Thank you so much for sharing that information! He is one of my favorite guards and I have witnessed his kindness many many times. I've seen him do everything you said above. When I viewed this video, I tried my best to get a good look at his face! I knew I had seen him before but wasn't exactly sure which one he was. I'm always blown away with his kindness. Everything I watch a video (everyday x 10!) I find myself wishing I knew their names. I've never got to travel and since stumbling on to this site, I feel like I'm there. I'm SO very proud of these men you would not believe! Would you let this young man know he has a grandmother in Oklahoma, United States that couldn't be prouder for his service to his country. Who knows, maybe he will give me a silent hello!
Even though your off duty your never really off, so well done to that Trooper assisting his fellow Guards. Very smart looking as well and I hope he and all of his mates have a great break soon as they have had a very busy year. Lovely to see teachers who really did a great job watching their little students so all had a lovely visit at Horse Guards, they can teach older students a lot as to behaviour and respect. Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘❤❤❤❤
He certainly is altho to be strictly correct he was only off duty after the last group of blues left the stables and yard. He is Trooper Ellis, otherwise known as everyone's favourite trooper, because when he's on duty, usually as the gatesman(that's the foot guard who stands under the arches opposite the stable entry who goes out to check on the two box men) he's know to step closer to those who are elderly or disabled or young so they can get a good picture. He's also known for having a mum with a new baby at the arch, and instead of stamping hard as they're supposed to do when initiating a move, he did so VERY softly so as not to startle the baby... He's also the guy that whilst adjusting the tack of one of the box men, left a sweet little kiss on his horses nose. In short he's not only pretty, but very kind and sweet, and this last week it's been nice to see him in a non ceremonial position where he can laugh and smile instead of keeping a poker face. Really lovely young man and a credit to his regiment
@@outfromtheshadowsHe really is. Such a pity he’s no longer there. He was like a ray of sunshine amongst all that pomp and formality. I’m really gonna miss seeing him around horse guards.
Yep that's trooper Ellis looking dapper as ever. Hat was a sensible idea given the weather. I swear that lad ALWAYS looks so well put together, it's hard to imagine he's not been a boxman. (The box men are chosen at the morning inspection. Best turn out gets the boxes, then the gatesman and chitsman. He usually does gatesman duties, when he's on mounted duty and today lol, we discovered why.... In his own words"i like my evenings" lol. Thank you Ellis for making me feel EVER so slightly less of a slob for doing just enough to "get by" rofl.
He's been on duty as the stableman for this last Blues duty. That means in camo and beret, working with the horses and assisting the box men and foot guards.
It seems to me there are so many troopers named Ellis I am very confused. My favourite is the tall trooper sitting on the horse on the left side when looking from the front. I was told by two ladies he was Ellis. There is also another stable man trooper that he and his partner are trying for a baby and his name is Ellis. So we need to know their real names so we can sort out who is who please?
@@suegermaine5730 Trooper Ellis is the soldier in this video wearing the leather jacket and hat who is also the trooper who told John from London Walks that he and his gf were going to be trying for a baby. He's also the trooper who's been known to kiss the horses and move for photos for disabled, elderly or very young folk. He was NOT however a boxman while the Blues were on duty because he was the stableman, and wore camo all week. He's also never been a boxman, only a gatesman and occasionally a chitsman too I think(the foot guards in the arches) so I'm not sure who you're talking about as "the tall one on the left" but it's not trooper Ellis
Yes it is. He's a Blues and Royals trooper, and they just handed over to the LifeGuards today. He was the stableman for this duty, so Id guess he's going out once they've been dismissed for the day, so has gotten changed into civvies before leaving HorseGuard yard.
@@monicabarbosa7731what? I have NO idea what you're on about. Ellis is a trooper in the Blues(and Royals) who have been on duty at HorseGuards for the last few days They did the regimental guard change today so the LifeGuards have taken over at Horse Guards Yard as The King's Guard. The Blues and Royals don't stop being Blues, just because the LifeGuards have taken over duty. The reason that Ellis was in civvies I imagine, is because he was the stableman during this duty. The soldiers on that duty wear camos usually, and at the end of the changeover they make their own way back to barracks since they're not mounted. I assume he was going out after duty so changed clothes before leaving. I said all this in my last post so I'm really unsure what you're taking issue with?
Awww how sweet are the little ones but I had to laugh cos 1 was going urgh more interested in the horse poo bless em kids were good but they are so funny nice to see them out n about with their teachers I think they were teachers from nursery oh I'm so tired after watching these brilliant videos but best crack on with wrapping the Xmas prezzies (anyone wanna help)god blessed the guard 💂 n god save the king 👑 💂🌲🪖🥾🇬🇧xxx
Lemme guess … he is super model ? Doing charitable photoshoot?? Perhaps, selfies with royal guards make a wishes prayer reached the heavens ? I think it’s quite delightful actually if so. Cheers 😊 “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you” (John 15:7).
@@user-qd9iq2tu7c Trooper Ellis of the Blues and Royals, he's the guard who side steps closer to kids to have picture taken and didn't stamp his feet because couple with baby wanted picture and he didn't want to scare the baby. He kissed the horse, He's kind to Horses, the disabled and children, our favourite guard sadly he has now left the army so we won't see him again
These poor black guard horses throw their heads from discomfort, all day long & many many of them. And it’s not typical in the horse world. After watching them & seeing this, especially this one, it appears to be tack, probably the bits are wrong. Horsemanship has become much less torturous to animals but these habits & old fashioned equipment they’re still using is poor. It ought to change. There are much better solutions. Looks like the bit weighs a lot seeing this horse straining. Poor thing. The past decades has seen much kinder approaches to horses including no bit bridles, for one thing & training using consent from horses, not that these guard horses would ever receive that kindness sad to say. Many yrs experience person saying this imho.
These horses are well cared for, they are not as you imply abused, they also need to be able to control the horse around tourists. Horse Guard Parade is a working Army Barracks not some theme park. Riding horses round a paddock or at a gymkhana/equestrian event is totally different to a Military Horse. The Horses stand in the box 1 hour at a time, often agitated by disrespectful, annoying tourists who should not touch the horse or the guards while they are on duty but very few show them the respect they deserve, the guards are soldiers of the highest order only soldiers with exemplary service can become a member of the Kings life Guard, Again they are not actors there to entertain tourists they are on duty. Your honest opinion knows nothing about our military or our traditions
