Hello, im the painter behind the 4 seasons boat you passed, it was painted on behalf of the owners at dewsbury marina. Id happily share some more work if youd like to see. Many thanks for the kind words.. Squidge
Oh wow I'd love to see your work. I've just painted mine camoflage. I'm very critical of my own work. My brother was going to help me he was a great artist but sadly died 3 years ago.
Our favourite quick and tasty meal when camping. One ripe banana and 2 eggs whipped together and you have perfect pancake batter. Nothing else needed. Cook as per any pancake and serve with Bacon or as a sweet with strawberries and yoghurt. Noodle soup made with 2minute noodles and any veggies easy peasy!
You have to read it like a pirate: I one knew a lass, that sailed a ship. It filled with but rum, no mate have a sip. A long ship she be, with her captain at sea. And when she reached land, she share it with me. The flag that is flown, a skull and cross bone. It's nothing to toy with, that ship be her home. So raise your cup highly, and drink of the rum, and if you don't do it, you sure be a bum.
Your editiing and music selection skills are fantastic, and are a rather fine compliment to your narration skills as well. However, your content and personality are what truly makes this channel !!! Cheers from a small town in Alabama. Woo Hoo!
Love your beginning with Twirly Whirly Woofer Bonny doing her stuff, lovely little woofer. I love poached egg on crumpet for a quick lunch. Have to freeze crumpets individually though but the mixture of loads of butter and egg yolk in the holes of toasted crumpet is so yummy.
Mate i'm a fellow narrowboater 90% through a FULL refit from bare metal and was watching a video tour of your boat from 3 YEARS ago to steal ideas. It made me really happy to click your channel link and see that you're still crackin and knockin out content. I got an extra kick out of the fact that you're currently driving around my home city of Manchester. As i'm typing this your video showed you on the Leigh branch of the canal which is where the other half of my family are from. So random!! Anyway, your content is brilliantly produced and you yourself are a pleasure to listen to. That bit about the orange water tickled me. Keep making content and people will keep watching it!!!
This is the most joyful and uplifting point of my week. Thank you Heidi & Bonnie! The true measure of a person’s humanity is their regard for animals (such that dogs and cats are)- I love how you work with Bonnie (not that you mentioned it, just that it is evident!).
What a wonderful, uplifting video. And what absolutely lovely, amazing people you meet within the waterway community! Just heartwarming! Worsley looks a stunning, picturesque town. As English towns SHOULD look! Taken care of! 🙌🙌🙌 Truly LOVE your vlogs Heidi! Bonny absolutely living the most amazing, joyful life!
What a great Sunday roast on Tuesday😆 It’s lovely to be see you back among the boating people, they are so lovely and generous. I enjoyed the towns and houses but I agree living in the lighthouse would be a blast. You need to put the ditties in a book and sell them, with the writers permission, I’d buy one. Linda
Heidi good day to ya, I can't get over how Bonny is doing when it comes to socializing with other dogs and people. I know you are VERY proud of her for that. As for simple food recipes, try frying up left over spaghetti or macaroni, then crack an egg over it. Having left over rice is always good as you can heat it up and then scramble up an egg in the reheated rice. Don't forget about French toast; bread soaked in egg and then put into a fry pan. after it is cooked put syrup, cinnamon or jam or nothing on it. Take care Heidi, Mark Alberta, Canada
I’ve just discovered your gorgeous channel while searching for something jolly and uplifting to watch. And here it is. I absolutely love watching anything to do with canals, rivers, lakes, the sea. And your videos have snippets of history, legends and myths to boot. All round, a fabulous watch and here’s to many, many more. I’ve subscribed. 😊👍⚓️👋🏼
Greeting from sunny SA. A great episode, music, people, the sound of that lovely engine & great scenery. Thank you. I have a quick recipe for you. My grandchildren love it & ask for it regularly. Ingredients: 2 eggs, 500 grams of pasta, small amount of cheese, one chopped Onion & a packet of bacon (chop the bacon into small square +- 1 inch. Cooking instructions. Place the pasta of your choice into a pot of boiling water & boil for +- 15 min. once these are cooked rinsed in cold water & empty water. In the meantime cook the squares of bacon to your liking. We like them crispy. Prepare the chopped onion, whisk the eggs, grate the cheese. When the pasta is ready & the bacon cooked add them together. I add the bacon to the pasta, then mix. Add the onion & mix, add the eggs & mix. I also add some crushed garlic & ginger & heaped teaspoon mix again & add the cheese. This should take you about 25 to 30 minutes. Our grandkids & myself love to add tomato sauce but this is up to you. This should give you at least 3 to 4 meals. I normally make a double batch which can feed seven or eight of us. Enjoy & have a great day. Dave
Sure enough about the boating community, here in the USA too. Boaters seem to understand about helping each other no matter their skin color or religion or who they love or their shoe size or anything else. Good for you for offering to help those folks whose boat came unpinned. On my last caravan trip, I chatted a bit with a neighbor camper in the campground that week, nice folks, tho we didn't really talk much ... and then on my drive home with my trailer/caravan in tow, I came around a curve in the road to see THEM pulled over on the side of the road. Of course I stopped. Flat tire, help came, but they felt so much better to know I had stopped in case they needed more help. We ALL must do that for each other! Hmmm, you'd think the businesses along the Bridgewater canal would want boaters to stay there, and spend money. You're the best. 🙂 You and Bonny. And the ditty from Jayne. Great vlog!!!
