In Yggdrasil, the guild used to do small raids on rival guilds and often get defeated. They would try to get as much information on the target as possible while also limiting their own abilities and strategies in order to not leak much info. They would retreat in defeat afterwards but will then attack and destroy their target the next time. So he kinda planned for it to fail to lure the strong warriors, and possibly players, and gather information on them. All according to keikaku. Plus iirc, he got info that the "Drop of red" are mostly seen around the northern part of the kingdom, which is where the failed raid is at.

Nigredo is based on stories of a mother going insane and turning into a ghost after losing their infant child. She has a very nurturing personality and is along with Pestonia and Sebas one of the few "good aligned" NPCs in Nazarick, at least relative to the rest of them.

A detail about what happened in this episode that wasn't really made clear in the anime was that Ainz intentionally sent a weak force here to give the humans a decent chance of actually winning because he wanted it to serve as an escape route to some innocent citizens of the kingdom as a way to appease the few people in Nazarick who are against the war and don't want the humans to get slaughtered such as Sebas and Nigredo. So this was a loss that Ainz planned on having in a way to appease the human sympathizers.

Nigredo and Albedo were created as opposites, Albedo beautiful on the outside but evil on the inside where Nigredo is horror on the outside but good natured on the inside. Yes, the appearance of the "Gundam" had all of us doing the "WTF!" dance and crying because we had to wait a week, while the LN people were just snickering going "Finally!" adding fuel to the fire of us waiting for next week.

I’ve stated this before, but Albedo and Nigredo are polar opposites. Albedo is supposed to be beautiful on the outside but wicked on the inside while Nigredo is scary on the outside but merciful on the inside. This is because their creator, as it was stated in episode one of season one, makes very intricate characters but specifically likes to make characters with personalities opposite of their looks.

Something that was left out is what was Ainz's true motives in declaring war that he had not made clear to the guardians? It wasn't mentioned in the anime but clear in the novel that it served as an opportunity to have the guardians gain experience in war incase he'd ever face an opponent that's an actual threat. So the Kingdom's civilians essentially were target practice. It's very cruel but his intent in the end was all for the benefit of Nazarick and to prepare the ones he loves incase a real threat were to ever meet them. It's another example that to Ainz Nazarick is everything, even if he has no desire to hurt them he has no issue slaughtering the entire world if it means it'll make the guardians safer and happier

There are 3 sisters: Nigredo, Rubedo and Albedo.their names are based on the 3 states of alchemical transmutation. Nigredo has a soft spot for babies and is part of her back storie. Actually to enter her room without being attacked you need to go in with a baby dill and give it to her. By the way Rubedo is actualy the strongest NPC in nazarick. Both Pestonya and Rubedo were punished for trying to save the children that were taken from the kingdom during Jaldabaoth's attack. If you want more context on the NPC's and ygdrasil i xan recomend you a channel called aninews. They have bacstories of the npc's differebt factions, how the mechanics of ygdrasul work and other stuff. Is quite cool and they even have a series called skipped content that compares the novels with the anime

To clarify, generously, maybe about half of their population survived, with Marquis Raven and the like defecting to Nazarick, and another fraction escaped thanks Nigredo and Pestonia’s request, via that northern port. As for the remaining… Well, any chance at mercy they had went up in smoke the moment a certain head was delivered to Ainz.

Hey Angel, do you remember when in season 1 Ainz was looking at Albedo's settings and mentioned that Tabula Smaragdina liked "gap moe" (contradiction between a character's looks and personality)? Just like Albedo who is a real beauty but was a bi*ch (before Ainz changed that), her sister Nigredo looks horrific, but actually is one of the nicest, caring and most "good" characters in Nazarick. The other thing that Tabula liked was alchemy. His name "Tabula Smaragdina" is latin for "emerald tablet". Without going into too much detail, the tablet was supposed to contain the secrets of creating the philosopher stone and the three processes to make it were albedo, nigredo and rubedo, hence the names of the three NPCs that Tabula created.

