If I’m Monti and these Cardinals…I am loving this right now. I’d do everything I can to play these teams off of each other and drive up that price. You could land yourself a record haul for that #4 pick…and really strengthen your organization big time like the Dolphins did when they made that trade with the Niners a few years back.
The temptation has to be really strong to just snag Marvin Harrison Jr. or Malik Nabers and give Kyler Murray the #1 receiver he’s going to need to be successful…I would love it for Kyler. But the more I’ve thought about it…this is a deep receiver class too and this team isn’t just one player away. I think you HAVE TO make a move down if you’re Arizona. The Vikings especially are in a pretty desperate spot…use that to your advantage, start a bidding war, and set yourselves up for a haul. And if the Giants rumblings are actually legit, you can make a smaller move down to 6…pick up an extra 1st…AND still get one of the top 2 receivers. The way Monti handles this situation in year 2 as GM could end up defining this Cardinals team for years to come and I’m excited to see how it all plays out.
