the team is not locked in as a unit. You can see this by all the stupid penalties and mistakes on the field. Behind the scenes, I think Mcdaniel has lost the locker room. The only promising non Tua QB game we had was against the bills in playoffs 2 years ago. I know some people whine about the 2 picks that Thompson threw, but other than that Mcdaniel called a pretty good game with less resources than he has today. We basically lost that game because of mental mistakes that the rookie Skylar Thompson made. Thompson, as a whole, was scrambling and slinging the ball around the field. That game looks absolutely nothing like what we have seen this season without Tua. My only conclusion is behind the scenes, Mcdaniel has lost the locker room and he'll probably be fired at the end of the season.

Aloha Kyle. I agree with your assessment of the Blame Game. The GM and HC are primarily responsible. Ross needs to fire Grier, hire new GM, who will assess McDaniel and current roster.

The one thing you can't overcomes is a dysfunctional organization. I know Ross has been a good owner. He's provided everything the franchise has needed, and he's never been cheap or anything like that, but something is not right from an operational standpoint. We acquire talent, we've made good moves to get valuable draft capital, and we haven't been bottom feeders over the last 20 years, but we're the poster child for mediocrity. There's been alot of bad decisions, but every organization has those. We've spent on free agents, and we're a hot destination that players want to come play for, but player development, the ability to identify, retain quality front office personnel and head coaches has been a glaring issue the past 2 decades. I also heard something from an ex scout for the Eagles last night. He said that there are teams that cater to players as opposed to getting players that fit their culture and what's asked of them. For example, the Steelers practice hard during the week, especially Thursday's and Friday's, but when they tell free agents about what's expected of them, a lot of those free agents choose not to play there. Then you have team's that will cave in to the demands of what the player wants. I'm not inside the building, but I can totally see Miami as the type of team that caters to the players as opposed to getting specific types of players that fit what we demand.

We're not built to beat Buffalo, Baltimore, Kansas City or Cincinnati. So, we won't win our division or conference much less the Super Bowl...yet Ross was told he had a Super Bowl roster. This is a business. If you invested in people and processes that aren't working, you will fire somebody. Ross always thought Mike was quirky. Grier sold him on Mike and Kyle Shanahan. And that he could fix Tua and create a team built around him. The multiple concussions changed things. And Grier sold Ross on keeping Mike and Tua together. Until this last concussion. Now, he knows he's out 212 million and Mike's act is growing old. Ross knows his team can't beat those four teams. He's 85 and over it. The ice is cracking...Weaver and Reggie MacKenzie will take over this team soon.

" I am guilty of Hubris..." Superman You could substitute our own McDrippy for Superman in that statement, and that is the only thing akin to Superman one could apply to him. There is more than enough blame to go around for for sure , but the least of the culprits are the QBs. I can recall one of the great coaches I'm thinking it was Bill Parcells post game interview after an ugly Giants loss who stated (paraphrased) "IT is MY JOB to put my QB in a position to win" I don't see that happening here plain and simple. I thought we were getting this QB whisperer, guru, genius offensive mind coach. The system he installed for Tua looked good last year to begin. That is all I am willing to praise him about. Tua...tua is an enigma. He has all the tools, most of the intangibles that is required to be an elite QB in this league. Tua is also damaged goods, in more way than one. Do not misunderstand me I'm THE biggest Tua supporter and fan you will find. I love the guy and I still thing he can succeed , but, he's damaged and he is in real danger of going the way of Pennington albeit a different scenario , but the injury bug bit them both and apparently they were highly allergic because it has SO far kept them both from reaching their true potential. I cast an angry glance towards the not so dearly departed previous coach who bullied our QB into a real case of PTSD and it shows up at the worst times. OK so maybe it's not full blown PTSD as it's known, and I'm no professional , but I CAN see a guy who doesn't know exactly how to be an elite QB in the team leading dept. He's got half the fanbase and people in his ear telling him to be tough to win your team, show them you're gutsy! So he takes on DBs headfirst at the worst possible time. The other are telling him simply lead by example, heck it's no wonder the poor guy doesn't know what exactly to do in the heat of the moment come gametime. He's trying to listen to both of the entitities on his shoulders, both the angel AND the devil. I feel for him and IF they can address this he can till be the guy from here on out with a few lucky break in the injury dept. This is where I rest my addled brain as I lay the blame squarely at their repective feet, but as I said there's nore than enough to go around. smh Sorry for the rambling this team has inflicted brain damage on me in the past 40yrs....

What about Dillon Gabriel from Oregon as next years first rounder, high price for a backup, or is it? He's a southpaw and shows a lot of the skills that make Tua a fit for this offense.

The die has been cast for this season. We aren't going anywhere this season. Let's hope Tua, Mc Daniels & Grier learn from this. We need and experience offensive Coordinator, the first 3 draft picks should be DT, LG, RG (some where in that order).

