Ash litterary sweeped Wallace offscreen in Pokemon journeys and he even called his battle with him "training" lol so I rather have Steven in masters 8 rather than Wallace
He’s always saying some weird things that never make sense lol, I’ve stopped listening to his crackpot opinions. He also thinks Leon shouldn’t be number 1 when the season revolves around Leon being the super champ? Ridiculous. Also, saying Iris didn’t defeat Alder? Of course she did, that’s how she got her spot. I don’t think Iris deserves to be there, but saying she didn’t beat Alder is stupid. Saying Wallace is interchangeable with Steven is hilarious at best, and Ash mopped the floor with him off screen, something he’s not gonna do with Steven. And then wanting KAREN to be in the top 8? When she has no credible anime showings?! He’s on the drugs
@TwinkerDoodle that logic is awful. Steven and Cynthia (who is shown to be a powerhouse through multiple series) also have their own life’s outside of battling
@@sageedits3165So...Steven explores fossils and runs an entire company , Cynthia explores legends, myths, and ruin. Just because they chapions doesn't mean they can't have a side job. You could argue steven and Cynthia should be doing their jobs too. Acting can freaking wait, it's not that important especially if she says no to a movie
I’m not vibing with the Diantha disrespect. Were X&Y notoriously easy games? Yes. But Diantha is still Kalos’ champion. To me this shows that the champions in anime canon are the definitive strongest trainers in the region, even stronger than post game bosses like frontier brains. The only one I think could be replaced is switching out Alain with Wallace, and that’s only because Hoen has always shown a balance between land and sea which is symbolized in its duel champions of Wallace( sea) and Steven(land)
@@jeremypierreakajproject6750 doesn't always need to be proof of how they got champion... its literally set in stone she is the champion, Alain is the only one there who isn't a champion

I could argue that mustard and alder are too old for traveling all the time and decided to retire. I mean, if you took the games as an example, mostard was literally retired, he decided to run a dojo, a place where he teaches other trainers instead of battling all the time. And alder, in the games, wasn't exactly having much fun as he already had since his pokepartner died so, whem iris defeated him, he was actually happy by this, and could retire knowing someone just as strong as him took his place
mustard retired because he was asked to throw a match or was he asked to win a rigged match? i cant remember but its on one of his trainer cards, so leon likely got to number 1 by winning rigged matches
I mean this entire list is just completely biased and he doesn’t take into account that the master 8 are comprised of THE STRONGEST trainers, not the ones who have potential to become one of the strongest or the ones who used to be the strongest. There’s a reason why some of the mentors of the strongest trainers, like Mustard and Alder, are not in the masters and that’s because Leon and Iris both have surpassed their mentors and previous champions. So saying that someone else should be replaced in this current Masters 8 are only just biased remarks.
Except for Alain.. tbh sure he had his whole journey and everything, but like he still lost to Diantha. I really think it’s just fan service/bias that Alain was chosen, because there’s really not much real showing that he’s stronger than all these other trainers of other regions.
it is completely stupid to talk about Diantha like that. She's probably one of the ONLY ones that SHOULD be justified at that place. Dude's only logic was complaining about xy's difficulty as a game OVERALL which has NOTHING to with the anime. Then he brings up alain as the replacement, Dianthia LITERALLY is the champion of Kalos, and has shown MANY occasions to be leagues above ash/alain. I much as I love Alain, he should be the one hard to justify instead of Diantha.
All his choices are based on the games. From the anime there are good choices like Brandon, Tobias or Drake. In the case for Kanto, Brandon can be a candidate since he's the head of Battle Frontier of the Kanto Region.
The masters 8 is honestly perfect the way it is. It would be so weird to have the eight strongest trainers in the world NOT be the league champions of each region. Having Alder and Wallace there would be a total upset plot-wise, and not having the reigning champion of Kalos but having the Lumiose conference winner there wouldn’t make a lot of sense.
