Here in Bavaria we still do that. We have wine princesses and queens that represent the wine industry, open events and such things. The have to answer questions in a competition and most of them work in the wine making business.

In der Pfalz machen wir das auch. Aber die Pfalz gehörte ja mal zu Bayern, wird wohl kein Zufall sein.

@@ericschach7653 That's the thing about the Germanic languages when written...You can almost parse out the general idea. "In the land of ____, we also do it like ___ which is obviously related." But when it's spoken, it's anyone's guess. "Flugabwehrkanonenpanzer Gepard"😁

Just in case anyone wants to know: A centrifuge is a device that uses centrifugal force to separate various components of a fluid. This is achieved by spinning the fluid at high speed within a container, thereby separating fluids of different densities (e.g. cream from milk) or liquids from solids.

Slight correction: The often-quoted "centrifugal force" doesn't actually exist. It's the rotating object's inertia that gives us the idea of a force, but calling it one is patently false.

@@jamesramplin8124 everyone is welcome to their opinion. I find her to be a hideous sexist, with a fairly limited range, obsessed with sexuality and gender. It’s a shame because she is undoubtably witty and intelligent. I don’t enjoy watching her much. Went downhill a lot since Stephen left.
