The Pens are always a great team on paper, but the Bruins generally handle the Pens. And this has been true in the postseason too. Their roster is just too old now too, they didn't make good enough moves at the deadline. The Panthers are the only option here that scares me. They always give the B's trouble. Islanders feel like they've had a down year, and unless Barzal can get back to form I think their roster is thin
Leafs and Boston fan here. Weird combo I know. what's your thoughts on Bruins vs Leafs series I would say that Leafs can't beat Bruins round 1 but I think if the leafs push through to round 2 it would be an amazing series and the outcome I think could be surprising what are your thoughts?
Good points. I will say though sometimes, Superstars steal games. I have no doubts Crosby and company can snag a game from us even with a mediocre Jarry performance.
Looks like it will be the Panthers. Like you said their defense is much worse than ours but they can definitely score in bunches when they want to. I predict Bruins in 6 but I could see them winning in 5 if the defense and Ullmark hold up
Rather take on Penguin's goalie's. See if we can get that done in 5 games, rest just a bit, not get rusty- study the other teams. Penguins are dangerous-especially when Malkin has the puck the last .07 seconds of the game. But I think we can pick on their goalies easier. Sadly, I don't think Buffalo's going to make it Whoever it is-make sure we don't underestimate our opponents!
Without Svetchnikov I’m not super worried about Carolina given we’ll have home ice all playoffs, the Rangers really worry me though it seems like they’re clicking and they have so much experience
Not worried about the Rangers at all, Bruins have owned them forever. Canes are a little less scary now without Svechnikov who was big for them, and the Devil's are way to young and inexperienced to worry me. Bruins made them look like minor leaguers on two separate back to backs in Jersey. I worry about Toronto, Florida and Tampa more than anyone else.
@@greyk610 second round will be interesting for sure. I think Toronto finally breaks the curse in a hard fought series and then gets swept by Boston lol
As a pens fan, idek what the pens would do in the playoffs. Wc2 is basically their only option if they make it and they’ll either get swept first round or win the cup. Very inconsistent season with really high highs and very low lows. However the bottom six and defense will remain trash regardless. The pens only win if their top six carries and if jarry can find his all star form. Even if they get all of that it’ll be an uphill battle against Boston.
Florida is the only team I'd be concerned about. We swept the season series for the rest and seem to have their number. Florida would have just pulled off a 2019 CBJ and squeaked into the playoffs in the final 8 games. Meanwhile the Bs have had a season like the 2019 TBL...
one thing to consider is the Islanders have Barzal coming back most likely before round 1. The powerplay when Barzal and Horvat were together was 35%. That is a huge increase from where it is now and could be the last piece of their puzzle. If they go up by a goal or 2 they shut teams down with their defense and superb goaltending, but believe me as an Isles fan i really hope we stay in wild card 1. We don't want to play you guys either lol
i'd love to see it too, as i'm a native pittsburgher that used to live outside of boston. definitely have to give the bruins a pretty decent chance of winning in 5 or 6 though.
I can see the Bruins playing Pittsburgh in round one. It is crazy to think that the last time these two played each other in the playoffs was the ECF, 10 years ago.
Im really on scared of tampa or say Toronto gets the monkey off their back. Also new jersey can catch fire QUICK in any given game and erase a multi goal lead in minutes. The only team that scares me from the west if the avs
The B's have success all year rolling the alternating goalies system. I say they buck the old trend of riding one horse between the pipes during the playoffs and they warrant success regardless of who they play. Giving opposing shooters the same target with the same deficiencies to shoot at isn't wise. Mixing it is the way to go.
I think the 1st round could be okay-ish with whomever, but then I’m kinda scared of everybody - especiaĺly Canes, but Rangers and Tampa are also scary.
Doesn’t matter who. A hot goalie can beat the best team. I remember the 93 Canadiens had no business winning the cup but Roy stood on his head and beat everyone. Same as the Bruins in 2011. I thought they would be ok but never thought they would go all the way. Thomas was a beast in net and that was that. They just need to play like every round, the opponent is the best team. Good, smart fundamental hockey.
As a lifelong Devils fan, I'm not crazy about the B's. But it is nice to see humble fans like you actually concerned about the first round. I know y'all got a lot of massholes, but I see a lot of guys like you when I lurk in the bruins subreddit. Tone deaf, overconfident loudmouths like many rangers fans are never a good look for a team, glad you represent well.