@@georgesantiago1101 Would be weird to introduce a new character that would spoil one of the biggest plot points of a highly anticipated and unreleased game. Honestly, I'd be fine with any other character to replace Alain as long as they were a League champion or conference winner.
This list was EXTREMELY biased lmao. U're ok to have 2 Galar Representatives but are saying that adding 2 Kalos ones is Wrong. Not to mention, u're scaling Diantha off of Games. In the Anime, she is a Pretty strong trainer so calling her weak is BS. Also, it makes sense to have the Running Champions instead of the formers since the Masters 8 comprises of the Strongest Trainers of each region.
To me Alder and Mustard don't need to be there. They're both retired and their pupils are in this tournament. So their legacies live on through Leon and Iris.
I don't get Mystic's logic. He doesn't want 2 Kalos representatives like Alain and Diantha, but is okay with having 2 Galar representatives like Leon and Mustard. Although Mustard's wife Honey would be more of a surprise to be in the Masters 8
Might as well trade Diantha or Alain with Tobias. A real powerhouse. Leon would sht his pants, Ash would snap and would call out all his strong pokemon.
I gotta disagree heavily. The participants they have now are perfect. Your picks would make more sense if this wasn't a tournament full champions, you wanna add beaten champions, elite Four members, gym leaders. Diathia was never beaten by Alain so she needs to be there to represent Kalos. Adding Mustard would be so random, we don't need wisdom we need champions at their peak. Alder gets wrecked if Iris sets up stealth rock so no I don't wanna see Alder, again peak champions plus Alder's character was more annoying than Iris. Wallace has never been better than Steven, there is a reason why he got dunked on and demoted to gym leader.. Not even elite 4. Nice video, if it was to make me say out loud "wtf" then congrats. 👏👍
Leon WASN'T immediately the strongest in the world when he was introduced. He was introduced in the finals of the previous Masters 8 tournament. Him and Lance were the two finalists in that tournament, and Leon beat him, giving him the title of strongest.
@@rdm9991 according to the rules you can only pick one of mega, z crystals or dynamax. I know in the games you can have a team with all of it but not in the anime.
Yeah I agree. Considering that he was the Champion of Hoenn is the more recent stories of the anime. It is basically now stated how between Sinnoh and Kalos. Steven became the new champion; so he would be more powerful. Plus considering the one gimmick per match rule (besides against Leon, but that was Leon wanting a full challenge) it makes more sense to have a Meta Metagross, than a Dynamaxed Milotic
One character who 100% should be in the top 8 is Tobias. He demolished the Sinnoh league, only struggling slightly with Ash. We need to see him be defeated and to see the rest of his cracked team.
@@Phyrrus even if you win the league that doesnt mean that you have to fight the champion,he could have simply refused to battle the elite 4 and cynthia.
@@PEEshooter-pr3sq well technically yea but if they really fought i doubt alain would have lost, ash's greninja almost defeated diantha's mega gardevoir,if it werent for the time limit then diantha would have lost, and alain's better than than ash,his mega charizard would have destroyed all of diantha's team considering that his charizard defeated 10 mega pokemons(he even demolished a elite 4 mega pokemon even when his charizard is weakened)in a row and is capable of fighting stronger legendaries. As for tobias, even tho he won the league he probably just refused to fight the E4 and the champion, even more so with alain because the only reason he joined the league was to battle ash anyways.
Wallace shouldn’t be here though, since he’s much more of a Contest guy in the anime, especially since the Wallace Cup exists, and also Lance vs. Diantha was a great battle between power vs. strategy, and Iris vs. Cynthia was great cause it showed why Iris wanted to become champion, and great interactions between Iris and Cynthia
The anime is not the same as the games. When introducing the Masters Eight, the announcer said that Diantha's battling skillings are just as good as her acting skills.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Tobias, not only does Ash need a rematch, but it would also be interesting to learn about the guy that took away Ash's victory in Sinnoh.
@@andrewengelman3544 Tobias won the Sinnoh League, meaning he likely took on the Elite Four and Cynthia, and lost along the way, likely to Cynthia, because Cynthia is still Champion after the Diamond and Pearl anime.