Heidi you are ace! I am a fellow middle aged woman with exactly your sense of humour :D Just put my deposit on my dream boat and will soon be living full time on the canal as a single female boater (who will also be laughing at the bridges that are number 69)
Recipe: Tofu scramble. Get firm tofu, a spice called Tofu scramble and follow directions. Healthy and delicious! I'm not a vegetarian either. Plus tofu helps with hot flashes 🔥I watch all your vids from Illinois, USA. 😁 Rock on!
Heidi is truly marvelous ! Ahoy Heidi & Bonny! ❤❤❤ from Chicago, IL USA 🇺🇸 P.S Heidi, my 2024 July summer solo vacation trip to London,England, was fabulous! I ❤ London, England 🇬🇧 Thank you for inviting me!!
Most enjoyable episode again Heidi and Bonny! We always look forward to it you are a breath of fresh air that can be a very nice vibe with all the bad stuff that goes on around the world! We look forward to the next episode Cheers the Cornish crew James and Shelly xx
Heidi that was such a pretty town, reminds me of Shakespeare. Your go to is my regular but I have soup with toast for lunch but I’m fussy about my soup, not out of a tin. Canal life is such a lovely life, I know it has its downfalls but it’s how you make it. What a wonderful meal, nice people. Found a fantastic mooring spot in Leigh, shame it’s only 48 hours. Great vlog Heidi, so very much love waking Friday and finding you waiting for me. OK love to you and Bonny. Oh your tiller pirate, LOL, still a work in progress. Take care. ❤️
All Phil’s have a big un 😜. That Sunday lunch looked amazing. We used to call Manchester Tart, Salford Slag 😂. Hope you’re keeping well hun and hope to see you soon xx
Hey Heidi and beautiful Bonny . Loved the vlog and shows how kind the boating people are. What a fantastic roast. Bonny looking really happy she living the dream. Have a fantastic weekend , take care ❤
Love watching you adventures. I feel like I am living the life on the canals as I watch. Thank you for explaining the different rules of the canals. Glenda Futch in Florida
Cut up veggies of all kinds, put them in the pan with oil or butter, soften them up a bit and then pour your eggs as in omelet over it and cook very low heat 🎉🎉🎉 variations are endless ❤❤
For a filling quick meal...probably more suited to a cold winters day cruising try this....take a tin of your preferred soup , I like golden veg or oxtail...also a bag of tilda cook in the foil bag rice..lime and coriander is good...mix together and heat slowly...when bubbling hot add a generous spoon full of aubergine pickle and enjoy .....it will blow your socks off...
That were mint that were or as they say down yer in the westcountry , twere gurt lush.😁 Thanks as always Heidi, safe onward travels and happy faffing for the week ahead.😊 Hope Sandra and Nicky are well and doing ok .😊
People after my own heart. One if my favorite rums is Coconut Malibu. Great stuff. I don't know if we have the strawberry variety. I'll have to look. Take care and God Bless to Yourself and Bonnie, Paul from Florida.
Hello heidi mick from Hull really enjoyed this Episode keep doing what you are doing hope you are both well and I will look forward to your next episode xx😊😊😊
Hey Heidi, you asked for easy recipes that you can do in bulk. You may already know of it but, one I love is chicken rice and sausage.... just boil some chicken (throw a couple of chicken bouillon cubes in the water). Then cut up some summer/smoked sausage links and cook it up in a skillet (I like to get a little bit of a sear on it with olive oil and butter). For the rice, I use the water I used to boil the chicken to cook the rice in to give it some extra flavor. Then just pull apart and/or cut up the chicken and mix it all up. As far as how much of each, I usually use about 1.5 cups of rice (uncooked) and 2-3 medium sized boneless chicken breasts and, as far as sausage, I use about 14 ounces. It easily makes enough for 2-3 meals for two people but it's easy to scale up or down to make as much as you want, and it keeps well in the frig. Thanks for another one. Take care.
