@@ralphanthonymallillin2712 she has been singing all of her life with vocal nodules and her recent performances are actually quite good. Nobody could stay the same forever, Céline has still an impressive voice but way less powerful than before (that’s normal lol) and the in the last years of Whitney’s life she couldn’t sustain a single note more than 1 second because she was totally damaged. Let’s appreciate the living legends we have now.
Initially MC had straight bone hair by choice for white radio.. she curled it to compete collaborated with 26 all ready famous and charting 90s black rappers.. even with Eminem who wanted to be black.. stay mad.
Actually, her range improved and might still be improving. Back when she recorded All By Myself, her F5 (though insanely powerful) sounded like she has reached her limit. Now she can even mix a C6.
Sorry but no. Whitney distroyed her voice with drugs, but Mariah voice still super good. She had some bad years but is back on track. Celine sickness has made a toll on her voice.
So basically, the 👑 goes to: *The Vocal Trinity* ✨ They really set the bar incredibly high! Their exceptional vocal talent + monumental success + how influential they are is essentially unparalleled; I can't think of a set of three vocalists in the same era who have done this. Lovely video! Quite thorough & enlightening 💕 *P.S.* Your English is splendid plus you have an admirable accent! 💁
I admire them immensely. However, may I add that they were also lucky to have their careers at a moment where there were tons of talented songwriters who wrote them timeless songs.
I love all three BUT Whitney is the most awarded female artist of all time! Her voice was likened to a Stradivarius violen. The golden voice. The eighth Wonder of the world. She's the mother of the vocal trinity, imo.
Out of these three Celine's voice appeal to me the most. Can't really judge their technique (all of them are master level anyway) so it is just about preference.
@@yureino you sit tf down idiot. Whitney was the better vocalist of the three. Mariah is very overrated but a great artist and Celine is cool but bland
@@Abdel-b5c Why would I be bitter over someone's OPINION? I like Mariah(when she's not using her DUBBED VOCALS😂), but I prefer Whitney's voice OVERALL. Now continue to sulk....LMFAO
@@TheRemixstress dubbed vocals so what ? It's still hers and she still outshines whitney x10. Now if you like one's voice better, suit yourself, but you can't tell that she's a superior vocalist when she's nowhere near Mariah's supremacy
They are all great but, mariah's music is very extra, she's very hands on. She's the main singer, the back up, the melodies, the harmonies, and the music itself. That's why she has a lot of no.1
Love all three, but It's always Mariah for me. She is invested in every aspect of her artistry, she has dedicated every ounce of her life to her art, creativity and performance. She understands her voice so well, and while it's obviously deteriorated over the years due to nodules, she understands that it's the nodules that give half her range. She is so technically gifted, I could honestly listen to her sing the phone book. No shade to Whitney or Celine though. They're both unbelievably good.
@Kathlyn Ofosuhene Sure, but she is not the only one referred to as The Voice. Steve Perry was called The Voice. Frank Sinatra, Mariah Carey all have been called The Voice. I was just trying to correct the original comment.
@@philipcohen958 "mhm" Just because you hear a few news reporter say"MAriah carey is the voice" dosen't mean it's accurate. Let's face reality whitney is the "original voice" No matter what you hear from any other person!
I get it, Whitney and Celine have more power to their voices but what they don’t have is the beauty and fragility of Mariah’s voice. I promise you when i hear Mariah i hear an angel singing, so beautiful, such a sweet sweet feminine voice. So angelic.
true that but i prefer whitney to be honest whitney can also sound just as good as mariah, sad that she passed away she wasn't able to show the world her full potential!
Mariah' s tone is uncomparable but in the upperbelts Mariah is more powerful, greater support and resonance. Also after the first footage of the music box tour I'm not even sure they will win in mid-belts
Yes we have our own preferences . Its celine for me but I cant say shes better than the two . They all have unique qualities that are hard to compare 👍
You forgot Mariah at 90's. Vision of Love live at GMA kills her. So Whitney are sooo good but Mariah it's The Songbird Supreme, have more agility, tone, range and technique
Whitney stirs every emotion in me! No doubt Whitney is the all time favorite ♥️ In another life, if all three were to perform in concert and I had to choose which concert to go to, I would definitely pick Whitney!
Despite going into detail about all of their skills, because they're so good but I just have to mention Mariah's transitions in songs like forever. Absolutely unbeatable
Here is my opinion: Lower register: Mariah > Celine > Whitney Mid belt: Whitney > Mariah = Celine Upper belt: Mariah (resonance) = Celine (higher notes) > Whitney Head voice: Whitney > Celine > Mariah Falsetto: Mariah > Celine & Whitney (not sure who is better) Whistle: Mariah Consistency: Celine > Whitney > Mariah Growls: Mariah > Whitney > Celine Long notes: Celine > Whitney > Mariah Agility: can’t choose. My preference is Mariah because I like her tone . It can be dark, soulful, powerful yet bright, light, soft, and feminine at the same time. I also like her slight raspiness.
