Hm. I don't think I would call Ahbrams or Haze gimmicky. Gimmicky has a pretty negative connotation to it, and I don't think invis for Haze or Melee for Ahbrams is really a gimmick, it's more that they have a unique playstyle because of their kit. I would say Seven is both the least and most gimmicky of these 3 characters. If you build around his ult then he is the most gimmicky, but if you build around his 3 and gun then he's the most standard of these 3 characters. So yea I don't disagree with the substance of what you're saying. I guess I just disagree with the word choice, since gimmicky makes them sound like they're bad or cheesey when in reality they just play a bit differently.
Don't worry, I see what you mean and I can agree to it - generally yes, I just feel a new player will focus on the shiny 4 button Ultimates and not the rest of the kit on those heroes and it will take away from the learning experience in my opinion.