@@jameshardy3181 What makes you think it's likely Tobias took on the Elite 4 and Cynthia? If you're going by that logic wouldn't it be just as likely that Alain took on the Kalos Elite 4 and Diantha and lost because Diantha is still the Champion in Kalos? I don't think they've ever shown the winner of a league taking on the champion afterward.
Let just say that Iris being able to speedrun to Master 8 before Ash should be enough to prove that she is worthy of being one of the best 8 trainers in the world.
Mustard could still be an important side character for the tournament. I can see Ash and Co running into him attending the event and he can give Ash insight on how to be the one to finally beat Leon
Mustard isnt there cause it wouldnt really make sense story wise and we havent even seen him once yet Alder isnt a champion anymore so why is he even trying The people that are in the Pwt i am fine with Ash is gonna battle the top 3, 2 and 1 trainer in it And we dont need another old rivalry to pop up in the most important tournament because their battle would easily overshadow the whole tournament cause you know XYZ fans if you wanna watch that then watch xyz Leon and alain are against each other to show how strong Leon really is by taking out ashs strongest rival also he doesnt even use gmax charizard in that battle

your argument about Alder, is that he might have retired and therefore lost his title to Iris? But why would he compete in the tournament then? Which requires you to battle a lot? Makes no sense Same goes with Mustard lol. And how would he be a good character? We've never even seen him. Lance is more of a Johto guy for me, even his ace pokemon is from Johto. And Kanto and Johto is basically the same place. I think the Master's 8 is great, if I should remove someone, then it would be Alain. But again, I don't think he's bad choice by any means
I have to heavily disagree with the whole video. Diantha definitely deserves her spot light, especially more than Alan. She's one strong trainer in the series, especially with the mega gardevoir that she has. Wallice is a fucking joke. Don't even get me started. I would definitely kick Lance out. I find him to be overhyped. Iris is anyday better both characterwise and in her choice of dragon Pokemon. Who cares about mustard lol? And Alder. He was an douche that pissed me off so much in XY. It's all about who is the best of the best right now rather than "Suitable representations" it's a damn heavy tournament in the end of the day where people are fighting for a title.
i would add Giovany, it would be awesome just because it would show why team rocket is feared and why he is leader of team rocket. It would get vibe that in not all of them are heroes. It would be great representation for johto and kanto. And we would see all of his pokemons, not only persian.
If Alain is brought back soly to lose, thats kind of a bummer. If they want someone to job, and show Leon's strength, I woulda picked Tobias. If Leon swept a team of legends it would place him firmly as number one (at least for the time being).
@@dash3lee I get that, but still, showing Tobias get stomped would set Leon up as OP, and it would've been cool to see them bring someone like him back. Much better than using Alain as a jobber.
Diantha is much better Kalos representation than Alain since she is an actual champion and Alain is only there to get destroyed by Leon. I say just replace Alain with Karen or Alder and you're good.
@@ot12stan61 he got significantly stronger, its like saying Ash is weak because he lost 3-0 to Flint, back in Sinnoh, lol. Anyways, it doesn't matter, he was portrayed to be fodder. Also, we'd have to see Diantha's performance against Leon, to compare her to Alain.
For Kanto it could be Brandon, the head of the Pyramid and Battle Frontier of Kanto. Another candidate could be Drake, champion of the Orange Islands. Another missed mention should be Tobias, who swept the Sinnoh region and almost the entire Pokemon League only using his Darkrai
Its not just about power, I think a cool part about the selection here is their connection to Ash and to the viewer. It’s awesome that Iris is here. In terms of strength, we haven’t seen most of these characters in a long time. So the anime can make them as strong as they need to be for the scenario. Nobody is going to get hyped seeing Alder (someone we barely care about) pull up to the battle. However, additions like Iris and Alain bring in the nostalgia and remind us how far we’ve come over the years. And it also shows the impact Ash has had on the people he’s met and that they have continued to grow to great heights after their adventures with him. I think seeing their growth for hundreds of episodes is more deserving of a spot than “this champion is here because we said he was strong 400 episodes ago”
only one i really agree with is Karen replacing Alain, Satoshi isnt fighting him so bringing him back was pointless and Karen is someone we've never seen in the anime before. Diantha is awesome, screw the haters. i could take or leave Iris and Steven must stay, emerald replacing him with Wallace was stupid.