I also think that houston is best for the chest n on the other hand the C5 and D5 notes of celine dion are equal to those of houston see superior, for me celine is a queen of C5 and D5, she has a piercing power with a ring natural in his voice which matches the voice of houston. above D5 for me houston is far superior
Mariah & Celine were both inspired by Whitney. With that being said, u know what it means. All the best singers in the world knows that. I love Celine & Mariah though. What makes Whitney unique among them is, She was anointed & gift to this world.💕
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4vGaHFLjh10.html this channel has remastered quite a few of Mariah's performances with better audio quality. I challenge whitney and Celine to sing a song like "Forever" as Mariah does in this video live.
Hmmm... As a vocalist/singer, I'd say: 1- Whitney 2- Mariah (comes down to preference) 3- Celine As an overall artist: 1- Mariah 2- Whitney 3- Celine (could be a tie)
As a kid, I definitely listened to Celine because my sisters liked her. Growing up and gaining access to the internet, I listened to Whitney and Mariah. I must say I've grown to love Mariah the most. She has the best catalogue, in my opinion and I like her as a person. She's very entertaining. Whitney and Celine are second to me. But I still like them all.
We’re almost similar, too! I started singing Whitney and Celine when I was still a child (ahh those days when I could still hit a proper note), then when I grew up I am in love with Mariah 💕
I can sing. so can I say what simon said? Because I can sing any Whitney song but I try not to sing Mariah because it's so hard I can't copy mariah's placement I sound kinda like whitney when I sing Mariah.
MARIAH HAS AN AMAZING HEAD VOICE AS WELL! if you’re going to make a section for headcoice you should do one for falsetto and Mariah would win hands down. Her versatility and command of her falsetto (whisper) register is unmatched in my opinion as a vocalist for almost twenty years.
Whitney’s head voice is beautiful but not nearly as versatile and extensive as Mariah’s, that is just a vocal fact. Mariah’s range (including her head voice, falsetto and whistle) is far too impressive when comparing the two. Whitney’s head voice sounds the same every time, and she is not as colorful or creative of a singer as Mariah Carey. It might help that Mariah writes her songs and is a true artist that help her voice sound so soulful but her range and abilities are honestly a divine gift from God. Whitney is divinely gifted as well but Mariah is tops for me.
@@jalonwatts you're very funny. I've heard Whitney's head voice sound better and different than Mariah's. Sure Mariah uses it differently but it definitely didn't sound better than Whitney's
@Ben Jammin You are a troll. The only one who can actually song is diana. Janet can dance and Madonna tries to sing. Britney just needs to find something else to do. Mariah, Whitney and Celine are some of the best singers ever. You are just a hater and a troll.
Whitney is my absolutely favorite voice when I was a kid I always sang along her song "I will always love you" not saying I did well just loved singing the song
"Dolphins would hail her as a kindred spirit. And she could nail those Queen of the Night arias from Mozart’s Magic Flute,” says professional soprano and Classic FM presenter Catherine Bott., about Mariah Carey
Exactly! He should have Hero's G5 1996, Lead The Way's runs, Joy To The World phrased F5's, etc. Also did you guys notice, he didn't even give credits to Mariah's whistle register?
I think he only used live performances as examples. The "Lead the way" run is a recording. But he used many amazing ones like the "vision of love" one from MSG
Mariah carey is my personal preference cause im like in love with her tone but all 3 are some of the if not the best vocalist that i have ever listened to and they have made a huge impact in the music industry
You are so cute with your "underwhelming English"! :D :D :D Your English is fine by the way but I like how you've made it into a running joke. :) And also, another great video! I hate it when people try to pit these three talented ladies against each other. I personally love Whitney because of her tone and sound, but I'm generally into Gospel, so Whitney being my fav is not odd. However, I have no problem enjoying Mariah's runs every now and then or giving mad props to Celine for her awesome technique and longevity. I'm glad people are starting to recognise that if you like someone, you don't have to hate everyone else. Thank you for making this point so clearly. :)
Whitney’s voice always gives me the goosebumps. It pierces through the soul. I think her style always reflects the emotion behind the song. There’s always a reason behind her runs, lyric phrasing, etc-they’re never superficial.
Céline was the first of the "vocal trinity" I heard. I used to battle between Céline and Mariah and Whitney ... until I learnt that loving them all is okay lol.
@@stanleysimmonsreactions9056 Celine debuted even earlier than Whitney. Her first album was in 1981, while Whitney's was in 1985. Just because it wasn't an English album, doesn't invalidate her singing career.
For those of us that heard all 3 at their diva best. I think Celine's voice at her very peak was incomparable. She basically sounded unreal. However, I think Mariah's technique is the most difficult. That, IMO is why people rarely do a celine or a Mariah song at auditions. Most times you are graded for attempting. But I've seen a few Whitney covers really do justice to her songs. Not so with Celine or even rarer with Mariah.
Nobody can do justice to whitney whitney can outsing both of them even in 1999 whitney outsang mariah in when you believe idk what y talking abt ur clearly favorable
I don't even like this kind of music, a friend wants me to watch this, but to me, personally, Whitney is the biggest, although, I feel like singing like the most difficult Mariah's songs it could be really difficult to even get close. @@bangsawinski8149
WH is my favorite. Extremely versatile voice, amazing storytelling ability, and unmatched stage presence and live performances. Vocal embellishments aside, I think she has the more naturally beautiful sounding voice/tone.
