Great game. Cam in that game reminds me of Charlie and the chocolate factory. Make it all the way through and then get told, "You get NOTHING, you lose!" at the end.
After you guys talked about Rocco on one of the podcast episodes and said "He makes every creature in your deck a companion" I have seriously re-evaluated him. He is like Green Sun's Zenith, or Chord of Calling, except a lot easier to return to hand and re-use. Great game!
Just gotta say since you guys upped the production quality your episodes just keep getting better and better with each release this episode was a treat. Also, WHEN DID YOU GUYS START SELLING TYE DYE SHIRTS?! I NEED ONE!
You guys talked about Tale's End not being very notable in your Counters episode, but for the combination of stopping Channel effects AND Legends... maybe it's worth reconsideration?
Begs the question of versitility over efficiency when compared to stifle. Also, is Tales End better than Defabricate? Feels like a meta call. The fact that Defab puts countered targets in exile ain't nothing.
@@skyguytomas9615 Tale's end allows you to counter legendary stuff, which in commander is ALWAYS relevant. Being able to counter thOracle, Boseiju or najeela with a single card is a good thing imho. But tbh I also play trickbind, because letting a forbidden tutor resolve and then countering the trigger of thOracle has become my guilty pleasure.
This is a small thing, but I heavily question the jeweled lotus in a Kess deck. You don’t need to power your commander out, and due to her cost, it can only pay for 2 pips. It has little other synergy. You’re generally casting Kess after a failed win attempt, and by then you have the mana anyway. Channel is, in my opinion, a powerful addition to cEDH. A card that is both a pseudo-uncounterable piece of interaction and a land is insane flexibility.
@@raedien Except that mana can only be used to cast Kess, and you still need a minimum of 2 mana of two other colors to even use it. More mana if you, somehow, have commander tax. In my opinion, it would be better to have more protection or interaction in that slot. Probably a 1 mana counterspell.
@An Innocent Bystander it's also +1 Storm Count for 0 mana. I'm not saying it's the best use of the slot but it's inclusion is not a surprise alongside Ad Naus.
That game was fucking awesome- the intro was really cool I love huge stacks and that was crazy as hell Such a fast and intense game! Shouts out to the 420 Billion treasures hahah Also "can you smell what the Rocc is cookin"?? This episode has it all!
Dylan going "aw man just couldn't get around that Boseiju" like he was sorry for Cam at the end when you know he's just so happy he got to stop him at the most critical time 🤣
My favorite 3 color is Korvold, I run a weird treasure focused build that can pull out the win on turn 4 if I’m lucky, it’s just tough in the counter wars since yknow… no blue
Casual player here: I've never faced Elsha or Rocco, but both Kess and Tivit have destroyed me in different circumstances. Tivit + blink effects is just brutal (meanwhile Kess was just a Demonic-Thoracle deck while my primary deck had no stack interaction due to being G/B).
8:06, unlucky and I'm not clear how much mana you had up, but if you had enough to cast Kess and still had at least UUB then could you have just nammed Thorracle there? Ostensibly your opponents used all their counter magic stopping Dark ritual. Also in any case, with Breach out, couldn't you still cast Dark ritual etc. from the yard when Boseiju trigger was on the stack? Insane turn nonetheless.
wonder if Korvold or Prossh can get in on the next three color commander action. Maybe even do an episode where every deck is a food chain deck. That would be neat.
I think with the "Channel" lands making the list[s], shouldn't "Stifle" and/or "Tale's End" make the cuts? They can even stop Dockside ETB's as well. You guys have the potential to influence the format by including these effects to showcase their abilities to back up "Underworld Breach" lines and even give us some numbers/statistics to see if they (Stifle affects) actually do the work or are even worth it. Love you guys and all the work you've been doing, been watching you all since your 2nd video and am always hungry for more.
you know, I completely support what y'all are doing, but WHY COULDN'T YOU LET DYLAN PLAY KESS!? As a kess main, this hurts my heart, but still great video
when swords was cast on dockside, could Cam have copied chain of vapour and targeted dockside again? I haven't played magic in a while and I'm not sure about the rules
