I speak Tagalog (filipino) so we have a lot of spanish loan words. Whenever we see spanish and try to speak it we have the accent cause of the Spanish teaching us.

You Pinoys DON'T speak the language. You just borrowed some words. If you really had learned the language, 300 years would've be more than enough to still speak it today, just like Puerto Rico does. Here's my take (not hating): 1. Philippines (Live) - Excellent pronunciation and enunciation in Spanish, perfect voice quality and tempo to match the original music. 2. Switzerland (Auto Tune) - Perfect pronunciation, but slower in tempo compared to the original. 3. South Korea (Auto Tune) - Poor enunciation of R/L letters, very common among Koreans. 4. Indonesia (Auto Tune) - Heavy accents in some Spanish words.

well back in the colonial period. only the rich people who of course can afford to have proper education can speak spanish. there were only VERY FEW of them. so in general, it can not be considered as a spanish-speaking country. aside from that, the spanish colonial government at that time were afraid that filipinos will be accustomed to the spanish way of life. they didn't want filipinos to have the same priviledges like what fully pledged spanish citizens had. our ancestors were treated as second-rate colonials. that's why they were called "indios". which was a discriminatory title for social status.