Whiney Houston to me the best of all time. I get goosebumps everytime Whitney sing. She would touch my soul. All great singers but, Whitney Houston was vocal n spirituals I felt her songs.
love all three talented ladies, but overall I prefer Mariah. there is just something so enchanting in the way she utilizes her instrument, either in the studio or in a live setting. the way she does phrased belts, whistles, agile runs and not to mention that youthful and soothing tone.
@@johnpalermo4466 Who are you to decide gifts? Atleast Mariah had the gift of not shouting and controlling her volume which others didn't. Mariah moved me the most
I'mma give it to you Raw and live to me that's just me being Cheryl Whitney by far is best in bars range vocal live Whitney is the best that there ever is and that they ever was no one no where can sing and harmonize with range and with Roofing she knows how to rest and if you know anything about singing range riff up and down up and down some people scream Mariah Carey some people yodel yellow
You are so lucky to have seen and listened to them both! I’m with you, Whitney is hands down my number one. Followed by Mariah and then Celine. They are all awesome singers and my top three of all time.
Celine doesn't "rely" on nasal twang. It's because she's a francophone. When you grow up speaking French, your voice automatically becomes nasal because there are so many nasal sounds in French Only someone who has grown up that way or is fluent will understand that. I think if Celine grew up in a different household, her nasal twang would be less apparent.
You're talking only about 1985-90 right? Cuz it's not so much true after 90 lol. And after 92 it was just random screeches and medicated mess. If you're talking only about 5-6 years then even Mariah was phenomenal. Ain't no "hands down Whitney" then.

When you say Vocal Trinity, theyre the absolute best. They are like the Goddesses of voice and no one is better than the other. They are equally the best in their own way so give them respect they deserve.
It’s not the Vocal Trinity, it’s Whitney and her copycats. 🤷🏻♂️ Sorry but all they did was put out songs that are Whitneyesque and vocals that are Whitneyesque. They basically copied her style in order to appeal to her audience. Whitney will always be the most legendary and iconic because of that. She was a true original.
@@whfan007 Ok c'mon let's not go CRAZY here...influence does NOT mean copying...Mariah may have some similarities but that's cuz they had similar musical influence...otherwise mariah is a COMPLETELY different style. I can only speak for mariah tho as I havent followed celine that well...tho she does not seem to be COPYING whitney AT ALL
Muhammad Hasan Imran tommy motolla said it out his mouth, he was looking for his version of Whitney. They even brought it Whitney producers to rework mariah’s material. She admitted she hated the image they gave her because it wasn’t her
Paddy Lewis Mariah has had vocal nodules since she was a kid and she learnt to sing with them, so yes her vocal chords were and still are technically damaged that’s how she could hit those highs and those lows, girl what u mad about?
You do know that Whitney had nodules too right? Also Pavoratti, Freddy Mercury, Adele, Sam Smith, and Julie Andrews. Some of the most legendary singers have nodules.
@@bellefrancisco2796 ...I saw that episode.....and they had Aretha as number 2.....but none them could touch Aretha on RnB and gospel....and when you're the best at that, you're simply the BEST!!🥰
@@jayelove1504 Whitney singing was more refined and more modern than Aretha's. Her voice was truly FLAWLESS!!! Her style was more advanced in my opinion
You’ve spoken the truth! None of them come close to Whitney’s technical prowess, soul, emotions, stage presence, and most importantly her ability to connect to the song and the audiences.
@Liz Smith Both are great in their own aspects, I prefer Mariah's songs over Whitney's since Mariah's songs are way more difficult. But there's something about Whitney's tone that takes it all, also her natural power and stamina. She was never inconsistent in her prime. On the other hand, Mariah as an artist is more complete, she has the voice, the writing skills, production skills, success. But Whitney's voice just got me in one second.

Celine‘s voice is so cristal clear and resonant… the placement, so open and bright holy lord her way of belting is the most satisfying thing i‘ve ever heard
my favorite is Mariah. I think that her biggest problem was consistency. She lack´s consistency because her nodules and because her type of voice is very fragile. Overall, I think she´s the best, agility on point, great lows, beautiful mix and very dinamic with the whistle. Without her nodules probably her stamina could have been better, but could have lost her whistle. By the way, i just love Whitney´s voice and how she performs, Celine isn´t my taste, very nasal for me but she´s great too.
I like Whitney´s mid belts up to Eb5, to chesty for my taste and is very noticeable in the upper area cause her voice was the most powerful, that´s why sometimes was strained, With Mariah i just love her placement in all her mix, she strain too but is less notorius cause her voice was very light, very soft. With Celine I love how she achieves her resonance in the mid belts, very piercing.
@@kenrryfonseca729 Yet. The E5 and all the notes up to G#5 which are showed in this clip are big/free and has huge squillo. Whitney is the only one that actually belted past D5.
