Being "the face of the NBA" isn't the same as being the best player. Jokic is the best player right now but he isn't the face of the NBA, he will never be, and he doesn't want to be. In order to be the face you need to have a spectacular style of play, you need a personality that stands out and, obviously, you need to be one of the best players.

You just have to listen to the video you're commenting on to understand that's what we're talking about, since they define it very clearly. The face of the league doesn't have to be the best player. It's the one who stands out the most, who gets the most attention from fans and the media. If you want to comment on the best player, you'll have to find another video.

Im firmly on the belief that bucher doesnt like ant. There is a case that Wemby could become the face someday, but hard to talk about him yet considering his team was worst in the west, and then he said the spurs actively were holding back to secure another lottery pick. like bro, they just werent good enough. We will definitely see what we got with Wemby in the next couple of years. If healthy, i think Wemby could become the greatest defender in league history with a really solid offensive game. But i wouldnt put him into the argument today for Face of the League discussion.

Joy, TJ, and James don’t watch Spurs games because if they did they would had known the situation the Spurs are in, they rebuilding and it takes time to rebuild especially when you just drafted a generational talent like Wemby. They all dismissed Wemby being the potential face because the team wasn’t good or because he plays in a small market. They had no idea that Wemby had the most jersey sales behind LeBron, Steph, and I believe Luka as a ROOKIE! He also has his own shoe deal already and he made the Spurs be the 9th most in watched games. All that screams potential to become the face of the league, all he has to do is win now.

Its such a hypocritical discussion for Joy Taylor to say that they cant or dont decide who the next face of the league is. Who are you trying to sell on that lie. Shows like this, First Take, Undisputed, First Things First. You name the show they are all guilty of it. They all force the narrative and the topics they discuss every single show based entirely on analytics and minute by minute viewership numbers. These shows are too cowardly to take a step back to push another team or player that deserves it because they are afraid the numbers will take a dive. Maybe they wont be as strong as it is when talking about the Lakers or Cowboys, Dak or LeBron, KD and Steph. But while trying to hold onto that false sense of security in the analytics and numbers. Every single sports talk show and media personality fails the rest of the NBA astronomically. Because they are all behind the times and fail to realize that they are also an important part in marketing other teams and players. Its quite a disgrace to the NBA as a whole.

Agreed. Joyless is a libtard, she has no awareness of the media hype game. China Disney Inc owns both FOX Sports and ESPN. All they do is talk about Bron 24/7. Even when there is nothing to discuss at the moment about him. He didn't even mention retirement this season, and yet there are questions and fake narratives beginning by shows and reporters like this of him potentially leaving LA or retiring... like wtf? LeBron is a corporation that is continually being pushed by FOX Sports and ESPN. Joyless Taylor brings him up constantly for no reason.

Because lets be real to be the face of the nba you have to be the best player consistently in the league throughout the decades and no injury and i dont see that in ant not while giannis , jokic,luka or even sga are around.
