Crazy!!!!!!! It's been 15 years since Luciano is gone but his voice will remain with us for eternity. A voice that made him the greatest, most immense, immeasurable, good in nature and character gave an example of behavior and professionalism that had no equal. Great Luciano, those who don't know you call you Pavarotti but for us you are Luciano. The greatest voice. Thanks for existing.

Jose Carreras and Plácido Domingo together with Luciano Pavarotti together were known as the great three tenors of the 1990ies. They not only respected each other, but even did concerts and tours together. The nessun dorma video of Luciano you reacted to earlier was from one of these concerts.

Yes, Andrea Bocelli is blind. Try checking out some of his other music... he's incredible! You can watch how he went from an insecure, shy performer with an incredible voice back when he first came to light, to a confident, sweet man that has a strong presence about him. And, he can sing anything, from all genres. I think you'll fall in love.

Aretha filled in for Luciano Pavarotti at the last minute. He was due to perform but was ill. I was hoping they were going to add her to this compilation! Deanna Durbin was an actress who sang and was popular around the time Cinderella came out. Luciano was incomparable and used every last breath in his body to hold those notes and it shows. All of them are great singers!

He's not an opera singer but had a year of training when he was young and when Adam Lambert and Queen were doing a concert in Italy last summer in the middle of their concert Adam Lambert sang Nessun Dorma for the Italian audience. He's gotten really great reviews from vocal music coaches.

Bel Canto, an Italian method of singing that focuses on free, unforced sound known for its balance, beauty and seamlessness of tones. Free sound happens when the breath is perfectly coordinated with the muscles that control it...people that master it can sing until their late late years...its the correct way of singing..your audio levels are great now, thanks for the reaction, love watching all you do.

You have to watch The three tenors singing O Sole Mio together, competing. It was at the end of the first great consert they did together. They had not planned for an encore and just picked the first song they thought of, that everybody knows and just winged it. So fun to watch.

I have a story about Andrea Bocelli! He was hired as a demonstrator, singing an aria the record company wanted someone else to sing, that someone being Pavarotti. Pavarotti listened to the demo disk and sent it back to the record company with a letter, "You don't need me, you have him". And Bocelli became a star. Yes, he is blind.

My father’s favourite story of world war 2 was telling that when he was stationed outside Milan, he and a few others snuck out 1 night to hear Beniamino Gigli sing at La Scala. They were caught by their commanding officer. Fortunately, he was also an opera fan and let them off!

Not even close for me. Nessun Dorma is one of the greatest arias ever and Pavarotti's 1994 performance is probably the greatest operatic performance of all time. The sheer relief on his face at the end, he knew he'd absolutely killed it and he was right.

It is always difficult to make comparison choices between individuals and across eras. However, I think Pavarotti is the best, in respect the quality and emotion in his performance and his ability to deliver that across such an extended time period. My personal favourite though is the three tenors, for the power of the delivery and the fact that, to my knowledge, there has never been a recording of the three premier tenors of their era performing together.

This is from the opera Turandot. The character singing is in love with a princess, but he has to answer her 3 riddles to win her hand in marriage or get beheaded. The song is him talking to himself about how he is going to win the woman he loves. My Italian Nona (Grandmother) told me this

For me, all are the best in their way of performing. Yes, their were a few that went and took it to another level. I personally chose Mario Lanza as THE above standard. Rightfully so, because it has been said that Pavarotti himself also picked Lanza as a favored tenor. Mario was an American Italian from Philadelphia, PA USA, i believe, who passed away at the young age of 38. In any case, all who performed this song had a special talent. It's not easy at all. Kudos to anyone that can belt, sustain the melody, and notes of this song. 👏🏼

Check out Romanian-American singer Laura Bretan's Nessun Dorma from her Craiova concert in Romania in April 2019, when she had just turned 17. Laura is remembered in the states mostly for her Nessun Dorma as a 13-year-old on AGT, but she's gone on now at 20 to be successful as a singer around Europe and some inthe States. All singers give a great rendition of the climax, but I would have to say that most sing it like shifting gears in a stick driven car with a slight hesitation, where as the MASTER Luciano is a finely tuned high end Automatic vehicle with NO hesitation in vocal changes !!!

They are almost all amazing, or they are, but there are a couple versions that don't have the incredible quality as the rest. The way Pavarotti holds on the notes for soooo long its impossible, it cant be repeated or attempted. There are a lot of old italians that do it beautifully, Aretha was amazing too, Monica as well.

There is one more that have a version special enough to make it worth listening to, and that is the Swedish tenor Fredrik Kempe. He will not be remembered as one of the greatest tenors ever lived, but he is doing something at the very end of the song, that I have not heard anybody else do. Andrea Bocelli is blind. Sarah Brightman was married to Andrew Lloyd Weber. The part of Christina in Phantom of the Opera was written for her. Paul Potts was the BGT winner who auditioned with this. The thing about Aretha Franklin's performance is she was asked to step in for Luciano Pavarotti, who had to back out of performing the song on The Grammy Awards show (in '98, I believe). The orchestra was set to go, but Pavarotti phoned in that he could not perform due to a throat issue. Aretha was there to accept an award, and was asked backstage if she could step in for Pavarotti because she had just performed Nessun Dorma at another show in town that week. But Luciano's orchestra was going to play it in HIS key, NOT HERS!!! Against the advice of her handlers, she agreed to do it anyway...literally on a moment's notice. It's worth seeing the whole damn thing. It is absolutely my favorite version of this song, and perhaps my favorite Aretha performance. An unforgettable moment when Aretha saved The Grammy Awards show...without ever rehearsing with the orchestra with which she sang the song on network television. Andrea was born sighted, but was diagnosed at 5 months old with congenital glaucoma. In and out of hospitals for surgeries and treatment most of his youngest years, the doctors managed to save 10% sight in one eye. However, when he was 12 and playing soccer at his school for the blind, he was struck in the face by a kicked ball and lost that little remaining sight he had. My vote is Pavarotti #1 and Andrea Bocelli # 2 although I love Andrea.
