They shouldn't have to shout that though. People should have two brain cells to rub together and realize that themselves 😠😉 Of course, to realize that requires some sort of a concept of a horse being a living, breathing creature - and not a prop for their nonsense.
@@MarilynMejorado-ee8qh there should be a red line on the floor, do NOT cross, and fine the sods that do.Those horses should not have to put up with that, it is sheer cruelty.
The men and women of the guards serve the peoples of the United Kingdom and represent both the monarchy as head of state and Parliament. the elected government. Many, very many, of these tourists would be appalled and angry if tourists treated their national representatives and institutions with such flagrant displays of disrespect and frank idiocy.
No, they don't "represent both the monarchy as head of state and Parliament." That's simply and completely incorrect - the UK is not a military state so this has never been the case.
Wow this bunch of tourists is crazy pushing and shoving to get a picture just like their life depended on it. That poor guard and Horse shouldn't have to be put through that.
Just think, THIS is what represents humanity. So rude, pushy, disrespectful to themselves and the guards. They should send a copy of this to every one of them.
The Kings Gaurds owe the public nothing. They are loyal to the King and their country, not grown ass adults on vacation that treat them and their horses like an attraction put there for their entertainment. These men, women and horses are active military soldiers on an actual military base. The public needs to be accountable for their own actions and the consequences to those actions. It's so ridiculous that even needs to be said. These soldiers deserve our respect. Regardless of where you are from you are a visitor and they are allowing you to experience these magnificent creatures up close.

@darrenjones3681 Thank you for the correction. I apologize to the Gunners for the mis classification. @darrenjones3681 Is she not active military working on a military base? Regardless of my ignorance on the military branches, my comment stands. She, along with every soldier who has and does have the courage to make the life or death decision to serve their country deserve respect, without question. The people who are entitled and can't comprehend that they are taking that picture because of the sacrifices the members of all military branches have made are the only ones that get offended by comments like mine. (To be clear, I'm not saying that's you) :-)
@@desertbunnyaz No, wrong on all counts, sorry. 1. They ARE "an attraction put there for their [the public's] entertainment." They're doing "Public Duties" - for the public. That's the only reason they're there. 2. No, she's not "active military", at least in the broader military sense of the word - "active" means operational, and this is a ceremonial duty done by a ceremonial unit. In this case the unit (King's Troop) only ever does ceremonial duties and that's what those in it do throughout their military career. No disrespect to them at all, but that's simply what they do, and very, very few, will ever serve in another unit or operationally and if they do they are very, very unlikely to ever return to King's Troop. 3. It's not a "military base", although it used to be a couple of hundred years ago. It's now only a small administrative office building for HQ Household Division and HQ London District, used as a right of way for the public to go from the Mall to St James's. I'm not "offended" by your comment, but it's simply wrong.
Wow, what a zoo! Some people crowd around the horse and guard to the point of claustrophobic thoughts. They’re in crinkley rain gear, fluttering umbrellas and they rush in for photos ☹️. What’s the guard to do other then move people with his/ her foot? How exhausting that must be.
I understand wanting a picture. But the constant crowding, the noise this group always makes, and the incessantly touching is so annoying. They may ruin it for everyone if they finally decide to limit the public’s access to them. Too stressful for the horses
The Asians knew they were too close. Trying to act like a drama queen. The CC picked up one saying I told you, I told you. They should be taught manners 🤣
It's not a peace symbol for those in Asia - it simply means "good luck" or "success" although the exact history and meaning varies depending on the country.
In jedem Fall, sieht es albern und dumm aus. Die Meisten machen es nur, weil alle es machen. Könnte Wetten, dass viele überhaupt nicht wissen , was es eigentlich bedeutet.
Omg what a dreadful day for horses and guard. I would say if your visiting this place be Quiet, keep well away from the horses and Guard, do not touch guards or horses or anything either of them are wearing, do not rush at them and just put your umbrella down before you move towards them. These horses do really well and they do not deserve to be treated so poorly. Why would you rush at any animal, especially with a brolly up, I am sure my dog would hate it too. Then leave quickly and quietly. I get so annoyed about these truly rude morons.
Our horse was a rat killer. He would stand with one foot on its toes, silently , then kick. He didn't like rats. So why bug a horse til he decides your a pest.
