The best way to describe it is, that it feels as if I am a sponge, I have been soaking up every word you spoke. So then faith comes by hearing and hearing and understanding comes by the (the message of) the word of God. So the last shall be first, and the first shall be last, for many be called, but few are chosen. O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his mercy endures for ever.

FYI to anyone interested: Chavah is Eve as in Adam and Eve Antoninus referred to here was really Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus a contemporary of Rabbi Yehudah HaNassi (Judah the Prince). They knew each other from meeting in Teveriya (Tiberius) on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Apparently Marcus Aurelius was philosophically a student of the former Emperor Tiberius, for he dwelt in his house in Rome. So he visited the city named after him in Ancient Judea and met Rebbe Yehudah HaNassi where they became close friends. Also Goy usually means "Nation" as in Lo Yisa Goy el Goy Cherev (One Nation shall not lift up a Sword against another Nation. Nor will they learn War anymore. From Isaiah) The word Goy really is NOT a derogatory term. It means Nation or a person from one nation or another nation.

Yes God is Sovereign but He still gives us freedom to do our own will. We are not puppets on a string! We need to recognize the importance and significance of the choices we make in our lives daily. “Choose you this day whom you will serve”. Yes God has a plan but He leaves lots of room for each one of us to co-write the script. In other words, you can make a difference!

It could also be said that Rabbi Akiva and Yeshu are the gilgulim (reincarnations) of Ya'akov and Esav respectively. - "Akiva" ("עֲקִיבָא") and "Ya'akov" ("יַעֲקֹב") both come from the same root word - "heel" ("עֲקֵב"). - "Yeshua" ("ישוע") meanwhile shares the same exact letters as "Esav" ("עשיו"). One is considered among the greatest "Tsaddikim" of Yisrael, the other, one of the greatest "Reshaim" to ever exist. Xtians unknowingly continue to worship Esav - why else is Edom considered Xtianity? We Jews follow in the footsteps of our forefather, Ya'akov Avinu. History always repeats itself. There is nothing new under the sun. Am Yisrael Chai!

Does anyone know why R Anava refers to the זרע שמשון/Zera Shimshon/Rav Nahmani as much as he does?? I'm just curious if he has some reason why that particular sefer is what he focuses on almost every time I listen to his shiurim.
