Rupp grew up in MN - he has probably been dealing cribbage, whist, and pinochle since he could shuffle a deck. Austin was the poker 'specialist' during his college days.
This was filmed during the early stages of the pandemic, shortly after the death of Kenny Rogers. I thought they did a good job of creating the feel of a brotherly/friendly poker game at one table, despite being in five different locations. #HomeFree #WARRP As always, the arrangement is from Darren Rust, who they call the 6th member of Home Free. If you don't see a credit for another arranger, he has done it.
Darren is in several of their videos. He's such a great guy with huge talent for what he does. He's also in an acapella group called "The Blenders" & they're very good! Darren is an amazing singer. ❤❤
This was done as a tribute to Kenny Rogers with whom they'd collaborated on "Children Go Where I Send Thee". It was video taped separately during the Covid lockdowns. They put so much ingenuity into keeping content going during the lockdowns! They also paid tribute to Harold Reid of the Statler Brothers in their video of "Flowers on the Wall".
This was a very well done tribute to Kenny Rogers the guys did awesome especially since they were in five different locations and I do remember seeing it on the muppets as always loved your reactions

Chance is amazing in this but the others are who got to sing with Kenny, when Chris was still part of the group. Since this was a tribute to him, it makes sense they all took part. Also as the tenor of Oakridge Boys, past this last week.. I expect we may see a tribute to them soon. Have a great Birthday Neo. Great job guys.

Ogre, I tend to agree with you on wishing Chance would have had lead throughout being his voice is similar to Kenny’s with that rasp. You guys crack me up! This was a great reaction! I think Home Free paid a wonderful homage to Kenny and think Kenny would be proud! This was done on the edge of the pandemic. They all recorded this at their own homes.
I didn't remember ever seeing The Gambler on the Muppet show so I paused to bring up a new tab and check it out. Turns out I'd never seen it before, so thanks for the heads up, guys. Strange timing since I heard from Home Free just yesterday of the passing of The Oak Ridge Boys' Joe Bonsall. Two performers who left a memorable legacy behind.
They will never be Kenny but these guys are amazing! I think they did a great job but also agreecI think Chance should have been the main for this one!