I would've preferred it if they gave Alain's spot to anybody else if all they were going to do is use him for the jobbing trope you see sometimes in tournament arcs which is pointless here since we already know that Leon is strong and it's confirmed that you're not getting Mega Zard-X Vs. Gigantamax Zard, so what's the point, you know?
I'm fine with Diantha being there so i'd rather have Allain out and maybe just have a special episode with him and ash battle as part of training for the masters.. just like you mentioned for Wallace, i think Diantha needs screen time because i don't think she got enough screen time to prove her being the champion of Kalos.
Could tell you reached REALLY hard with this video. Like its a stretch to even consider half of these over the current picks. Heres the like and comment you worked so hard for though.
The only one I agree with is Alain. All others are perfect in their place and diantha and iris justified their place so so well. Iris took Cynthia to her limit without a gimmick. Diantha destroyed lance and had extremely good strategies which shows how good of a battle tactetian she is. Mystic done BS on this video ngl
I agree with most of these except Diantha. Firstly, this is the anime, not the games so I don’t care if she’s a push over in XY. And let’s be honest every trainer in XY is a push over. Personally, I think she deserves to be there: If we assume that Alain challenged the kalos league after he won the lumiose conference then he must of lost considering he is not champion of Kalos. As a result, he either lost to an elite 4 member or Diantha herself. Either way she must be stronger than Alain. In addition, I believe her telepathic bond with her Guardevoir is very unique and should make for an entertaining battle. Although, despite not playing the Sword/Shield games I do believe that Mustard would be an interesting character in the Master’s 8 and learning of Leon’s backstory. However I believe he should be in the master’s 8 instead of Iris or Alain (since he is not battling Ash).
@@maciejwucow1563 people have been doing that for years and I don't know how they don't see how stupid it is For example: "why does Ash not evolve his Pokemon" cause this isn't a game, you can't evolve your pokemon unless it's via item"
I haven't seen a source but I saw someone mention Alain became Grand Duke of Kalos, Diantha was the reigning Grand Duchess, so that would imply Alain defeated Diantha at least once, but Diantha is ranked above him here, which implies she beat him at some point as well
I think the final 8 is the wrong place to introduce new (to the anime) characters. So really the ONLY contenders for a spot are Alder and Wallace. I can see an argument for Alder over either Alain or Iris, but I'm fine with them over him as well. As for Wallace, I'd say Alain and Steven are both better picks then the weakest champion the games have ever had. This just isn't the place for a type specialist (Iris and Lance having several non dragons. Steven has more then one type specialty.) I don't see a legit argument for ANYONE over the official champions. So I'll say Alder would have been fine, but not really any better or worse than the actual picks. And nobody else makes the cut.
What should be in the Masters 8 is all the champion themes from the games plus a custom for Ash and Alain. This is the champion league so it isn't a bad idea plus they used Lance/Red's theme in the DP series.
I believe Wallace has been referenced in the anime as one the greatest Water Pokémon trainers in the world (even has a Tournament named after him in the Sinnoh region). But I still appreciate Steven way more.
5:15 well, if you remember in the Pokemon Emerald game, the true final boss after you take down the Elite Four and Wallace is Steven, Wallace is just a replacement for Steven while he's digging in Meteor Falls, I mean if you look at it his team absolutely destroys Wallace's team. Everything else I agree with so far.
