I just saw them in Sacramento a week ago. Although they only had a few songs as the opener, they sounded AMAZING. High energy, the crowd was super into them, and they sounded perfect. She switches from clean to harsh vocals live flawlessly.

NOVELISTS is sadly underrated and underexposed. Their second album, Noir, is one of my favorite of all time. Camille was guest featured on their track, Ces't la vie, and other than ending abruptly, is the best song on their 2020 album of the same name. Having her added as the lead was a pleasant surprise, and so was this Okapi EP :)

Idc if it was metalcore or not, it's an amazing song!

If you're looking for metalcore with a choir, then I'm kinda doing just that. I'm taking my influences from simple 2000's metalcore and J-Pop and other stuff, and I'm doing cool riffs and breakdowns but the vocals are just like 40 tracks of harmonies. I only have vocals tracked on one song at the moment but it's very cool. Huge feel-good chorus with a satisfying solo to follow it up. It's an interesting mix I'm going for. XD

Please credit the artist in your title. It helps both you and the artist in case someone has a concrete search query and want to be sure this video is about the specific artist without having to doomscroll comments or your description.

Actually, unfortunately I am learning that up and coming bands get far more attention if I don’t mention the name but instead put something enticing about the music itself in the title. Maybe it doesn’t work as well for you, but this title brings far more new people to this band than otherwise. That’s something I am keen to do. Sorry if you find it frustrating.

@@SteveOGRock No, it's just that I usually specifically search for a few reactors [ You included ] when I want to listen to something I am interested into, and this time I had a REALLY hard time finding it.
@SteveOGRock
@SteveOGRock 3 месяца назад
Understandable. If the song was like only just realised yesterday then I would put the artist and song title in there as I know some people would be searching for that in the first day or so, but I’m late to the party on this one so went a different way. The stats seem to support the decision in this case. It’s something I’m continuously trying to adjust for in order to maximise the audience for it. Not everyone’s the same. Entirely fair enough if this wasn’t set up in a way that works best for you, but you may be the minority in this case. I’m trying to scale the impact where I can. If you’re keen on my reaction to something in particular, you can search in my channel videos and it should come up even if it’s not in the title as it’s tagged for search that way. Also worth noting: this video was only online a matter of hours ago so if you searched for it before then you would have got zero results as it didn’t exist until very recently.

I don't understand why they didn't upload this live version to the EP, it sounds much better than the studio version... On the other hand, a very good EP from this band, I hope they can establish themselves as a vocalist over time.

This is mot metalcore. Its basic pop metal with some modern metalcore-like rifts. Theres not even a single dirty vocal. This is more like Evanescence than any metalcore.

To be fair a lot of metal core bands have boy-bandish demeanor, although most are not as poppy as this.

@@andrewgood7586 Sure, taste is subjective, but unclean vocals aren't the sole marker of metalcore. Plenty of metalcore bands explore clean vocals, and this song prioritizes them. That's it. Genre labels can be helpful, but trying to categories everything leads to close minds. This song is well-crafted and passionate, and that's what matters. Try appreciate the music for what it is.

@gianlucaluongo4974 maybe not in the classical sense, but it does have metalcore and prog elements, almost like it’s a cross between “That’s The Spirit” era BMTH and Polaris with a female vocalist

No they aren't, and even if they were, the world needs God right now, because we are fucking up our civilization because we are being led by evil forces to a place of despair, hatred, anger, fear, vanity, greed, jealously, arrogance, cruelty, sexual deviance, sadness, addiction, and everything else we are doing to ourselves.
