We along with Mike from PineBeltRelics were invited back to Jeremy’s amazing site in Louisiana for another dig. We decided to start off where we left off on the last trip when one of Randy’s white whales went down but that is another story itself and Randy explains it in this video. Not only did we find another of the elusive San Patrice arrowheads but we found two of them along some other incredible artifacts as well. While we were fighting the weather down here Matthew and Chris were taking advantage of the rain farther up north and scored some incredible arrowheads up there. Guess who still hasn’t found a San Patrice? Come along and find out!

Spike, Randy, I came across your channel about a month ago. I have watched other related channels but none of them stand to compare with yours. I lived in Leake County MS from '82 to '98. I have not witnessed the southern comradery that I see between you all since I left MS. I truly enjoy watching your videos. Sometimes watch them over and over. I am now retired and live in Central Virginia. I have a 5 acre plot of land. I have accidently found a point a few years ago on an elevated portion above a spring fed stream. Now after watching your videos, I believe I may need to investigate that elevated area and the stream a little more. Thank you all for providing such great videos. God bless you all and happy hunting.

A little late but man it’s so nice to see this video. You guys are very good at what you do and your love and appreciation is contagious. Growing up my dad wasn’t the greatest of dads. To put it mildly. But one thing the man did do was teach me about arrowhead hunting and take me out as a young child. I turned 12 or 13 and basketball came calling here in Indiana and I couldn’t of cared less about hunting points. Boy you already know there came a time later in my life I regretted being that selfish teen boy. After that was gone there wasn’t much left that was me and him. Now I’m 45 and my youngest son and me are relic hunting treasure hunting fools :). And I forgave dad long ago and he is still kicking. Life is good and it’s stuff like arrowhead hunting that in the end matters so much because if pushes us to spend time with friends and family.

The two best points I've ever found, I found as a kid in Texas on the Gulf coast. The first was on the ground on my school yard, right where the rain was running off the roof of the gym. It was a tar and gravel roof, and there was tar on one side of the point. The second, I found not too long after, crab hunting with my friend Cash, poking around breakwater rocks, it was stuck between two big rocks, I ended up trading that point , in a curio shop, for a Barlow knife, my first pocket knife, so, great memories.

I have found a few really good points after a few years in fields. I feel like I can locate spots thanks to your how to videos. But what kind of land are you using? Is this private property? And of so how do you ask to go diging around looking for rocks 😂. I'm use to getting permission to fields. But I am addicted to finding them and can use some tips of actually excavating!
@HeartbreakerRelics
@HeartbreakerRelics Год назад
Thanks for watching. We're glad to be able to help you. If you see a place that looks promising ,ask permission to dig and tell the property owner you will leave it as you found it or better. Some of the places we dig are on land the person we are digging with owns himself. In several cases they don't want their holes filled in but on others they do. Unless they tell you otherwise, fill them in. Thanks again and good luck.

Why would the natives leave these points there? Why not take them when they left?
@HeartbreakerRelics
@HeartbreakerRelics Год назад
Most of the stuff we find is used up knives and points. When they got through with them they just threw them down. Plus when they moved they didn't carry a lot with them. Sometimes they would cache them and leave them behind so they would know where they are when they come back to that site but sometimes they don't make it back. Those are the caches people find. If you think about it, even if they take some with them sooner or later they're going to be lost or thrown away. Every point or blade that has ever been made is out there somewhere to this day.

Thank you for your advice! I watched the video and using the information I found an area on my property that is a definite camp site. I am finding chips all the way from the top of the ground to a 1.5 feet deep. I haven’t found my first point yet but I did find a rather large piece that is definitely worked, I would guess it to be a scraper of some sort. I haven’t gotten to do much digging yet but just the test holes but they tell a story. Lots of different kinds of flint chips, fired rocks, and even charcoal. I’m located in eastern Oklahoma. I appreciate the help sir!

Difference between digging sites and sifting creeks is a STARK contrast in consistency and potential for stuff like this happening. Y'all will continue to have days like this if you stay persistent on sites like that. Don't fix what ain't broke and you'll continually recover killers like that. Paleo sites are tough sometimes but if you're able to dig less than three feet down and pull Paleo like that, keep after it.