Why do people still think that Greyninja can defeat MCX. Can Greyninja fight with a Champion's Ace who doesn't hold back ? NO Can Greyninja defeat 10 Mega Evolved Pokemons including an Elite 4's Ace ? NO Can Greninja survive Mega Rayquaza's not full powered Dragon Ascent ? NO Can Greyninja surive Primal Groudon's Precipice Blades ? NO Can Greyninja fight toe-to-toe with Zygarde(50%) ? NO That's what Greyninja Fans need to understand
So, you’re not going to talk about Tobias? He has two legendary and we barely know anything about him. Journeys could’ve elaborated on how he managed to obtain Darkrai and Latios. Tobias could easily replace Diantha, Alain, or Iris as he should be stronger than any one of those three.
Tobias isn’t exactly a fan favorite, mainly because of how scummy that win in sinnoh was and how they essentially just used him to spam legendaries and keep ash from winning
Off topic but just a thought I wanted to share: I really wanted to see Ash battle Richie again in Pokémon Journeys. Since they tend to have similar battle styles and teams, and the last time they battled was in the round of 16 for the indigo league it could have been a really cool final battle for Ash to qualify for Masters 8.
You need to have some respect for the champions. And their strength in the games does not equate to their strength in the anime, which has been shown multiple times.
Alain and Iris could be swapped, but not for two retired trainers. I wish Alain had more of showing, but Iris got a lot of screen time like you said, so that would’ve been cool. Diantha and Steven in lure pretty much have to be there. They got those absolutely right. I like Karen being in though. Would’ve been a cool spin.
To each their own opinion diantha and Iris are my two favorite champions Iris has always been strong and I’m excited that she worked her way up to we’re she is and I think diantha has some bad representation from both anime and games and this would be the perfect time to fix those flaws. Also I noticed that you would have wanted to not only get rid of diantha but at the end Alian as well. And if that’s the case who should have represented Kalos then?
Iris and Cynthia battling was a long time coming since the BW anime plus having one of Ash's companion make it to the masters 8 is cool Not to mention from the games and how we've seen her grown I'm the anime Yeah she is stronger than Alder, she deserves her spot
@@Ori385 It does. Have you seen the hints towards alder in gen9? There is litterly a portrait of him in one of the tents, and not of an ancestor. Like actually the alder
I agree with Alder being in the top 8 also I miss the old 6on 6 intense battles Hope the final fight with Leon will be a 6on 6 and hopefully Ash brings his old Pokemon
Honestly surprised Tobias wasn't mentioned, since he's one of the few character's you could make the argument to include and would have made for a good addition.
I Feel like the only person that should be replaced is Alain. Replacing him with Karen would make sense to me as well, since their are champions representing the other 7 regions. With this being Generation 8 and their being a Masters 8 Tournament, that would of just made sense. She could of had Mega Tyranitar, Umbreon, Honchcrow, Weavile, Houndoom, and another Gen 2 pokemon as her sixth pokemon that could counter fighting types (Crobat, Espeon, or Misdreavous/Mismagious).
I agree with Johto representation, but I don't think it needs to be Karen. My choice for a previously-unknown Johto champion would be either Jimmy (the boy with the Typhlosion from Pokemon Chronicles) or go for a real twist and reveal Casey (the girl with the Chikorita who liked baseball) eventually became champion.
@@andrewengelman3544 Not a bad idea either. I wouldn't be against those choices. I just picked Karen since she was the final Elite 4 member in Johto, similar to how Lance was the final elite 4 member for Kanto. But those could be decent choices too, especially Jimmy.