Quick and easy microwave rice from Aldi 45p, loads of different flavours. I usually fry it in a pan then make a quick veggie curry with curry paste, condensed milk, a bit of water and whatever veg I've got in. Or you can just make rice and flop a fried egg on it 🍳👍🏼
When I bushcraft i have a fav recipe. Take 3inches of chiritzo sausage skin it cut it into 1/4 inch slices then halve the slices gently heat in a saucepan to release the oils. Chop up one onion add it cook till the onion is soft, then sprinkle some knor Aromat on, add risotto rice a cupped handful add water till it covers the rice and cook till the rice is done add some cheese 5 minutes before you take it off the heat the baby bell cheese is good broken up into 3 or 4 pieces but any cheese will do. One pan cooking no plating up man cookery class haha
First time seeing your videos and am struck by the high quality of the video itself (how clear it is), and you are so positive. I'm sure you appreciate the beautiful places you have over there on the canals, really lovely. Dublin.
Heidi, this is one of my favorite videos. The commentary, scenery and music were all outstanding. Thank you and stay safe in your journey. Ray from Illinois (USA).
Just love Thursdays’s. Great video again Heidi. Love Phil’s Lighthouse. Bonny is too cute and how well behaved she was with the other dog. The view of the canals you were on were BEAUTIFUL. Nothing like that here in Chicago USA. If you have a crock pot you can cook your dinner on low all day and it would be ready for you when you’re ready to eat. Google crock pot recipes for the kinds of foods you like and get recipes from that (just a suggestion)❤️🏴☠️
Hi Heidi I loved your vlog today you went past my Friend Maddog's (yes that's his crazy nickname) boat at 5.56 on your video so i was able to check out where he was. His is the green boat on the left under the tree. Your life is so great ambling along in beautiful places like that. Have a great week.👋👍
I so look forward to your video every week. That iron stained water looked like coffee or tea ☕. No wonder that moorings 48hr a stones throw from Aldi and a short stumble from the pub 😁. Lovely couple(&sister) they really spoiled you there, fantastic. Thanks for the vid Heidi.
Evening Heidi. I live alone and when I want a quick meal, I cook a helping of Paella. Frozen from Morrisons, and cooked in a frying pan. Quick and easy in 15 minutes.
Brilliant vlog Heidi. Thanks for letting us share your adventure. Love it that the community comes together for each other. Take care and stay safe. ATB to you and Bonnie. X
Great video Heidi so many nice people on the canal. You were saying about some nice Dinners we use parsley box very nice meals and you don't have to put them in the Freezer or fridge. They've got at least six month shelf life on them. Go no line and have a look and if you bey £40 or more it's free Delivery.have a great weekend 😊
I used to love making meatybeanfeast, pack of nice mince beef,an onion, tin of beans, tin of kidney beans, tin of butter beans all chucked n cooked in the same pan( beef fried off first of course)a full pan would last me at least four days, was fabulous with some chips or just a couple of slices of bread, phwoooar want to go n make some now 😜
Just watched Who's bright idea. Really enjoyed it, especially as I live near the Bridgewater at Eccles and lived facing the canal at Monton when there was no lighthouse. I'll be watching the rest of your videos. Good luck
love your videos, I'm a transplant from Davids's channel. I'm from the United States. My suggestion for cooking optional meals is anything you want. But purchase an electric crock pot. It changed my life as well changed the way I eat. get a cookbook for crock pots. its amazing. I get everything ready the nite before mostly because I'm not a morning person. I won't even talk to myself before my second cup of coffee. take what ever I've put in the fridge pop it in the crock pot turn it on low and forget it for about 7 or 8 hours. your options are endless. Thank you for sharing you in your videos..
Hi Heidi Firstl time ive text you, just had to say love your vlogs. Me and my husband came across you when searching youtube and had to go back and watch them all they, were great but, sadly now we have to wait a whloe week. As someone who suffers badly with anxiety I personally want to thank you, i dont go very far and hate busy places, but i now say what would Heidi say, its an adventure , you've even got me thinking about buying rum. We also adore dear little Bonnie, what great company she is and such a good girl, love seeing her riding on top of the boat. Sorry to waffle on but thanks for letting us share your journeys. Take care, look forward to seeing you next week. ❤
A wonderful view into your life. You and Bonnie are really cute together. The canal bridge over the river is a wonder. I did notice the canal color did have a different shade to it. Your videos are entertaining, but also educational. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us landlubbers next week. I will drink a rum to adventures.
