You make a part 2 list like Wolf from Virtua Fighter and also every character in Def Jam Vendetta and who you forgot to mention Incineroar who is a grappler that is in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate also Base from Dead or Alive and Armor King from Tekken and also Hugo,R.Mika,T Hawk,Manon,Abel an Hakkan from the Street Fighter games.
IMO the hate against grapplers comes from the 2D tradition of having powerful unescapable throws. In Tekken nobody likes being Giant Swinged around or Tomahawked to death, but everyone knows they SHOULD have escaped it. The blame is always on the receiving end, so although everyone complains, nobody truly hates.

Good list, strange about Bowser bc I think smash don't have a true grappler, but I want do add a name, ASTAROTH, the most fun grappler I ever played, born like a clone character he's became more popular than the original.
King's multi-grabs, running grabs, anti-air grabs, ground grabs and his annoying 50/50 grabs that unlike the video said have NO RISK AT ALL, coz worst case scenario the opponent brakes free and you are not minus nor suffer damage, and his grabs are like 12 frames so fast af. What's the downside? He can grab ducking opponents, standing ones, mid air, on the ground.
I'm very happy with this list! (King main here) But it would be perfect to have Virtua Fighter's Wolf Hawkfield somewhere on this list...Outside of the first place spot of course. lol
I'd rate #1 for Potemkin though. As awesome as King is, he doesnt have that satisfying feeling of landing a 1 hit HUGE "buster" type damage. Potemkin got it all: great toolkit for incorporating his potbuster, great design style, great character lore, fun to play, and most of all: having that oomph awesome feeling of landing a powerslam with huuuuuuge damage like him and zangief.
Huh? King can do 40% of your health bar in a single throw. There's barely a difference between that and Potemkin Buster AND kings chain throws can do up to 77%
Mk1 is a tough one. As an old kotal main, i switched off of Reiko because he didn’t play how I wanted a grappler to. Geras Idt is any better. Hoping for a kotal/ true grappler dlc in the future
This list is almost a big no. You are simply missing heavy hit monsters like general raam, thunder, goro daimon, grundy, t-hawk, Beowulf, and yet you name bowser, la diva, reiko and waldstein? Really? 👎