Iris’ beginning story doesn’t make sense without this. The reveal that she became champion only to be stuck in ultra ball rank would be a waste. Instead, it’s cool to see her grind her way past satoshi snd make it to the 7th rank before he even gets into the final 8
I think the thing with Johto is, there's technically no Johto league. The league is still in Kanto, there's just an entrance to it in Johto, but it's on the Kanto map. I think this was because Gold and Silver were meant to be the last Pokémon games, and they operated under the notion that you could only have one Pokémon champion period, and it makes sense: at the time, the Pokémon world was just those two regions, and they were connected to each other. Gen 3 introduced the idea that there could be multiple champions from multiple regions. So, technically, Karen would be a Kanto rep, but I see what you mean: she originates from a Johto league. But even still, I'm fine with two trainers repping Kanto, because each of them also reps another region. • Ash Ketchum, repping both Kanto and Alola • Lance, repping both Kanto and Johto
Looking back on this after watching the Masters 8 tournament, this didn’t age well. I think Diantha showed her ability as champion in her battle with Lance and Iris had a great battle against Cythina’s Mega Garchomp. I wouldn’t have mind Mustard if the Journey’s writers were smart enough to put him in. For Alan, they basically just said that Ash-Greninja doesn’t exist. Ash beat Wallace off screen. Honestly my thoughts of the Masters 8 was pretty much what were the writers thinking
Hmmm...2/5 Agree about Steven and SURPRISINGLY ALSO Alain (Bringing past Ash Mons to The Masters8 INCLUDING Greninja isn't happening AND Ash isn't even battling him cause he's being sacrificed to Leon) BUT HIGHLY DISAGREE about Diantha, Iris, and Lance >:(
i completely disagree, mustard is too old and i’m pretty sure that he would just want to focus on his dojo more than winning number one. Alder passed down his duties to Iris because she deserves it so she should stay. I would prefer steven more than wallace but i think either could work. I saw another video about Alain and i agree with the video saying that Alain is there to show how much tougher the top eight are going to be. If Ash sees the guy he has never beaten before loses in the first round, he will understand to step up his game even much more. I agree that Lance should be replaced but I don’t think an elite four who supposedly is weaker than the champion be in the top 8. it’s hard to think of someone from Johto to represent but i also don’t really think that each champion is supposed to represent their region, it’s a tournament to see who is the best from the whole world so whoever can be in the top 8, it just happens to be all champions.
I'd still choose to swap Lance with Karen. Lance looses to much as a supposed Champion. In the games he only became champion bcus Red was MIA. Idk what the reason of him becoming champion in Johto was but he clearly didn't deserve it. Not saying he's weak but not consistent
I see what you mean but Karen would be, I think, the only one who didn’t appear in the show. And that would cause some disconnection to be able enjoy the battles to the fullest. I would find it harder to enjoy the battle if it wasn’t a champion nor a person we haven’t seen in the anime. Even though the battle between Alain and Leon was pretty dumb, I still have high hopes for the other battles.
@@kaimobley5324 and why does Karen deserve to be the champion? 😂 She's weaker than Lance, hence the reason why she's an E4 member, and Lance is the champion. Lance became champion, not just because Red left, but also because he was obviously stronger than the others. Wanna know something else? Karen probably doesn't even exist in the anime. 🤣 1. She hasn't been introduced. 2. Lance *is* an E4 member (in the anime), meaning that the Indigo E4, in the anime, is most likely based on the Kanto games (in which Karen wasn't an E4), not the Johto ones.
Can't believe you didn't even mention Tobias at all even if just for a joke. but all in all, good points were made, however I still do like the current masters 8 they do have. The Masters 8 and the journey's anime have actually made me really want to binge through the whole pokemon anime again, but it's so hard to find time to commit to binging episodes
Even though his story arc ended in Sinnoh, I would have loved to have seen Brandon in the M8! Let him keeps his regi’s and give him the two new ones. He also has other Pokémon besides Regi’s he could use too!
I hear you Mystic, but it has been revealed that Alain has to fight Leon. And there is no way Leon would lose that easily, seeing he represents Galar. Update: The episode were Leon and Alain battle came out today. Sorry Mystic, Alain lost. And I've seen fans already calling it the worst battle in Journeys.
Alain vs Ash was the obvious route but the writers couldn't resist having Charizard vs Charizard. And we had something like that already in the Kalos league. And I wanted Iris against Lance too.