The Damar Hamlin play that put Tua on IR is concerning. Hamlin didn't even hit him and basically held back. Can not count on Tua as he is extremely concussion prone. An "LT" hit is inevitable. Fins Mgt. needs to take the blinders off and be very proactive with a plan.

I liked Boyle's play when he came in for Skylar. He came in got the ball out quick and made some plays. I'm lost as to why he didn't get the next start. He did it again yesterday. He had more time with the play book. That was a head-scratcher. Skylar looked like a deer in the headlights. He wasn't much better in preseason. 😮

Don't you think the team would be more likely to go get a backup plan at qb since the deal wasn't finished? I get what you're saying Kyle, but it seems like they had no plans to bring someone in. I also watched that game over, and Tua looked like he felt the pressure of beating the Bills, and living up to that contract. One of my main critiques of Tua, was that he doesn't perform well when there's alot of external pressure, or if he feels like he needs to play better. I don't know why, but you can tell when Tua is putting is in his own head. I respect that about him and I think he's a fighter, but for some reason, he just doesn't play his best when his back is against the wall.

If they’re going to stick with Tua, then they need to carry three quarterbacks on the roster with QB2 being an accomplished veteran. The in-team evaluation needs to be revamped and upgraded and not stick to the status quo.

backup QB has been an issue since McD has been here...Grier is liable as well...Huntley is fine as a 3 but the Dolphins have a very, very fragile QB and have refused to have a strong QB as nbr 2...its total negligence at the GM and Coach level. There are at least 5 good teams thriving right now on their backup QBs...this all ties back to the pamper Tua program and don't provide any competition

It blows my mind how a wr with as much talent as Tyreek can only get 1 catch for 8 yds. Obviously he's not throwing the ball to himself, although he'd probably do better.

Flores actually did better with less talent. He was more deciplined than McDaniel which is showing up with all the penalties. If you take into account that this is year 3 of McDaniels players who are playing worse than their defense a unit that was basically majorly churned this off-season and are on their 3rd defensive coach in 3 years. Like McDaniel, Crossman the ST coach is still here with a poor oft penalized unit and a coach with a poor resume. Another wart on the McDaniel resume. McDaniel did a great job with Tua and creating a wrinkle in a new offensive scheme that worked till mid-season last year. These are facts in hindsight. Do I hope McDaniel can turn it around yes but not betting on it. If that's the case it's time to evaluate Weaver as a head coach for the Dolphins.

Tua is a liability to our team and he will always be because he never understand after all his injuries that he is not supposed to play hero QB. He needs to go as soon as we can replace him. And McDaniel is a terrible HC and worst play caller. There is no accountability to the players for their mistakes in the field. I was very upset this weekend to see him laughing with Hill and Waddle while our offense was playing again like shit and we were barely up by 7 points. McDaniel needs to go yesterday.

The playing calling is bad. The running backs were running good and they give it to the fullback who fumbles. The last throw on 4th down was 20 yards out of bounds enough said.

It's the entire franchise from the owner on down. We have owners who don't know crap about football. They hire people based on people they like in addition to whatever their resumes feature. In the end, they don't know what it takes to find an Ozzie Newsome or any other GM who is strong enough and principled enough to seek coaches rather than have a "come one, come all" open casting call. What is YOUR philosophy, Mr. GM? What coaches have you seen in the landscape (not a retread) who you think has the teaching, organizational, and motivational skills to build a culture. Not a high-flying offense. Not a top 10 defense who can't get stops when it counts. Who can build a CULTURE?!? A culture lasts long after people leave. Talent comes and goes... who can build a CULTURE of excellence?!?! What we are seeing now is a team with no culture. No rudder. No rock or foundation to lean on. We will never be among the elite until we stop swapping out people and start hiring people who are going to BUILD A CULTURE. I think of Tony Bennett's recent retirement from UVA. Say what you want about his inconsistent success in the NCAA tournament, he was successful because, before he did anything else, he built a culture that sustained the program and made it one of the most successful of the last two decades. What is our culture? Exactly.
@Ballaholic17
@Ballaholic17 9 часов назад
Exactly. Successful organizations aren't judged only by championships. It's management, development, discipline, decision making, and results over a sustained period of time. The Miami Heat are a great example, the Niners since John Lynch took over, Chiefs, St. Louis Cardinals, etc.

So what you are saying is that Skyler is better than Tua because if Tua was hit 15% of the time, he would for sh*t sure still be in the hospital. And did McNugget even try to run the ball with Skylar at QB? And how did Hill and Waddle perform? Were they open and QB just not see them?

Both of these QB's are not capable of playing with this team. He went as far as to place him back to practice squad only to elevate to game time knowing damage well he is terrible.
