan

Thierry Henry is the greatest ever to play in england period! He could score any type of goals...right foot left foot, headers, solo goals, curled shots, chips, strikes from distance, tap ins! Holds assist records as well as goal records, could create and score goals out of nothing in tight games - glide past the whole opposition or pick a pass from deep in the centre or on the wings! Made it look easy to destroy top defenders at the highest level for years! Dennis is 2nd because he changed the face of English football and the way we play at Arsenal and helped Thierry! I'm not being bias its just facts! Shearer is an idiot ,aguero isn't even in the top 10 imo!

No reason for anyone here to discredit anyone's opinion and if anyone rates Aguero as the best than so be it but for me personally, Henry was head and shoulders above him, Henry was the full package, elegant, lightening quick, two footed, could score penalties, free kicks, screamers from outside the penalty box, headers, assists as he is still the player with most assists in a season (20) and the thing with Henry was that you could give him the ball at the halfway line and he would dribble his way past any defender and score, that's something that Aguero can't do, Aguero is very clinical and his movement is outstanding and very smart but he relies on service whereas Henry just took the ball and destroyed the entire Real Madrid defence, the entire Liverpool, Tottenham, Leeds and United defence all by himself. Aguero is great but Henry is the greatest ever to play in the PL. I also rate Bergkamp and Ronaldo ahead of Aguero. I also rate Vieira as a better player and having a bigger impact if i think about his legendary duels with Keane or the fact that he was by far the very best dm in the world for a long time

I was at the fa cup match against Leeds when he came back to arsenal for a while and no one could touch him when he scored. It was one of the best moments in my life when he came back and did that.

Henry tops the list undoubtedly even as a Liverpool fan. Aguero comes close, top class of course, if De Bruyne carrying on the way he is then he'll have a very decent shout (best midfielder I've ever seen imo). Honourable mentions are Suarez, Ronaldo, Viera, David Silva.

Legend - Someone who is so good in their field of work that it forces their opponents to get better. Thierry Henry is a living legend. Those of us lucky enough to witness his greatness will attest to that. There is no other for me.

Alan Shearer must be smoking! Henry is by far the greatest player ever and the best player to grace the EPL. This shouldn't be a discussion. Ronaldo comes closer but he didn't achieve what Henry had achieved. Don't get me wrong. Ronaldo is the best second player in the world.

I'm surprised that Zola didn't get a mention? For ability to dominate opponents and make the difference you can list Henry, Bergkamp, Vieira, Ronaldo, Schmeicel, Van Nistelrooy, Zola, Drogba, Suarez, Torres, Aguero, KDB as examples... but the biggest factor for me was how long they were in the Premiership and playing at a top level. That is why I agree that it has to be Thierry Henry.

Henry without a doubt. Best in PL history, not just import. He ripped defenses apart. Left defenders of the highest calibre looking like idiots. Any football fan who can let go of their bias would pick Henry. Absolutely phenomenal player. The Arsenal team he played in is still one of my favourite teams of all time because they were just so good on the eye and I'm a Liverpool fan.

The last 3 seasons of Ronaldo at Man United, Ronaldo was a much better player than Agüero or Henry. Admittedly he didn’t have the longevity as he moved clubs, but the level he played at in those final seasons was a much higher level than anyone else. Ronaldo was voted the worlds best player, as a premier league player too. Something Henry could never manage, and as for Agüero, he’s not even won a PFA award ffs.

Being a chelsea fan I still say henry and bergkamp was a legend their impact was different. And other honourable mention will be CR7, Drogba, Aguero, Ruud Van Nisterloy, Viera

As Arsenal fan, my idol will always be Bergkamp. Of course when compare with Henry, its debateable.. Henry is strong pacy striker tat like to take the ball from left and cut inside and score.. Bergkamp is not tat type of striker.. his more of creator and beautiful football type of striker.. but if pure number 9 in terms of goals.. i feel RVN is the best if compare with Aguero.. if RVN and Henry in the same team, i believe it will be nightmare for any defenders..

Aguero has no weakness? He's always injured! It would have to be Henry or Bergkamp for me :-) Massive impact on the league and were talisman for club and country. All due respect to Aguero, he's mainly a goalscorer.

The guy in the middle seemed so adamant that he didn't want Thierry to get the vote as GOAT. The hate was evident, as a united fan Thierry was and is the GOAT in premier league history Aguero isn't close, CR7 was absolutely unstoppable in his final 3 seasons before he left United, but Thierry is defo TBE do it in the Prem.

Players like Gianfranco Zola, Dennis Bergkamp, Eric Cantona, Paulo Di Canio could do things with their first touch, disguise and trickery that even Ronaldo and Henry could not do. As a football fan they're the players I want to watch. Henry was very, very impressive and prodigious.....but he never made me actually gasp, or scream 'Oh, come on that's not possible!' or 'Behave! Stop it!'

Henry all day long - made the extraordinary seem routine every week, wee in week out. Best time I have ever sen in the PL, by some margin. Lots of other greats, Zola, Bergamp, Cantona, Ronaldo, Robben, Kun too, but not close to Henry. Privileged to have watched Henry in the PL.

You want to know how great a player is. Look at the impact he had, the way he change the way the game or a position is played. You never heard anyone say that goal is reminiscing of Aguero, you consistently heard that been said of Henry, hence the term Henry ESK. Plus Henry really kicked into gear in the latter part of his 2nd season.

Bellamy talked about Bergkamp being the first professional foreign player, who didn't drink and party and so on but it was actually Cantona. He changed the entire culture of man utd, with his work rate, his professionalism and his dedication. His traits had a great effect on the class of 92. Had he not arrived, their role models would have been guys who were heavy drinkers not a serial worker like cantona. He changed the course of man utd history

Dennis Bergkamp and Gianfranco Zola played the best football I've seen by foreigners in the Premier League. It's not all about goal scoring. Henry was the most devastating but I choose artists over those who benefited from physical gifts and being a goal scorer primarily! Number 10s. In the last decade David Silva for me, but his contribution to the league is criminally underrated. Aguerro's great but if you're a real student of the game you know Silva's been the better player during their time at City! Goals get the attention but it does not mean that goalscorers are the best players. There was also a time before the Premier league that never gets talked about and at the time (80s), English teams dominated the European competitions. From that era Ossie Ardilles I remember seeing as a football mad kid as the best foreign player I saw play in England. He was a World Cup winner and was quality, and with Hoddle tried to play beautiful football at a time when the league was extremely physical and most teams played long ball football. He was a cross between Xavi and Ineista in a way because he was able to be a pass master whilst also going on wavy defence splitting runs breaking from midfield. I say all this as a Gooner! Many great players get overlooked. Bellamy's right defending standards have declined drastically in my opinion. Just because time passes it doesn't mean the quality of the product improves exponentially. The standards of the superstar forward players have drastically declined also imo. Particularly in comparison to the 80s and 90s and 2000s imo! That's why Messi and Ronaldo have dominated and stood out so much.

Thierry Henry is the best striker not only in the EPL overall history, but in the World Football of alltime. I put him second to non alltime for change of pace and finishing ability as a striker when combining with winning pedigree.