You are very subjective and your reasoning doesn't from an anime stand point. You tend to forgot from time to time that the anime and the games are different. I understand what the writers were going for making the champions of their respective regions one of masters 8. Understand Lance being a Champion of two regions due to the indigo Plateu is located that they needed someone to fill the final spot, so it feels like they just threw Alain in the because of.... But a decent video I guess
@@jasonbornot i know At least remove diantha Or they could have let her battle alain first and then alain could move on to fight leon instead of having him wasted
I didn’t really see the need for this video. The master 8 is fine. The only ones I would replace are Alain, and Iris. Personally I don’t like Iris and since Alain wont have a rematch theres no point to him being in the Masters 8. Seeing Tobias or Karen would be much better. I don’t think we need to see Alder and Mustard, they are retired let them enjoy it. That would be like asking Professor Oak to return. Wallace is also not a good champion in my eyes. Wallace could never surpass Steven, he only became champion in Emerald because Steven stepped down. Proven by the fact that when Steven decided to take back his title he kicked Wallace right out. As for Lance, he should give up his Dragon Master title and be could a Flying Master.
Mustard only has a 2% chance of ever replacing Leon. And your entire reason for replacing Diantha with mustard is knoll and voided by the fact that grandninja is not even a member of Ash's active team in any region except for kalos And I'm pretty sure that the anime writers manipulated the masters 8 tournament brackets just to put ash against Cynthia in the second round and Ash VS Leon in the final. Meaning the only wild card match up Ash had was the first round where he went up against the howen champion Be it Steven or Wallis, so with your bracket, I gotta ask without replacing anyone's team members. Where's the kalos representation? You axed Diantha Because you already had kalos representation. Which you then replaced with Karen of the Johto elite four All because Mega X Charizard VS Mega Lucario wasn't epic enough for you. The sad truth, Alon was thrown into the tournament as cannon fodder to show Leon as a threat. Lance was there Because he was the runner-up in the last masters 8 tournament and automatically got an invitation alongside Leon to return, Cynthia is a fan and writer favorite, Leon's the big threat, Ash is the previous generation of games' new champion face and of course the main character. Steven Diantha and Iris Are the only ones that are touchable. If you take out Cynthia's garchomp, Steven is the strongest champion the games have ever seen, Diantha and her Gardevoir can communicate just by eye contact, and as for iris. Name me one other dragon master champion in any generation that can communicate with their Pokémon Via a soul bond.
Based off of your reasoning … I think the list is fine as is. You picked characters who you feel could use more exposure or development but that wasn’t the point in being the best. The characters selected by the anime are quite clearly the best…
Bro Steven and Wallace are completely not interchangeable. For one Steven is a much more powerful trainer than Wallace. Plus Wallace is a much better Contest Coordinator than a Pokemon battler hence the Sinnoh Wallace cup arc.
The Leon v Alain match is just to showcase how strong Leon’s Charizard is in its base form since the grass monke is getting g-max’d and the zard mirror match is against a mega form
In mustards rare Leauge card or whatever it's called it says that he retired after losing his partner Pokemon and after the Chairman asked him to win a rigged match so it would be cool to see him but he has lost all motivation to battle
We should cut Leon. He shouldn't be a part of the Masters 8. They should have 8 trainers competing for the chance to face Leon instead, and thus free up a slot for another story relevant trainer to be here.
@@SpiritedFalcon why not? Then the Masters 8 would be just like in Sword and Shield. They already acknowledge Leon as the champion and #1 trainer. Why not make the Masters 8 a meaningful tournament to face Leon just like the season started, with Leon in an exhibition match as the best trainer in the world.
@@theking8347 but we already set him up as the most elite trainer in the first episode of Journeys, and keep stressing that every time Ash reinforces his desire to face Leon. We would never need to see another Leon match to know this, and know that any match Leon is in he will win until he faces Ash.
With both Alder and Mustard as both champions, they both represent Unova and Galar, respectively with their old age and wisdom. I 100 percent agree we need to have Mustard appear more in the anime especially with his pal, Urshifu.