Sadly i missed it. 😢 This episode begins with the continuation of the previous one, in which the king offers his own head as payment for his country's failure towards Nazarick. A rather intelligent, noble and above all admirable gesture. Unfortunately, although surprised, Albedo is not really there to negotiate, but to go through the formality of declaring war. Albedo announces that the Kingdom has a month before the hostilities begin, but that is all a trap. This strategy is not the best, but the only one they can think of, so they begin to summon their men to the capital, leaving all the border towns unprotected... which is just what Demiurge wants. Instead of marching towards the capital, Nazarick deployed their troops to the periphery to destroy all the towns and cities near the border. That way they can make sure no one escapes and they also check that other countries don't come in with their armies to help. I asked a friend who read all of Overlord and in his words: "it's not clear if Brain's orphans escape before all borders are closed by Nazarick, but since Maruyama hasn't said otherwise, we can assume they made it out in time." In this way, while everyone in the capital believes that the armies of Nazarick have not left E-Rantel, in reality hundreds of towns in the Kingdom are being exterminated. And the reason why nobody found out until it was too late was that Demiurge set up an excellent information control network, so that no news would reach the capital. Furthermore, Albedo saw to it that many nobles defected to Ainz's side early on. Also, Nazarick is relentless in extermination there are never any survivors to tell the tale. Ainz decides to use this war for his guardians to practice creative ways of fighting and invading, in preparation for possible future clashes with players. Surprisingly the best of all was Shalltear, who decided to use the Frost Dragons to drop a type of horse-shaped undead on the cities, which devour the souls of all the living around them. This improvisation earned her Ainz's congratulations. However, the NPCs with Positive Karma suffer greatly from all the massacres and devastation, so they plead with Ainz to stop or at least leave some survivors. That is why the invasion of E-Naeul was made with enough troops to win, but not enough to exterminate everyone and allow some humans to escape. But that's it, there was no major plan behind it. Nigredo should have been shown in Season 1 already because she has tracking Magic with which she found Shalltear when she was under Mind Control. You should definitely watch AniNews' video on Albedo's Sisters. (the naming is AWESOME! i love Maruyama's brain!) Im not going to spoil too much on Nigredo but she is basically Gap Moe personified with a bit of infant weirdness sprinkled on top. Four Armaments is a mithril adventurer team from the Re-Estize Kingdom. Their leader, Scama, is a young female warrior with natural blonde hair but had it dyed black and then white (because Momon became known as Darkness) as a way to distinguish her group more. She is characterized by using a magic tomahawk that can summon an ethereal copy of the weapon. Her partner Lilynette seems to be a priestess of the god of the earth, although her body and ways of moving are more typical of a high-class prostitute, for this reason she is the object of desire of almost all the singles in the city of E-Naeul. Unfortunately for them, Lilynette is a shotacon, which is a Japanese stereotype of a woman who is attracted to pre-pubescent men. The opposite of a Lolicon. (Why do they have words for that ?) Regarding Mithril/Mithral: this is actually an interesting thing. The original "mithril" was from Lord of the Rings. Dungeons and Dragons, waaaaay back in the early days, changed the name to "mithral" to avoid copyright lawsuits after they got hit with one for using "hobbit" (which they changed to "halfling"), "balrog" (which became "balor"), and "ent" (which became treant). These non-copyrighted names wound up also being used over the years in JRPGs, which in turn influenced many light novel authors and mangakas, which is why you'll see the D&D versions showing up so often in anime.

The person who created Albedo and Nigredo really liked to create NPC's like weird, Albedo has a really beautiful appearance, but in the inside she is a Succubus, a demon that depends on the culture, is a demon who drains the life force while having s3x with men or also in other cultures is a demon who gives you really sexual dreams and by your excitement, she gets stronger On the other hand we have Nigredo, with a horror movie appearance, she really likes the little kids, she wants to be safe to grow and to live, but also she doesn't care about them when they grow up Nigredo is the oldest, Albedo is the middle sister and there is also a small sister, without saying too much, she is the strongest NPC in Nazarick without doubt I almost forgot, the name of the person who created those 3 sisters is Tabula Smaragdina or something like that, is weird, the translation is something like green table, but table as a piece of wood, not table like where you eat

not every resident of nazarick is pure evil like albedo and demiurge. some are good natured. just like sebas and head maid. also this dog girl and nigredo are good.

Albedo has 2 sisters. Nigredo and Rubedo. Nigredo is born from a horror story and built more to scare people. Albedo's build is more like a tank. Rubedo's build has not been explicitly told but most feel she is like a terminator without feeling just mechanical killing.
