My heart filled with joy and exhilaration throughout this transcendent rendition by, Eva, only to have my heart sink to my gut in disappointment and anger when I heard the din of a few clapping hands after she was done. I despise music execs who didn't, and still don't, have the good sense to make it possible for us discerning fans to readily access real, honest, and sublime talents like Eva during their lifetime. She had to die first and have her recordings travel across the Atlantic before most of us even knew of her. That truly sucks. If I had lived in the DC area back then I hope I would've been smart enough to be one of her groupies fortunate enough to watch her perform live. She also sounded like a cool person to have known.
Another fantastic song. About 20 yrs ago I downloaded thru LIMEWIRE Time after Time by Eva and LOVED it. I finally happened upon her music by accident this yr 2023 on RU-vid. So sad beyond words after I found out what happened to her. Every song on here utterly fantastic Always thinking of she may have done :(
So blessed to be able to hear this knowing the singer is gone... Her spirit lives and flies whenever we play her music.... Don't count the time... Enjoy every moment we have... Thank you Eva Cassidy. This is I believe my favorite version of the song yet....
This is a true lady in every sense of the word. It broke my heart to learn years ago that she had passed away. She was shy by nature and never realised what a talent she possessed. It is a joy to hear that beautiful voice...beautiful inside and out. RIP sweet angel...rise up singing in Heaven! N.
Simply magnificent, transcendent. Thank God this was recorded! Too bad it wasn't also video taped. Alas, Eva, the world came to realize, to appreciate you, the beauty and genius of you, after it was too late to celebrate the uniqueness of you. So sorry.
Hey folks...can you imagine Eva doing a spot on that X factor nonsense...!!! she would tear the place apart. Beautiful voice, woman and her family....RIP Eva xx
She reminds me of the late Tim Hardin - similarly regarded as a folk singer - but, both are actually jazz singers due to their phrasing and refusal to sing a song the same way twice. Check out her version of Curtis Mayfield's "People Get Ready" from "Live At Blues Alley".....
Thanks for sharing this. Great video. Would be cool if you'd come check out our videos as well, we just posted a new original song that you might dig called 'Shine'. Much appreciated. -Goodnite Neverland
Beautiful version of Sandy Denny's wonderful song - almost as good as the original - but not quite - there is a tiny loss of nuance in the melody but still absolutely beautiful
