@@july1470 there's a line that comes later in the episode where Armand mentions that Claudia has her thoughts heavily guarded whereas Louis doesn't, and Santiago, book-wise, he had the strong ability to read less guarded minds (Louis). The whole scene with the Theater Coven is all one big hint that they know Claudia and Louis are lying, but drawing it out, at least Santiago is, setting up for what will eventually come. Edited to add: Santiago suspects or knows they are lying, but how things will play out in the series may differ from the book and original movie, but will probably reach the same outcome.

Because it was revealed to Daniel that Lestat had been the cofounder of the theater, was an ex-lover of Armand, and all after Louie and Claudia had just killed him. The timing and twist is reminiscent of how Telenovellas would go 😅