That officer is great also! He often intervenes for the guard when the crowds get unruly.. And he is very proactive about attempting to educate the tourists as to the proper behavior.
The patience this guard shows is incredible, how stressful to watch out for what the tourists are doing all around you! I think they should paint a bright line on the ground and ask people to keep outside the line, it might help, just a more respectful distance.
Mit Bitten kommen sie bei dieser Art Menschen nicht an, da helfen nur Verbote oder eben Polizeieinsatz. Es ist traurig aber wahr.Anstand, Respekt, Rücksichtnahme sind leider nur noch Fremdworte.
@@trinastrong6561 i noticed all of his replies to people are disrespectful to the guards..i would like to see him do the extensive physical and psychological training that they do to become guards! He would be crying for his mommy in a day! He really needs to educate himself!! Just ignore him!! He isn't worth it!!
@@m3gan7737If you're talking about me, not "disrespectful" in the slightest to either HCMR or King's Tp, ever ... ... and FWIW I spent a decade or two in the Army but I don't recall "crying for my mommy" or anyone at that level doing any "extensive psychological training" ... ... how about you?
As much as some of these tourists are clueless, the authorities have to take some responsibility for setting up these Horse Guards as tourist attractions/photo ops, without proper crowd control. Having soldiers and armed police officers as tourist crowd controllers is demeaning and inappropriate.
These women guards are the worst they do nothing to protect the horse put the animal stress with to many people touching it they need take lessons from the other guards
The Gunners have to take their orders from their superiors and obey , none of us know what those orders are . HCav are the same the Troopers have to obey orders . Don't judge please .
@@user-be5xr9zc6p There are female guards in the Household Cavalry regiments and they also ride the much taller black horses. The Blues & Royals regiment has quite a few female guards now. The smaller horses are selected for the Kings Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, because they have a very different role, in that they're normally towing gun carriages, not usually standing guard duty at Horse Guards. They tend to be smaller and sturdier than cavalry mounts. RHA are only there for a short time, doing the relief while the Household Cavalry have their annual break, and that includes the Household Cavalry horses also having a break. The mounted cavalry horses are unavailable to them. RHA ride the horses they know well. It has nothing to do with their ability as riders. It also appears that there may have been instructions from above to limit the shouting at tourists. Good to see that guard kicking away the tourists who were far too close to her and her mount.
@@user-be5xr9zc6p Absolute, complete, total rubbish. King's Troop ride Cleveland Bays, Household Cavalry ride Irish draughts or Irish draught cross. None are ponies, and in King's Troop the size of the horse depends on their position when pulling a gun carriage. Tallest are the leaders, obviously leading at the front, centres in the middle, then wheelers at the back - shortest as they have to turn a smaller circle, and stockier as they have to act as the brakes. The riders position depends on their experience, ability and rank, not their gender.
Nonsense. These horses are more relaxed and far happier. They are generally kept on more loose reins more in the box, so they're not as bothered by the bit (that is shaking their heads up and down, chewing excessively and sticking their tongues out as much). They are handled with more care generally. You see much more of a good connection between the rider and the horse generally, and you don't see so much of these horses display nervousness or being spooked because of that trust. These guards are also highly attentive and really on it, both in terms of helping nice tourists out and protecting their horses, which this guard did! It's not down to the individual guards to decide if the tourists generally get to touch the horses. That is no doubt down to protocol. The sign should say "Don't touch the horses!" and that's all there is to it, and I do hope that it will before someone gets hurt here!
Clickbait. Nobody was ever "kicked for being too close", either by the horse or the rider, and the only "immediate response" by the "officer" was to tell tell them what the sign said and to be careful to show that he spoke Japanese. Pure clickbait.
@@alisonfenwick9477 Thank you - missed it. Not "kicked for being too close", though, but for not being careful with her umbrella. Fair enough, it hardly justifies any of the excitement.
@@mariaasplund6288 Hardly "shoving an umbrella into a horse", either - just being a bit careless. Nothing to get excited about, as the MoD Police told her (in Japanese).
@@John-G How would you like a hand grenade on your legs? It's how a horse sees an umbrella. Now, you are obviously the type who has all day to babble on, but you have spent 0 years with horses and have no understanding for this situation - and it shows. I have spent 58 years however with horses. So, you now have a choice between learning something or being as daft as the people in this clip.
